Getting a shiny every 2-3 runs of the easy 10 wave playlist mode. Even with the worst blueberries, you can do 10 waves in 10 mins. So a shiny every 20-30 min.
These might have gone live already been getting random drops of the weapons at the end of waves might want to test a bit more
@@phantomskullstudios the ones that you seemingly get at the end of waves are just your weekly rewards for 50/100/150 total and 30/40/50 consecutive waves.

I've had more shiny weapons drop from Shaxx engrams and the bravery chest than legend runs.
I just came back to d2 played 6 matches of onslaught and got a shiny sniper, it’s not the best rolls or what im looking for but I’ve seen people grind this and get nothing so I think it is rng
Shaxx shouldn’t be resetable but they should let us continue to level him up for more engrams to help with weapon drops

With these changes. Farming level 10 will still be the most efficient farm. Your “chance” chest might not drop till 50. So waves 10-40 will still be two drops. With waves 30-40 giving a few extra tokens. Thats not worth the time. Level 10 is quick and simple, and now it’ll have a chance for 3rd chest.
The whole 11 minutes for the easiest 10 waves then 55 minutes for a full run doesn't sound anywhere near accurate either.
@@st0nedpenguindespite being way under leveled by wave 50 the waves do still end up being about the same speed overall in my experience. My runs usually don’t go over an hour.
@st0nedpenguin he's counting in the travel time on the shorter farm. In and out of the activity 5 times in the hour.. minute in, 30 secs to set up 1st adu, 30 secs out? So maybe 2 min surcharge per run 10 over 5. Sounds about right I think.

The times I use in the video are my averages and what I consider to be likely to be the average for a lot of people. That being said, your teams time will dictate the real answer

I’ve yet to get a double perk drop since day 1!! What’s the point of the attunement if the damn game won’t drop shit!!?! So I quit farming for hours bc I’m tired of grinding and not get it to drop. I believe this once I start getting drops, bc they said it was a 50% drop before it even started it’s been two weeks and I haven’t got shit. My clan mates have got drops but nothing for me, I believe this game hates me
They should just put in a legend 10 wave mode. 🤷
10 is so much less stressful. The stakes for a 50 run are just super high and I don't have that kind of time to lock in for an hour with no options to step away if need be.

Same, my day 1 raid team in any 3-man combination can't make it pass 33. I got up to 29 with randos. I can solo wave 10 just fine so I'll keep doing that.

Don't want to be that guy but you can 100% do this even with bad teammates by just locking in. I had a guardian rank 4 blueberry on my team and the guy was precious. I absolutely locked in not to do it for the loot, but to do it for that guy. Gotta be the change you want to see in your teammates 💪
The average 50 waves runs for most people are NOT 55 minutes xD It's still probably gonna be more worth/easier to just farm 10 waves and reset. Especially how with often people fail on the higher waves and then you get nothing. The changes to the loot need to be even higher. This is not good enough...
you still get loot every 10 so saying you get nothing is a strait up lie. i do agree that 10 will still be efficient, but those who want to trust go for the most possible you might as well go for 50
@@sirjamjam101 I mostly disagree about the time estimate. every 10 waves you clear will get more and more difficult. I've had a few 55 minute runs but most will be quite a bit over an hour. Especially if you run with a less proficient/less effective team. For MOST people playing 10 waves and restarting will still be BY FAR the most effective farm =)

@@sirjamjam101 I think what they meant is that you don't really get rewarded for the exact wave you get to but are only rewarded on those 10 increments. If you lost on say wave 42? Not too bad. Just 2 waves you sort of "waste". But say you get to wave 8-9 and lose. That's 80-90% of that reward increment that you lose out on.
Unless I just missed it and it already exists, I think a token reward based on the wave you got to and not just based on every 10 would be a nice change. Then even if you got to wave 48 and lost, you at least get a reward proportional to the time you put. But as it is currently, you only get guaranteed rewards every 10, so that incentivizes more and more players to just leave at those increments.
I've had it happen in 1 run in just a normal Onslaught. One left right after the Wave 10 boss, another at Wave 30, and again at wave 40. Maybe they just crashed, but it happened so commonly (and it was the same slot being replaced by different players) that I genuinely think people were just joining and leaving after 10 waves even in normals. I'm fairly certain a lot of that has to do with the fact that the reward structure gives merit to those who only do the 10 waves.

that's awesome, I wanted the legend 50 wave runs to be more rewarding because tbh the difficulty is where the fun is.
Honestly, doing 10 runs seems to still be the most efficient method. The enemies aren't that difficult and it's relatively safer, having lower chances to face the Tormentor that sometimes appear between waves. Running LFG is entertaining to say the least, there are great teammates and not that great teammates. The key is to keep the heavy crate available, so you can use it after the boss wave. I was using Dragon's Breath and Tether and I had a blast yesterday, getting a ton of Super back.
i would love to see them make it so that every 10 waves u get one more chest and at least one garrunteed shinny at 50
I dont think that this'll do much. For most teams sets of 10 on legend will just be more consistent.
I think the extra weapon at wave 50 needs to be shiny on legend, and each wave from 40-50 should have like a 10% (25% on legend) chance to drop a weapon.
Level 50 clears are just more engaging than flying in and doing 10. Maybe im just coping.
Sometimes I join a 50 wave room, only to join a room that has finished a few waves. So no 50 for me.

