S7 Ep 3 Sambar Out of Lockdown

- In 2020, Victoria and the city of Melbourne endured one of the toughest and longest covid lockdowns in the world. Understandably it was tough on everyone, but those who call the bush and the outdoors home suffered immensely under the house arrest conditions. This hunt is the first one out of lockdown for Rob, and it sums everything that is good about being out in the bush, stalking deer and the challenge that is Victoria’s mighty Sambar Stag.

Thanks Shane, it sure was a great hunt, those big old boys are hard to come buy and it was great we could capture it in an episode. Cheers, Rob
Gotta love these sambar videos. I rekon you’ve got it in you for another season mate or maybe just a couple of one off UA-cam specials.
This was a great episode 👌🏽 Gets the mind ticking to get out there again. Thanks for sharing
Great to hear, thanks.
What a big rank old timer, good on you, mate!
Thanks mate sure was an old boy
Exceptional viewing as always cheers 💪👍🦌
Prehistoric animal! nice job and glad I wasn’t there for the carryout😂😂😂
Haha, yes that hurt...:)
Love it Rob. Your sambar eps are you best , bar maybe your first nt buff hunt 😉
Thanks mate I think, that buff hunt sure was fun-guess you hat to be there though...
What an animal. Great to watch Rob and hope you are well. Brilliant production as always. Ps your gear still going strong with my dad and I. Cheers Ben.
Great to see you back out there,
Cheers Dave, plenty more content coming soon
Good to see you in the bush again , just goes to show smashing through that regrowth is always painful and seems like a waste of time but sometimes it pays off
Cheers mate, yes very true just got to keep on pushing!
Big old troll. Love the gnarly heads.
Interesting what you were saying about body shape in older Sambar stags. Everything you said also applies to Red stags.
I'm an expat Kiwi but I live and hunt Red's up here in Central West of NSW. To quickly gauge a Red stag on the hoof I'm looking for a rectangle head shape, not a triangle like the younger stags have, a big block rectangle body shape, a low hanging stomach and that body blending into neck look.
Thanks mate, great stuff yes this applies to most deer, just the big old boys are rare hey, but it makes the hunt so much more worthwhile when you do eventually find them! Cheers, Rob.
Watching 3 min in is it my eyes or does your bull bar meant to move that much
Awesome
Thanks buddy
What happened to this fantastic show on WTV44 Perth WA?
The CH44 Network was forced to shut down in many areas and broadcasts costs were very high and hard to justify for a small independent production like BTD. We have all episodes coming to UA-cam soon as well as new content.
