Thanks again legand. I learnt alot about hunting and about how much I can push my mind and body and make it out the other side. Didn't get one this trip but with the knowledge I got from zeb and some pointers from a few good mates I sealed the deal on my first sambar stag the next trip. So thanks heaps mate

Hey Zebs, another easy fire starter is an old rubber bike tyre tube - cut a few rings, they weigh nothing, takes a flame really well and burns strong.

Hey Dave 👋 thanks for the tip 👍 I've tried the bike tube but the smell is a bit strong for me. They definitely work though.

Great camera work superb footage champ just a quick question if this was the last client for the year does that mean you won't go hunting personally during summer is that because of the risk of snakes or as the hind are more likely to be pregnant whats the reason for stopping is it just to hot?? And If that is the case what month next year will you start hunting again??

Hey mate, thanks for your comment 👍 so this was my last client because my family and I headed off on a big trip to Queensland. I would normally guide up to November. I don't hunt over summer much at all due to my lovely wife and 2 young boys being very understanding through the cooler months. I'm away a lot when guiding, so when I'm home over summer, I'm busy being Dad and hubby. I start to get more serious about hunting in May usually. Normally, a few warm-up trips before that, but nothing real serious. Summer is hard work, avoiding snakes and dehydration. Meat spoils very quickly, and most stags are cast or velvet. Summer is great for camping with the family and short morning hunts particularly on farm fringe. Put simply I hunt the cooler months and I'm a family man in the warmer months.
