Got a lot done, from feeding the animals to cleaning the pens to watering the garden and more makes for a busy day. Thanks for sharing, have a good evening!
Nice summer day on the farm. The kitties are rescued and given a much needed home. Cats will sleep through the day and hunt mice at night and the barn will have no more mice from this day forward.
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤ I agree with everyone ❤ you had a shot out on FTR..❤I watch all of you guys ❤ Pete is dealing with clay soil ❤ Stoney has drought issues ❤Greg he’s doing right ❤Tork and Sawyer barn talk❤ you’re definitely doing a great job 👍 blessed ❤on the 8th day God created a farmer to take care of his fields ❤❤
Good idea about storing the feed. It's easier keep in the sealed barrels. The cats look very relaxed. Everything about your farn is relaxed. Thanks Evan.
with as much feed as you have around you will NOT be sad to have several cats, as a kid we had a black moma cat that was the best mouser i have ever seen , we had lots of square bales at the time once i saw her have one mouse in her mouth, one under each front paw (one only had 2 toes as dad hit her with the mower in the pasture once) and she was staring at the mice running away like DANG!!! actually put a couple of fence posts to keep your intake bucket upright and let it float and you wont get as much gunk in the filter
I love using raw chicken manure in our garden, it does better than any store-bought fertilizer. The only time you will ever have problems with it is if it’s in direct contact with the plant, otherwise it doesn’t matter where you put it outside it won’t harm your plants. You can run it straight down the middle of the row and it will still make it to the roots. Great video!
You should know that you have been putting out some great videos sense you retired from your regular job. Not that they werent great before but i can tell you are enjoying it much more. Keep up the great content. See you in the next video.. lol
Here’s a suggestion for your feed carts. Make a dome roof with electrical conduit and sheet metal ends. Bolt on a treated wood ledge with holes for the conduit ends Doors on the ends for the auger. Seal up the joints with silicone
Great day Evan, lots done and still something to do tomorrow. Always busy with something and Rebecca knows where you'll be ALL DAY. LOL . Really glad you are enjoying your unscheduled work schedule around the weather. You're doing a great job. Stay safe and keep up the great videos and the fun you two have around there. Fred.
Perhaps you may want to consider a product called seam seal. It comes in a caulk gun. Available at the farm and feed store. That will seal up your grain storage bin with no problem
In the family farm, we never fed cats or let them inside. Their food was mice in the barn and in they couldn’t stay warm enough, they froze and were buried when the ground warmed.
Glad to see you are wearing a mask this time when shoveling the chicken straw bedding. Im wondering if there is somewhere in your community where they have food scraps or barley or other types of food scraps that you can use towards feeding your pigs. I'm sure there is other neighbors or nearby folks that also have fruit trees that are overloaded I need somewhere to take the extra fruit extra fruit. That would help with decreasing the cost of feeding your pigs. And maybe some of the food scraps could go to the other animals
When we moved to Florida we lived in a retirement place and with the ponds all around I started pumping water to use on the yard and plants. I did that until we couldn't stand to live there anymore. We were too use to living in the country. So we bought another house and the house was many times bigger but it had no pool. So we had the perfect place for one and had it put in. We'll it was always a pain to keep the water correct but it was a salt pool and didn't need chlorine and the pool guy I ended up firing him because I didn't know he didn't ever clean the salt cell. It is a little costly. So we had a chance to move to Missouri and the prices of housing was crazy, we sold it for over double of what we paid. Back to all the different seasons again, love it. The people here are so much nicer than Florida.
Excellent vid.. sir.. Glad your allocating time with your better half.. Its very important. Your funnel issue just use the top of a plastic bottle and use the other bit for plants in the garden.. recycling out of the box 😂.. stay safe 🏴
You're getting more and more side projects done. Has to be a load off your mind. This winter will you bring a feed wagon into the garage and weld seams, etc. ? Might be a fun video. 👍👍👍
Even, your best bet now your home all day is to design a boat with an engine at the back to pull you forward thus then you can make a paddle across the front to pick up all the duckweed ,( ideal to put on composter ) that’s what the compost pile needs to ferment and brakedown ,as at the moment it’s to dry , if you make the boat open fronted ,as you then can drive into all that duckweed ,
Try peat moss for chicken coop bedding. That is what I use.. lasts much longer than straw and wood chips and it great for the garden after it gathers the poop.
Pretty calico momma kitty! We have 2 calicos & 4 tortoise shell barn cats plus a few orange tabbys. We have 3 barns and a shop so we need a lot of kitties. In FL we get roof rats. These kitties help a lot so we spoil them.
Yep, i second the “wait, compost the chicken manure first” sentiments. It’s too hot right now. You may have to get one of those carport things to store your feed wagons under
Careful with chicken manure it ca BURN A GARDEN UP! I once watched my neighbor used too much chicken manure in his garden and burned it up. He couldn't anything there for 2-yrs
Have you ever considered putting down a little lime on the concrete floors to change the PH after cleaning to kill off pathogens that could affect new young critters while their immune systems are growing? Just a dusting can really help if allowed to dry.
Good music to go with a good video. I planted tomatoes in a greenhouse the same time as you planted yours outdoors. All mine are still green. That’s sunny Scotland for you. 😂 🏴 Could you not drag a net over the pond a fews times and then feed the duckweed to the pigs?
Yes, it is time to stop working and go eat supper , I have been with you as long as you have been on your farm . I know what a worker you are. You never want to quit, so now you can have supper with your wife and rest. God bless you both. ❤❤
@@CountryViewAcres Same here. I was only able to save £28 per ton or £0.70 per 25kg bag when buying chicken feed loose. The plastic bags are reusable and the feed stays fresh
Growing up on a farm I learned you can never have enough barn cats for mice. Nice of you to take them in
That's a busy day's work! Glad to see there's so much good going on out at the farm!
You gotta be lovin' the freedom and independence of full-time farming, Evan.
What a sweet mama and cutest kittens!!! 💕❤️
love farm cats
Rebekah didn't have enough critters to pet on, right?
Got a lot done, from feeding the animals to cleaning the pens to watering the garden and more makes for a busy day. Thanks for sharing, have a good evening!

