Thank you! The .30 cent covers as well was when I really started buying comics and that video is coming up soon. #133 was the first comic I ever bought as a kid with my own money and it has a special place in my heart.
You really nailed it with these JLA videos, Erik. This is another stretch of the JLA that I enjoyed as a kid and stll have my OTR copies neetled in my collection. That JLA paperback book is on my wantlist as decades ago I gifted mine to a friend. Some really cool stories in this rub; Adam Strange, the Cary Bates/JSA story, just fun reads.Yes indeed, Shannon is The Man!
Hey Erik .. Another great showcase of the Bronze Age JLA. Although I dearly love the 20 cent and 100 page era , during this time period I became a bonafide Justice League and DC fanatic. All those great stories art and especially the covers really hit the mark. Chan//Grell & Giordano made you want to lay down your hard earned quarter 😊 It really is hard to pick a favorite . I really enjoyed the few times they did the “ Justice League Casebook “ tales and of course my first JLA/JSA crossover.. And that #127 cover by Giordano really pops. If you keep this up I’m gonna have to pull out all my JLA boxes and read through the whole series 😱 lol Thanks again for sharing brother !
If and I say if I had to pick a favorite .25 cent, it would be #122. Just something about that cover really appeals to me. And, it is a "Justice League Casebook" store to boot. Going through these brings back memories of that first AOK you gave me. I believe a couple more of these issues are from you but are not marked. I have a .30 cent cover video in the works and that is when I became a JLA fanatic. I might do that one tomorrow since I am off. 😁 Thanks for watching Shannon.
What a bizarre way of having someone re-apply for membership to the Justice League, stand behind this curtain while people on the other side talk about you! Nice to see that Tempo book and I've always thought that Robin of Earth 2s Robin\Batman crossover outfit was fantastic!
Ah! Here's where I started getting some JLAs. However, I stopped after the first eight. Great covers drew me in, but, even at 12 years old, those stories by Elliot S! Maggin and Cary Bates would turn out hokey in the end. I was spending so many quarters on Marvel books that I dropped DC all together. It's a shame. Now I wish I had a time machine to go back and get some DC titles from this era.
I always thought Gerry Conway was a better writer for the JLA than Bates or Maggin. And, I believe he proved that when he became the regular writer later on after Steve Engelhardt left.
Fantastic stuff sir great way to break up the series. When you get to 30 or 35 cent your in my wheel house. Thanks for sharing.

All cool comics once again mate, a very generous and kind aok from Shannon for sure
Thanks Grey! Shannon has been very good to me with the AOKs.
Great video! Great memories of some great comics!
Thank you, sir! It was a great time for this title.

Thanks Rod. I just love this era of the JLA. The paperback is not too hard to find and reasonably priced. Shannon is the man!

I agree. The Robin of Earth Two definitely had a cool outfit. He had a couple of different ones that looked better than his Earth One counterpart.
Yeah ! JLA !!
