Nice - In my mind I thought this battery soldering iron is money wasted but you have proven it is not. Thank you showing the press button from previous model. I will buy this model now. Thanks
I got this today and I was surprised... I have PKLA 4 A2, which I felt like being on right track but found it problematic enough to avoid completely. When saw new model in store today, I thought "they must've fixed things with this model" and with that price, I wanted to try it... not going to lie, it turned out better than expected... recommend this for every DIY-people.
Turns out some PKLA 4 A2's were problematic after leaving assembly line, and some were not. No idea what's the determining factor of it, but speculations are for example manufacturing locations. Although good and bad products do come from same site.
@@Boz1211111 there's just one button and no way to change rhe temperature. But the temperature was about 530°C on which the iron heats in 30 secondary, that's amazing for just 8W device...
@@EdwardSkihands yes quick heating is very good but 530c is insane temp. i work most of the time at 330c on my station and this thing looked convenient to carry. I guess wont be buying a new iron since my soldering station can run on battery power
I just bought it and I'm surprised. It works great for occasional personal use, for quick fixes around the house, for my son to use it for building Arduino projects... Being cordless is a big plus, but it lacks some additional options and the battery does not last long, so it is not for any professional use.
hi! for some reason the tip on mine doesnt get hot enough. I can barely melt solder. I did tighten the tip on it but still it melts the solder with very much difficulty. what could be the cause?
Not having a 2nd (Safety) switch makes this a FIRE HAZARD. Throw it in a box with some other things, something hits the button - FIRE !!! Considering that this soldering Iron is meant to be for mobile use..... I had this happen with my hammer drill, forgot to put it in safety position, driving around... suddenly started hammering cuz smth shifted and hit the button :D NP with Hammer drill... but with a Soldering Iron ???
Are you a adult or a child that can't handle grown up tools, all sissys this days and no common sense anymore. 🤔 If you can handle tools than don't do it. They are enough warnings and handling suggestions on the manuals.
u cant have a possitive without a negative coming after so ye cordless but u cant use it while its charging so pointless but ive bought 4 ones with cord on them and all 4 bust the same way just went buzz then went off crazy parkside aswell
What I wonder? What would happen if I put a stronger battery? Now there is 1500mAh inside. What should I put 3200mAh? Would the charger charge it? It should, but for twice as long. Am I right?
I've upgraded mine to 3000mAh right as i got it. It charges super long, haven't measured current but it's somewhere around 0.5A-1A. It takes about 5h to charge it if i completly discharge it. Can't say for sure how much longer it lasts since i haven't tested it with original battery, but in theory it should last about twice as long.
Its only a toy, in my opinion! This device is only good for soldering wires in the air. To unsoldering a component from a PCB, it is absolutely impossible, the tip cools down instantly! Wase of money, i returned it.
This was a great little tool, until it broke down. Actually both of them that i bought. After some time without being used, they went dead. not charging, nothing. straight to trash
The tops are a joke, inside. Between the beak and the bulb socket, there is the copper wire that breaks from the heat. They are not covered by the warranty, and you can't really find a replacement either. Except for the Chinese, but don't order online, they play tricks. If you can find it in the local shop, fine (cost about 10-12 euros only the tops). Those who buy tools to rely on them, better look for something else. Like a soldering station 12V powered if you needed on the ground, or other kind of tool if you work on wall, pole, etc.
I had a problem with this too, but it turned out the tip had come loose in the holster. Check it's cool, unscrew the tip completely, screw it back in again hand-tight and try again.

Is it temperature controlled?

Thanks for the video Andrew. Where do you get new tips for this?

Thank you for your review. Can you tell me if I can use this on household items like a lampshade skeleton?

to weak power, probably much less than 8W as declared. Measure heater resistance and calculate power by 13.7/R . R is resistance that you measure
How do you know when it is fully charged, i had mine on for 2 hours an the red light was still on?
I paid 9 eur but it s suprisingly good. My question ,are spare tips available?

You have to hold the button down for 5 seconds to turn it on. It also turns off automatically after a period.
Well, you just need to unscrew the soldering tip. Then there is no chance of anything catching fire. Is it that hard to do?
You should always remove battery from your cordless tools if not used. It's a good practice and it can save your ass.
Seriously?

You didn't mention the charging - presumably you just plug the USB cable into a compatible socket?
Yee

You welcome please subscribe thanks
You should put some water on the sponge before using it
this timer of approx 30 sec from red to green light makes no sense. It is always 30 sec, even when I turn it OFF for 5 second and turn it back ON
I like mine.

@@TheMrjogasI have one, and it's working great. I bought for 8 Euros. I can't get anything for 8 euros for my Weller station.
Its garbage if it can't adjust the temperature.