Thanks Evan and Rebekah for taking in mama cat and her kittens
Thanks Evan, you got a mention on FTR about the water pipe breaking incident.

My Wife says she really loves your house and especially the porch !
Yes sometimes we need to stop working and sit back and enjoy what’s important 😊
Thank you Rebekka for saving the mama cat and kittens.
Lovely video as always. Thank you. Love the barn kitties. ❤️🙏
A great day of accomplishments.
Love watching❤.

Pretty kittens and mama!
What a worker you are. Good luck with everything.
Good video. Thanks 😎
Hello Evan thanks for the entertainment. Have a great day.

Thanhk you. I love video

Great Video. I love watching the progress, continued Success !

Looks like rain chance every day next week. Have you stirred the compost pile lately? To assist with the feed box in the barn, incorporate a pulley.
Good evening guys!
Good call on quitting time for family time
Hello Evan
They are lovely cats
Definitely DO NOT forget “together” time. It is the most important part of the day. Sounds corny as h- but it is true.
Glad to see you are wearing a mask this time when shoveling the chicken straw bedding.

Love the new kitties
Looking good
From experience i have noticed that the smaller the bird the stronger fertilizer is their droppings.

Absolutely! Solar panels on the roof making electricity, duckweed on the pond making fertiliser. A big boom to bring it in perhaps and scoop it out.
Another productive day on the farm. Great job, Evan! Does Rebeka still go out to coddle the critters even though they are fed before she gets home?
Try peat moss for chicken coop bedding. That is what I use.. lasts much longer than straw and wood chips and it great for the garden after it gathers the poop.
A good day!
When are you going to start a trenching project to handle the water that comes thru the barn and gives you all the trouble in the barnyard area?
Thx
I have a question please. Is there a video that includes you making that feed box? Thanks and enjoy watching the videos.

Thanks Evan!
Howdy young man and little miss
Look for a poly feed bin with screw on lid they work great!!! They hold about 2 ton
Everything is looking so good!
Tour of the house ..like living room kitchen . dinning room main floor
Yep, i second the “wait, compost the chicken manure first” sentiments. It’s too hot right now. You may have to get one of those carport things to store your feed wagons under
Well, guess i am too late.
Careful with chicken manure it ca BURN A GARDEN UP! I once watched my neighbor used too much chicken manure in his garden and burned it up. He couldn't anything there for 2-yrs
You need one of those small Cabins? See yall later!
do you feed your chickens duckweed? excellent supplemental food. high in protein and nutrients. your duckweed is a blessing, not a curse. free feed.
Those are some Beautiful Tomatoes
According to my notes, there is a funnel on the second shift in the shop!😄
Have you ever considered putting down a little lime on the concrete floors to change the PH after cleaning to kill off pathogens that could affect new young critters while their immune systems are growing? Just a dusting can really help if allowed to dry.
Is it possible to take the containers to the mill and have them filled? Maybe put them on a pallet and lift them on/off the truck or trailer?
👍👍
Good music to go with a good video. I planted tomatoes in a greenhouse the same time as you planted yours outdoors. All mine are still green. That’s sunny Scotland for you. 😂 🏴
Could you not drag a net over the pond a fews times and then feed the duckweed to the pigs?
What do you do with the ducks in the winter !
Yes, it is time to stop working and go eat supper , I have been with you as long as you have been on your farm . I know what a worker you are. You never want to quit, so now you can have supper with your wife and rest. God bless you both. ❤❤
Evan where are the dogs? I watch all your videos and I haven't seen them in any lately.
Now that was a great day on the Farm no real screw up s LOL
When are you going to build that bridge across your pond I’ve been waiting to watch you do that
Another great video brother 🤙 I’ve been meaning to ask how your transition is going so far from not having to do the 9-5 anymore ?
Those chickens love that barn! But they are clever enough not to get under the tractor's wheels. Haven't seen the dogs for a long time!
Would it be easier to put wheels on the back of the chicken tractor?
I used dog Flea collars for MY Bird feed that Kills the bugs? Just a tought
If livestock won't eat much of the duckweed, would it be worthwhile gathering it and adding it to the compost pile?
Waving a hand from texas
Evan. Please turn your boat upside down. You killing me.
Does the feed store recycle the bags? They look like new.
Is there much difference in the cost of buy feed in bags instead of bulk?
There is definitely more time and fuel involved in getting bagged feed. Not sure about cost difference per pound.
@@CountryViewAcres Same here. I was only able to save £28 per ton or £0.70 per 25kg bag when buying chicken feed loose. The plastic bags are reusable and the feed stays fresh
Gravity wagons hold humidity made for transportation not storage