This will sound counter intuitive, but I think this is a terrible idea. I mean I get it sentiment but aren't these weapons and this mode mostly for catch up?
These are literal catch up mechanics and modes just like in Wow and most other MMOs. Bungie has been bad and catch up mechanics in the past, possibly listening too much to content creators, and this originally seemed like it was for new or returning players. Many of these weapons aren't meant for players that have already reset Shaxx and wondering why there is no prestige ranks.
Try to play the game mode in vanilla and it is boring af. There is very little or do and isn't that rewarding but we are rewarding the higher levels play for the mode when weapons are clearly geared more for players that don't have a Forbearance, Funnel Web, Succession, etc. already. Sure you can have it for both but the game really needs to double down more on new and returning players.

Every legend complition has been with randoms and has never taken more than 1 hour 10 min, idk how people are taking these 2 hours or so runs.
Also they said "chance" thats not even something that you will get.
Chance until wave 50 where it's guaranteed. You will get both extra weapons EVERY TIME if you get to 50.
50 waves wouldn't be efficient to farm, still not awarding enough even when the add the changes when you just do 10 Way Easier Way quicker. The difficulty rising every 10 waves not worth it
The difficulty doesn't even rise that much. If you compare wave 50 to wave 10 then yeah it seems a bit big but comparing wave 50 and wave 40 is hardly noticeable imo
even with this changes, bungie needs to increase the drop rate for shinys, i farmed all sunday, like 16 hours in a row and i didn't get a fck, i know this are supposed to be "exclusive" weapons but jesus christ we have like 1 month to farm for shinys, after the final shape launches this weapons are not going to be aviable, is just stupid to have this shitty droprate
That math is flawed with 50 waves. The fail chance is higher. And you need more time, with random lfg even more. Shaxx reset fix is more importent. This bounties are useless now.

Liking the changes, we are usually knocking out 50 waves in 50-55 minutes and its also so much more fun than doing the 10 wave farm.
Since I mostly play solo will just doing the 50 waves on normal be a good enough farm? ( not optimal of cause but still some what ok )

I’ve had a few shiny weapons drop from reg 50, statistically legend is obv better. To answer your question though, I’ve had success farming regular.
Normal 50 definitely is. Even without the changes, completing the activity and spending the tokens has been more than enough to acquire every curated roll of every weapon for daily active players. It really depends what you're after. If you want every curated roll, then the changes will help you achieve that as a casual, easily. But not every roll is really *that* good. Watch some guides on which rolls and why, and set some goals. Most of the ones I have came from matchmade. Now when I run Onslaught it's from boredom/fun; killing time til the next week's weapons. Just don't forget to be attuning the proper weapon at holo-Shaxx or you will be wasting a lot of time.

@@razvann07 sadly, I think there were far more issues after the last update than there were at the launch of ItL. I feel bad for people who postponed playtime waiting for an update to get quick rewards. But this is also natural since we are getting really close to the launch of the next DLC where most of their energy is likely focused. Bungie/Sony is undoubtedly nervous because they have to deliver on it 100%. So I'm sure they are not overly concerned with how free filler content performs. It sucks, but what can anyone really do? Btw, Final Shape is not removing this content, in case you didn't know. So don't worry too much about any bugs that may or may not come. You still have time to get everything once they have the time to put into it. Just enjoy the best you can. I haven't really been on this week apart from reset, but I do know they tweeted about and even pushed a memo in game about known issues with level 50 runs, advising people not to try for 50 until it gets resolved. Now, because I know they know the activity is screwed, that's enough for me to not even touch it - and I haven't since unlocking the weekly weapons. Will do the same for the final week probably. lol

I still think farming wave 10 is better. U need a stacked team communicating & using full meta loadouts plus if you die anytime past wave 30, you are actually achieving less than a wave 10 farm. I’d rather just do wave 10 farm & listen to music or podcast & chill out.
I hate getting a shiny weapon for something I’m not attuned to, they need to make it so that what ever you are attuned to that only shiny weapons of that gun will drop

you have to take into account most people can't do legend efficiently or even at all. i cleared it with my friends but lfging it i can never get past the 20s. people be going in there not even 1800 or double primarying it.
I talk about that sort of thing at the end of the video. It 100% comes down to your team’s ability and speed.

Even with these changes people are still going to do the 10 runs farm there’s literally no incentive to do 50 waves legend when you’re not even guaranteed a shiny drop factor in the increasing difficulty and the 1 hour you’ll be wasting trying to reach that wave alongside LFG players having to deal with randoms with no mic. 10 waves is fast and easy and a guaranteed safe 2 chest

yep. I did a 50 wave run on normal and got one elsies that i was attuned to. I got like 4 snipers and i haven't even unlocked that. And got a bunch of hung juryies. Everything basically got deleted. Hour wasted.

