Congrats to you and big kudos to Aaron for such a wonderful and generous gift! DC did do horror and war books at a higher level. I got into those genres much later in my collecting but enjoy just as much today. Congrats on completing that Star Hunters series too. It's always very satisfying when you can close out a series after hunting down all its issues. Love the treasuries! Just a great trip down Nostalgia Blvd! Give Harry some treats for his guest appearance too! Thanks for the kind mentions, Erik and Happy New Year to you and your family, my friend!🎉
Like you Rod, I was all about the super heroes back as a kid and young collector. I did not come to appreciate the horror and war books until I returned to the hobby about eight years ago. And, it was thanks to you and Shannon that I came to appreciate these two genres. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year to you and your family Rod!
I now have a total of five treasuries in my collection. As a kid the only one I had was Superman vs. Shazam. I'm not sure what happened to that one. Picked up a well loved copy of it a few years back. While I do like the DC Treasuries, I always wanted their in-house fanzine, Amazing World of DC Comics more.
Hey Erik.. I knew from the thumbnail that this was gonna be a great video 😉 What a great gift from your friend Aaron ! Those WW Tales issues look fantastic, and I’m always a sucker for the DC treasuries . Congrats again on completing your Star Hunters run! A little more exposure and we start a speculators craze, right? When I saw the Kamandi and FBTU books it reminded me that when I really got into collecting back issues as a teen that it was those 2 titles that I was determined to complete 😊 The Dr Graves run is great, right? And I have to agree that DC did Bronze Age horror and war better than anybody . Thanks so much for the kind words my friend.. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas 🎄 😊
Yes, I was blown away by Aaron's gift to me. Like I mentioned in the video, I have had Weird War Tales #1 on my want list for a long time. So glad to be able to mark that off now. And, yes, I really like The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves. Great art and stories. Let’s face it, it doesn’t get much better than Bronze Age DC no matter what genre. We had a good Christmas and I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for watching Shannon.
Very nice additions to your collection! Those Weird War issues are superb! Glad to see you pick up some Charltons as well, which as you noted, are very hard to locate in nice condition.
Thank you! I was blown away by the gift of the Weird War Tales from my friend Aaron. You are not kidding about Charltons being difficult to find in high grade. I will have to be patient collecting those if I want to stock with nicer conditioned issues.
Weird War 1-3 for Christmas! you must have been surprised. Definitely excellent. I'm also gradually working on that Star Hunters run. I agree with all your observations! cheers.
I was very surprised QNS. And, all three issues are at least Very Fine condition. The original owner took good care of them. The Star Hunters run was fairly easy to get and inexpensive even for higher grade issues.
Thanks Grey! You won't get an argument from me on DC doing things better than Marvel as I am first and foremost a DC collector. Thanks for watching and Happy 2025!

Some nice Treasuries Erik..........wait, you only have 3 of them! The rest of the issues are great adds to your collection as well.

That DC Christmas Special and Star Hunter! I do not think that Star Hunter gets the love it deserves! Nice Haul! I subbed!
Thanks for the sub. I totally agree with you about Star Hunters. It is a totally underrated series.

Make Mine Marvel --- EXCEPT for DC's horror titles. Yes, I agree with you, DC did their horror line much better than Marvel.
You will get no argument from me Jackson. Thanks for watching.
All fine books there mate, DC just did a lot of stuff better than Marvel, I agree! Happy 2025
