March 16, 1962: "La primadonna assoluta" Maria Callas with the NDR Symphony Orchestra (today: NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester) in the Hamburg Music Hall. In the celebrated concert conducted by Maestro Georges Prêtre, the soprano sang arias by Jules Massenet, Georges Bizet, Giuseppe Verdi and Gioachino Rossini - including Massenet's "Pleurez mes yeux" from "Le Cid", the Carmen-showpieces "Habanera" and "Seguidilla" by Georges Bizet and the aria "Nacqui all'affanno" from "Cenerentola" by Gioachino Rossini. The NDR Symphony Orchestra performed opera overtures by Berlioz, Gounod, Bizet, Verdi and Rossini.
