Yea, you will pay for a nice, high grade copy, but what a fun series. If you ever collect it, look for one in Fine/Very Fine or Very Fine Minus. VF and better can be pricey.
Very tough choices! I agree that the Kamandi #1 is a slam dunk, but the others are very tough! It's funny, I have a leaning towards the 2nd issue a lot, because I don't have any of them, and they're refreshing to see as I don't seem them very often. I wish the Joker #2 had a different character than Wally the Weeper at the bottom of the cover!
They are all great covers mate, I'd not seen those Blitzkrieg books before they look interesting, was that a short run? Show them all in a future video if you got em mate. I might give the nod to number 2 of Kull as the action on the cover is just off the charts. Cool stuff as always
Sorry Grey that I did not respond sooner. I do not get notifications on comments. Yes, Blitzkrieg ran five or six issues. All Joe Kubert covers. And, I do like Kull #2 a lot. I could go either way on which cover was better for Kull.
Another fun video with great choices! Blitzkrieg #2 Claw #2 Freedom Fighters #1 Joker #2 Kamandi #1 Kull #2 Again some really great choices, Erik! Thanks amigo!
Hey Erik. Wow.. You are really knocking it out of the park with this series of vids. What wonderful comics and covers . Makes me want to pull all my copies out and display them lol Believe it or not , we agreed on every pick ! ( kinda lol ) Love all those books for pretty much all the reasons you mentioned . Blitzkrieg is a great series ( it’s KUBERT for God’s sake ! ) and another one from those great house ads, Just like Joker #1 . And even though my favorite of the two is the first issue, my favorite cover of the run was #3 with the Creeper, and favorite story is #4 w/ Green Arrow and Dinah Lance guest starring . Kamandi #1? Nuff said 😁 Kull and Claw picks, ditto . The only pick that’s tough for me is the Freedom Fighters series. #2 is the first issue I got as a kid and immediately fell in love with the characters and series. Loved the Giordano cover and Pablo Marcos art inside. I found out a school chum had #1 and he agreed to sell me his rolled up and battered copy for .25 lol Again, loved the cover by Chan and story and interior art by Estrada and Royer. The truth is, I can’t pick.. I love them both equally.. I know that’s probably against the rules, but there it is. Lol Thanks for making me love these books even more buddy. 😊
Thanks for the kind words, Shannon. I have a part four to this, which I will do this weekend. I get it with the Freedom Fighters. That first comic of the series you buy has sentimental value. That said, the black cover for the first issue is great, IMO. Thought you would like seeing Kamandi in this video. Kamandi #1 is a must-have in anyone's collection. Kull was my toughest pick. That would be a tie if I said ties were allowed, but I always want to make a pick. Hey, tomorrow Kull #2 might be my choice. Pulling out all of these books makes me want to read them again. 😁 Thanks for watching my friend.
@@erikk.5202 And great point about the Earth 2 Joker and Willy the Weeper from JLA#136.. Only true Bronze Age JLA geeks like ourselves would know that ! 😁
Agree. The Joker Bicentennial issue was a great cover, Erik, but that number one, as you said, can get pricey for a really nice grade.

On another note, Kanandi cover is such a great classic Kirby cover. It reminds me of the first Planet of the Apes movie with Chuck Heston.
Yea, it was a take off on it but Kamandi was a real good series, especially when Kirby wrote it as well as did all the art.

To me, Kamandi and Freedom Fighters were the easiest choices. Kull was the toughest.

Blitzkrieg #2
Claw #2
Freedom Fighters #1
Joker #2
Kamandi #1
Kull #2
Again some really great choices, Erik! Thanks amigo!
Tough choices in this one. Kull could go either way as could Blitzkrieg. Thanks for watching Rod!
