She had a career going as a performer in musicals/films, so the idea of committing to a show that doesn't focus on that completely wouldn't be good for her initial career. Had she want to continued her previous career path, she would know Dance Moms doesn't give her the ability to do what she did in Matilda, The Greatest Showman, etc. and therefore wouldn't leave it all to be doing only competition dances. The only reason she would do such a thing is if she wanted to become like the OG girls of previous seasons, specifically JoJo Siwa, which is reality TV fame with a sprinkle of dancing.

I do feel this season was so much faker. The flow of everything is just off. I think of creating unnecessary drama, they could provide the girls with real opportunities. Like the previous seasons, except it's real. Example auditions , music videos and more. People will get sick of just mothers fighting every episode. They need one where they all have fun .
I haven’t even seen the newest episode yet because it’s so boring now, it’s just the moms fighting. The first 7 seasons had more dancing, more opportunities other than dance (singing, music videos, acting, auditions, etc.), and even just showing the girls having fun outside of dance!

GiaNina was absolutely not fired from Matilda. I'm pretty sure she was there until the final performance, when Matilda closed on Broadway. It's also possible that she grew too tall, or that her contract was up. The creative team were VERY protective of the kids in the show, and followed several rules that the show in England had for their kids (the child labour laws are quite a bit more strict there). None of the children in Matilda were allowed to greet fans or sign autographs, and the 4 girls that shared the role of Matilda were only allowed to stay for one year so that they didn't burn out, even if they were still short enough to play the role. So I'm sure that the other kid roles were similar; that they only had a certain amount of time with the show, so that they didn't burn out and had time to be 'normal' kids

Another Matilda fan here! Gia was definitely NOT fired--- she had a long run at Matilda, and it's clear that everyone loved her there! You're right: with child actors, height and age requirements can be really strict for roles. Gia likely had to leave once she no longer met height requirements (or because a contract was up and they were afraid she would grow too much, so they wouldn't let her stay any longer/renew the contract). Especially since the role Gia played required her to be short enough to be thrown around by the show's villain!
Yes! I’ve spoken with her at conventions, and she’s always been super sweet! She ‘pushes’ her daughter in a motivational way (such as telling her to remember her corrections, and how she loves her) but nowhere NEAR the show

R Burb probably because the producers like to cause chaos by making people leave. So the contract probably states they can be fired for any reason.Also some of the kids have worked professionally so they probably have standing contracts with agents.
The kids who only appeared in 1 episode it was bc they gave them a 1 episode contract And ellie had a 5 episodes one (I think it was 5 haha) The ones who leave aren’t permanent and they just have 1 or a couple episodes in the contract
Yes - Gia probably outgrew the role. I have been in the final round of auditions for Matilda the Musical and the UK tour and it is a great achievement for anyone to stay running for over 6 months ( this is when the child cast will switch ) . Sometimes, if an actor is particularly great, or still fits the part then they will be kept on, but it is unlikely. So Gia was definitely not kicked off, otherwise she would have finished her run way before.
It's such a minuscule thing compared to everything else you mentioned in the video, but all the slow-mo shots of the dancers walking/dancing (the Bermuda Triangle dance immediately comes to mind) really shows how over-edited the show actually is now.
It was really hard to watch season 8, because you could tell how fake the drama was. It was also really annoying when the moms were yelling at Michelle for studio 19 coming, which she could not control
Especially in front of sarah. The other moms knew for the most part not to fight in front of the kids. (Kira, Holly, and Melissa have said it on camera to newer moms, to say a few)
Stacey and Yolanda have also said in a video reacting to dance moms that they would just pick fights to get the producers attention and pull random faces. Majority of their fights were fake.
actually was invited to compete against them in a comp for season 8 and let me tell you the producers were absolutely outrageous...for a couple “fights” we were allowed to stand in the background as long as we didn’t film or talk and the producers literally were yelling at the moms and shouting commands and what to say. A couple times a mom would be told to say something outrageous and the cast would burst into laughter while the producers tried to yell at them to get back on track. It was pretty fun to watch and all the dancers and Abby were really sweet when the cameras weren’t rolling. The only thing that wasn’t as fake as the old seasons were the competitions which were actually completely real...they got to invite whichever studios they wanted to go but the judges and scores were real (surprisingly). But with them allowing to invite which ever studios they wanted seemed to cause lots of drama (mainly studio 19) and probably accounted for the losing streak because they usually didn’t go against average studios this time.
I was literally going to say, i don't think she was fired from broadway, she probably just grew out of the role, and the Casting people wanted fresh faces, it's not that uncommon on Broadway, especially when someones had a long run in the same role. Havent seen the show yet only clips. But man that Cake scene looks so fake. I dont think producers understand what people want to see, i dont wanna watch fights and agruments all the time, in every episode, its so stupid, i cant even watch the season 6/7 of Dance moms anymore, its too overloaded with fights and making everyone cry, it's like really no one can be friends. I just watched dance moms again from season 1 and I couldn't help but notice that when Yolanda and Elliana first joined the show in season 4 of 5 Yolanda was super quite and she never caused any drama. She was also super sweet and supportive towards the other mini's and juniors and their mothers. This again proves thar Yolanda wasn't the "witch" that everyone thougth she was. I feel so bad for her and Elliana for all that. :(

