I am excited to make this recipe and and am in the process of doing it as I send this note . We will be sure to use it over the winter months. Thank you for showing me how its done.
Thank you Abbey...I just watched again, now I'm off to the kitchen to make my first ever batch of Elderberry Syrup. After watching this video the first time I dug around in my pantry til I found the hidden bag of dehydrated elderberries! ♥
I make elderberry syrup here ....I add your ingredients but also add concentrated black berry juice ...it adds a good flavor to the elderberry sauce....I also add a couple star anise and a couple cloves....been doing this for years and let me tell you...when you out of syrup...you feel it LOL
Hi! I just found your channel yesterday, and I've been binge watching your videos! They're all things i love, or would love, to make!! I actually ordered 2 elderberry shrubs, and they'll be here next month. Did you dehydrate the berries in a dehydrator? I am looking forward to making syrup, pobably just in a year or two. I'd also like to make tea with the berries!
I don’t have very many elderberries but I’m definitely making a small batch! Blizzard conditions here and I work in a hospital so no staying home for me. 😉
Doesn’t boiling the elderberries destroy the antioxidants and vitamin c? My understanding is those nutrients are sensitive to heat and also American elderberries do not contain cyanide..
honey should be added only in warm ( when it is settling down from hot). honey should never be heated it becomes poisonous. never add it in hot things as well. that's ayurvedic suggestion as well.
Elderberry and raw honey. Absolutely grand. We make an elderberry creamed honey. Folks love it. Thanks, clear video.

What’s the shelf life?
How do you store the finished product?

I forgot to add my honey and refrigerated my elderberry anyway. Can I reheat the elderberry to a low temp to add my honey?
Yes you could!

How much ginger do you add to it
I don’t really measure, I’d say maybe an inch or so
