The map at the beginning has a pretty humorous flaw to it. Up until 1976 (ie. during the conflict in Vietnam), that city in the South that's labeled Ho Chi Minh City was known as Saigon. If that map was accurate for the period, as it depicts the divide between North and South Vietnam, it would have said "Saigon". Instead it says the modern, post-conflict name of Ho Chi Minh City. Someone accidentally used a modern map instead of one for the period.

Also the accumulated lift generated by all the jets was enough to prevent the carriers getting stuck on sand bars. True story. As for why or rather who is mainly responsible for the failure, look no further then Robert McNamara. Him and his idiot arm chair generals believed they could run a war like they ran businesses.
Yes, I know, it's an arcade game, but seriously, a F-105 that could outturn a zeke? Even as an arcade game they fail massively at just before the 3 minute mark. After testing your diving and climbing, it says "AILERON functionality good!"

Now, the problem with your commonly accepted POV is that while it has its applications in free material, such as checking out a book from the library or watching a specific show on a station you already have, buying a videogame is becoming more and more a major investment. Not only do I not have a job that I could buy every game just because I feel like trying it, but even if I did it would have a detrimental effect on the quality of games produced if everyone thought that way, since the free market economy is based on valuable goods being produced based on demand. If you show them that there is demand for crap games, people will make crap games.
IDK how easy pirating is on the PS4 (I assume the BIOS hasn't been cracked yet), but to the best of my knowledge there isn't a demo either. If there are options, let me know because this game did get my hopes up (I don't pirate though. Yet.). I am not aware of a demo, but if there is that would be another story altogether.

I'm a big fan of Vietnam War games but this one is not a good one for me and that's me being very polite! It has the locations, the military hardware and the music of the era vibe but it is a very poor attempt at harnessing an experience to keep playing or even remember for the better. I was warned about this game but the title is sooo inviting!
A good video of gameplay, though it also shows several big reasons why this game should be avoided. Wonky flight models and controls, bad graphics and low-res textures that are often worse than PS2 era, tiny areas that have you turning around every 20 seconds, poorly executed air combat AI, and terrible voice acting and narration. To say nothing of the even more terrible helicopter segments that make every one of these even worse...

they should give up on these games i played a much funner based war game where you can unlock unique world war two planes unlock weapons for them and new paint jobs and the acting rocks your missions make sense into winning the war and the controls are so easy the missions go from easy and ride up the ladder so they they get a little harder threw the mission is smooth gameplay and you even verse bosses with a plane you haven't unlocked before sadly its for ps2, xbox i wished they did a remake of the game

I just visit air defence museum in Hanoi, hell there are alot of American wrecked planes, b52, f111, f4, even a6, a8, their air defence shot it into pieces, American big fail in all kind of categories in Vietnam. Better learn from French to not messing around with Vietnam.
This game is so bad, I am speachless. But I will try: First of all, missions are short, they dont even give you feel being in some combat. Besides, all combat is made only by a player, rest of planes, helicpters does literally NOTHING - they just fly and dont give single shot, thats why some missions are frustrating like hell (not Vietnamisse hell). Secodnly: voice acting and sounds overall are in quality of games known from GameMachines in 1995, seriously. Game wants me to be pilot or gunner or bomber - hell, there is no other player in whole CONFLICT except me, so either I am struggle to avoid canons on my Heli, or I try to shot them up, but weapons have magic range and you will not find yourself eliminating stuff from distance. Overall, I regret I bought this crap for m PS3. 2/10

watching that info-mercial on the US humanitarian operation in the South-East Asia, I bought that game on Steam!....What a great game!
This game is so bad, I am speachless. But I will try: First of all, missions are short, they dont even give you feel being in some combat. Besides, all combat is made only by a player, rest of planes, helicpters does literally NOTHING - they just fly and dont give single shot, thats why some missions are frustrating like hell (not Vietnamisse hell). Secodnly: voice acting and sounds overall are in quality of games known from GameMachines in 1995, seriously. Game wants me to be pilot or gunner or bomber - hell, there is no other player in whole CONFLICT except me, so either I am struggle to avoid canons on my Heli, or I try to shot them up, but weapons have magic range and you will not find yourself eliminating stuff from distance. Overall, I regret I bought this crap for m PS3. 2/10

+GRaToMiC they do. But its not about realism. Take those red walls and you still find a game with porly designed gameplay and worls: no support of your Aircrafts - I flied for several minutes and watched my "alies" fling without shoting anything. There are missions that supposed to be war, so you troops could take action vs hostile forces, but they dont. You are RAMBO 1222222222124213542465 vs All Vietcong. So corny :/

can you change the flight controls into realistic like ace combat? which you can roll and make high end maneuvers?