Just cuz you have extremely high rng doesn’t mean that’s true for the rest of us. Shiny drops are already abysmally low which is fine cuz they’re supposed to be rare but it feels pointless when 90% of the time you actually manage to get one to drop and it’s not even the weapon you’re attuned to

Wave 50 is the way to go. I have just been farming with friends and random LFG’s with coms. It’s been for the most part easy. It is easy to mess up and wipe. But as long as your on the same page with ads, OBJ’s and heavy it’s pretty free and a lot more fun then wave 10 farming. Even taking people through Onslaught their first time I normally get Legend 50 first try. Just gotta know basic strats and team comp 😁 trying to get as many people the 50 emblems as I can. As long as they aren’t dumb and I get my loot

I’m glad shiny weapons aren’t getting more common. They should remain extremely rare.
I don’t care if the shiny weapons are technically better, the amount of people who can actually take advantage of the benefits of shiny weapons is maybe 50-100 people in the world. Us average players don’t need them. Let them be rare and preserve the actual excitement of random drops in the game.

These changes aren’t gonna do dick. The RNG isn’t good enough for only one extra chance at a gun that probably won’t even be the one you attuned to anyway. We need more chests after every waveset. On normal 10 waves = 1 chest, 20 waves = 2 chests, 30 waves = 3 chest etc. On legend, double the rewards - 10 waves = 2 chests, 20 waves = 4 chests, 30 = 6 chests etc. and if you do 50 waves on legend you get 10 chests with two guaranteed shiny weapons and an escalating chance for 3 more.

50 normal is going to be the best as 90% of the community isn't going to put up with a headache of legend.

Please address the factors of skill to achieve a full legend run and the probability of wiping.

Seems kinda weird that it takes you 11 minutes to clear 10 easy waves but only 55 minutes for a full 50 wave clear with escalating difficulty.

Watching this video made me realize that I sincerely hate Destiny now. We grind for hours to get guns just to grind for hours to get more guns. Guns that you eventually have to delete due to vault space, so it all ends up being a complete waste of time. Especially if you're mainly a PvP player.

after an hour plus try at a 50 and then maybe another I find myself unable to even conjure the desire to try again and wind up taking a few days off.
too much headache and wasted time in the 50 for me.
no mats to get exotics to level 10 to try 'newest guaranteed super onslaught build' and no bank space to hold weapons until I figure out what the god roles actually are.
no slots for the uber build load outs you need to be able to swap into and out of
at least with 10 you make it and get something.
leave the 50's for the 10% of players lucky enough to raid and have any chance of access to all the best gear/weapons and mats to buff them
why chase gear for days to have it sunset and nerfed anyway. that is just gonna make me hate the game more.

It’s not good to do the Legend difficulty and here’s a boots on the ground report:
-there’s a very common bug going around where you’ll have say around 60% health on the machine your protecting, but then after 2-3 enemies are in that zone it glitches and instantly becomes 1% health and then you quickly lose the machine. (Idk what exactly triggers this but it might have to do with mobs or also below that 60% health)
-there are waves where two of the bigger ads spawn along with that orbital laser doing massive damage to the machine, when that happens you are basically screwed and you very quickly get overwhelmed and lose the machine. (Even if you spam supers or heavy)
-there’s also a bug right before each boss wave where when you shoot those floating things to unlock the door to the boss room it won’t work, sometimes the top one won’t work even if you shoot it a bunch and it completely ruins an entire run. (Might be something to do with explosive payload, and this could possibly happen in normal but I’ve only seen it happen in legend)
Please if anyone can confirm these things that would be greatly appreciated, not only for me but for the Destiny 2 community as well.
Def noticed the first two bugs happening at least once or twice. One time my bud and I just got wiped for absolutely no reason at all in the middle of a easy wave. We both just laughed it away because it was so sudden and I’m called for
Wave 50 on legend should give you a guaranteed shiny of your attuned weapon. Anything less and people will just farm 10’s.

This changes nothing it’s still more efficient to farm to wave 10 legend and reset. Wave 50 completion should have the same amount of chest as platinum coil run. This just my opinion though.

I go a do the bounty for the weapon and get my shiny and that’s enough.
Normal Onslaught, Shaxx, and Orange crate can drop shiny weapons. This is huge for any casual and those who are limited from joining allies for any reason in legend version.

So not that I’m a professional but this seems to add more benefit to just doing the 10 round. If they wanted to solve this problem they would have fixed drop rate per boss. First drops 2, second boss drops 3, third drops 4, fourth drops 5, fifth drops 6 - something to consider that’s common sense
I don't think the difficulty scaling is hard enough to warrant that big of a reward. Maybe if it was slightly harder, but each wave is similar in difficulty enough that this current system is fair. IMO

@@ImmolationBloom if you're changing drop rates like that and making it that much more then it removes the excitement not to mention that it completely ruins the grind. The new system they're doing is very good
