Plot twist: Iwaizumi actually felt the same as Oikawa, but thought since they were both guys he thought that Oikawa would never feel the same, and even if he did their love would never be accepted, so he married Oikawa's sister because Iwaizumi thought that it was the closest he could ever get to actually being with Oikawa, and that way he would always be a part of his life. Or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself to stop my heart from breaking into a million little pieces.
Fun observation: Oikawa always craved attention, but everyone else's praises meant nothing to him. All he wanted was for the love of his life to notice him,, he always tried to act cool to impress iwaizumi, but the more he tried the more iwaizumi hated him. He loved compliments.... But the person he needed them from the most, hated him.

So what if Iwaizumi married Mihoko because he thought it would make Tooru the happiest? Like, Tooru thinks the only way Iwa-chan will be happy is if he marries Mihoko. Iwaizumi on the other hand might think that the only way to make Tooru the happiest is to marry his sister, because they're childhood friends+cliche marry the sibling thing.

I didn't mean anything about the type of content creators make, i really do enjoy watching and reading all the wonderful iwaoi content that the fandom produces. i was just pointing out that this ship is one of the angstiest out of anything ive come into contact with in fandom. i just really love these characters and there isnt a whole lot of happiness for them.
