I was preparing to line up, forgot to do up my one of my gates and fell in, it then proceeded to rain and I got a bloody nose. It was only a local regatta thankfully
One time I was in a race and this happened to me but I fell at the end so it counted as a win and I got 1st place! (I'm Italian so sorry for bad english)
@@user-hj6tt7jf8w he didnt hit the buoy with that blade, because he is in the buoy on the other side of the boat. he just cauht a nice crab, like somebody in chat already found out.
The force water can cause on an oar is like a brake. Its how we stop the boats and its strong enough to dislocate a jaw (my friend in a race). It happens and isn’t necessarily his fault that he fell out, those shells are tippy af
Ohhh this feeling. It`s the worst to happen. you giving it all in your race and than the vrab joins the chat and your pain suddently ends but not at the finishline. had this one time like a year ago. Was down as shit for two weeks, overthinking everything with my stroke, style and tactics..... Yeah just the worst to happen.
Today I was rowing and I got the worst crab of all time! It was horrible the oar handle smashed into my crotch and stomach area and it hurt, that happened because I’m pretty small, and the oar can overpower me really quickly.
On my first national championship, i came second in my heat and managed to capsize in the repechage. I couldve very possibly reached semi finals. Although it reallly does suck But its a great learning stage❤️🔥
It depends... He lose at the A final in a World championships, so I think that hurts because he was training for that race for a year, but yes, it can be funny If you're training, thanks for sharing your comment!!😊

So this is called a crab and it happens when the oar and blade don’t go into the water correctly and then the blade acts like an underwater parachute causing sudden force in the opposite direction the boat is going.
exact thing happened to me this past weekend at a race. shit sucks.
Seems like a skill issue
It's happend to me kayaking a K2 it sucked but 1 time I saved it by putting my hand in the water 🤣

aw feel bad for him,
but he just let the oar go -_-
No he steared badly and hot the buoy with the other or then lost that oar
It got ripped out of his hands. Also when you scull youre supposed to be loose in the hands so he probably wasnt gripping onto it that hard
In rowing we call it catching a crab, it literally ruins your entire race because the blade of the oar didn’t go into the water right

Yeah, a long time ago at my Nationals, my buddy and I flipped in double-skull just 50 meters from the finish. It was a final.
He rows beautifully though
I guess winning world cup 3 is payback for that

this happened to me yesterday at a race, it sucks
I once had that happen to me in a quad
i feel very sorry for him. Harsh but its a part of the sport, happens to the best.
It happened on one of my team member when he was racing in Beijing last month, just a few meters away from the finish line😂😂😂

For someone who don't do sport, it is funny
It's not the question of some injuries or cold water. It's about that he could not finish the race and consequently took the last position.
