I been in hoods all thru the states and overseas. The best thing to do is be confident and mind your own. Dont be cocky but not scared either and stay away from where u know u dont belong unless you know somebody
Stand your ground mind your business and show respect

Gang members get very very confused when dudes from other states are just hanging out without a care or fear in the world lol
Right lol
They are in their hood and they don’t recognize them so they can possibly be an enemy so they approach them it’s not that their confused😂
It's a combination of paranoia and just being alert, it has nothing to do with confusion. Once I had to convince my New York homie who was visiting L.A. for the first time to keep his Yankee fitted at the crib.
@@caliresident5018 makes sense
@@southsideofhawthorne6507 just imagine if you hang out somewhere almost everyday and your friend with everyone from that neighborhood and then one day you see someone u don’t recognize would you rather someone press you and ask you where you from and possibly fight or just get shot like it’s the south lol
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾

I'm from Cutthroat City Louisiana.. moving around w my big brother in the 90s as a youngster when New Orleans was murder capital I learned a MAJOR thing. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
Man I stepped on a nigga shoe in the club that just had got out for killing a nigga who stepped on his shoes. Fresh pair of yellow Ballys. Nigga was by himself. I was deep. Nigga was small in stature, I was bigger. Plus I didn't know who he was. Ballys costed like $400 in 93/94. I messed his shoes up. Mud all on the shoestrings and everything. I went right in my pocket and gave him all I had. Bout $80. His whole facial expression changed. He asked me to walk in the bathroom w him. I did. He showed me the chrome baretta on his waste line. Told me who he was, gave me my money back and told me it was the RESPECT that saved my life.

I’m from Texas but lived in Long Beach for 3 years. I have a lot of Insane Crip friends that I started hanging around for the simple fact that we were friends. I didn’t ever think about the politics. One of my homies whose a Hoover but well known around Compton and Long Beach, and he told me I should stop chillin with the crowd I’m with cause “people” think I’m affiliated. One night at around 1 am I was out front of my apartment building smoking a joint and a car about 4 or 5 deep full of niggas rolled their window down and yelled out “ WHAT THAT BABY INSANE LIKE?!” I was caught off guard and shook. I’m like why are they askin me this? Is it cause they’re from insane and they’re tryna see if ima fellow member? I think not they was hoping I confirmed so they Could let off. The question was so foreign to me I said “ what you say?” They said it again “ what that baby insane like?” I said look bro “ I’m from Texas, idk what this is”… when I say them niggas skirted off dying laughing lol. But I lived to write this comment lmaoo
Eyyy they dying laughing. You're living standing 🙏

Yea I'm from Texas 2 been in LA and we use to wear those houston astros and texas rangers hats representing texas not knowing anything about what they mean in california, so one night in the club these 2 dudes walked up to us me and 3 of my other patnas and said say homie y'all ain't from around here we said nah man we from Texas, one of the older cats said y'all a long way from Texas homie, take those hats off because it's 15 dudes outside waiting for y'all,we going to get y'all out of here but stop wearing those hats in la it will get you killed, they got us to the car and we got the hell on, it was crazy because it was a whole bunch of gang bangers outside waiting but because those older guys recognized we wasn't from around there he calmed the situation down, we had no idea

Oh i bet it get REAL dicey out there fasho!
L.A., Inglewood, Willowbrook, Watts & Compton is tricky like that.
Depending on where you're at, what you have on and the time of day or night the press ratio can either be low or super high.
I did Door Dash all through L.A. & surrounding cities. The only sections I ever got pressed in was East L.A. and Echo Park.
Walked in to grab my food, walked up to the counter and one dude tried to tell me I was cutting in front of him and his homie. The whole time there wasn't a line and they were sitting down waiting for their food.
I walked back out to the car, got my 2 homies, we walked back in, and started fighting. They called LAPD on us.
Outside of that, I never had any issue in L.A. or any other surrounding city as far as getting pressed. You have to know how to move, where to go and not go even if you know people who live over there.
Edit: I wasn't Door Dashing on the night when my homies were with me.
LMAO you walked out got your homies and started fighting lmao

The hood boundaries is every where. Visited my Cousin in Albuquerque in the late 90s and he told me what not to do when he go to work that day. Don't go over here and mostly definitely don't ever drive to that side of town.
You will definitely get pressed in cali... when i moved to inglewood i got pressed a few times... i was just a dancer who moved out there for the dance culture... yall be safe out there in them streets...
Depends on you, I’m a software developer who moved down there for the weather. I have a flashy car and love to drive and walk around and I’ve never been “pressed”. I’m also not black or Mexican so maybe that’s why. Seems like this whole “pressing” thing is something the black community does to itself.