Do something about Ashley and Tricia's behavior. In the beginning they were both among the "peacemaker" group with Ann, but after Tricia came back and started on Episode 10 they both went from cool and chill to insane. It's pretty obvious the producers are forcing Ashley and Tricia to do this. Like why would people just go insane over the span of a week for no apoarent reason? Also most people dont care about the drama. I only watch it for the dancing/inspiration to choreograph dances. I was introduced to Dance Moms after the Chandelier video since it was my favorite song at the time.

Wow great call on the Instagram stuff. OK. I attended a recent S8 competition with friends who compete at a local studio. They were told they would be the rivals, and were told they would be recording talking head segments to camera and to bring their best numbers because they would be going head-to-head with the ALDC. A few routines were definitely filmed, but obviously none of it aired. Then out in the hallway all the screaming and yelling happened and the cameras were following Studio 19 and it was obvious that there was no intention of highlighting my friend’s studio. We wondered how many other nationally known studios were mislead the same way, because there’s no way they would have shown up just to be in the background.
Hey just want to say I was in the Matilda the musical fandom and Gia was neither hard to work with or fired !!! We have never heard any of these so called rumours and a lot of fans were good friends with the cast members and parents. All the children have contracts which due to child labour laws have rules and each child’s contract is different depending on age etc. There is absolutely no way if she was “difficult to work with” a show like Matilda would keep her. If you’ve seen the show you would know there’s no room for messing and everyone involved in the show are extremely close ❤️ also a part in the show called the thripp throw that needs a specific height, (search it and you’ll know what I mean)
You can definitely tell this season was meant to be more dramatic Bc the producers had to know their viewership would be waaay down as they’re almost all new dancers. I definitely think this is why the interview scenes were with both the mother and child, as then they could also include the child’s input in the momma-drama and stir the pot more!
As much as I love the dances, I have to admit that someone should make a petition that Dance Moms should stop! Relationships have been sabotaged, talents have been destroyed, and a chance to be an amazing dancer has been crushed all because of this show! People kept on saying that Maddie Ziegler is an amazing dancer, but I beg to differ because I've seen amazing dancers who are much younger than Maddie and have even better potential than her! My thoughts on Abby keeps on changing! I don't even know if she's mean or not! Some girls say the show is a mess, others say it is great. Like come on! I'm not a dancer and I have no right to talk about the dancing world, but we're all here to see kids release their full potential when it comes to dancing. We're not gonna ruin that potential all because of some show that revolved around competing against each other or who is the best dancer among them all!
I felt like in the early seasons, it was trying to show what truly goes on in a dance studio/competition. They're forgetting costumes, they're forgetting dances. We don't see that now.
Something that’s important to note is because Sarah is from Pittsburgh, and because of the studio 19 controversy and drama I can imagine that that relationship is strained. Sarah is now dancing full time with ALDC, that is now her home studio. Whereas all the other girls go home to their own home studios (because most of their moms own a studio) and still compete with their own studio during off season of dancemoms. I think this also explains abby’s reaction to Sarah crying and saying she can’t do it anymore and Michelle coming into the studio. If t were anyone else abby would have flipped but it seems as though that is around the time they decided to be full time at the aldc, which is someone abby wanted from the other kids. If you notice from the promo even though they leave and Michelle has been kicked out in the past, Michelle and Sarah are in pyramid

Love this series so much! I've definitely always thought this season was super fake, especially the whole drama with studio 19. You should do an episode on that one fight Melissa had with the moms about her divorce I think it was. You know the one where she says Maddie and McKenzie aren't competing and calls her lawyer. I've always thought this scene was strange and there was more to it.
Height DOES matter on Broadway!! I tried out for Frozen on Broadway, but they said I couldn’t be casted, because I was too tall for young Elsa and too tall for young Anna.
I was watching this video and one thing came to my mind during the Yolanda portion. When Abby tells Sarah she "can't be here today" after Abby had an argument with Sarah's mom, Sarah goes back out. Yolanda is the first one to notice and comfort her in that moment.
The producers have completely ruined the show with all this fake and unnecessary drama. I feel from season 1 to about season 4 the drama was more realistic. Like when Christie was upset because she couldn't go home, those were normal things but from season 5 the drama became unnecessary

I'm pretty sure Matilda closed in 2017, so I think her out growing or being replaced like the Matildas is much more likely.

Another Matilda fan here! Gia was definitely NOT fired--- she had a long run at Matilda, and it's clear that everyone loved her there! You're right: with child actors, height and age requirements can be really strict for roles. Gia likely had to leave once she no longer met height requirements (or because a contract was up and they were afraid she would grow too much, so they wouldn't let her stay any longer/renew the contract). Especially since the role Gia played required her to be short enough to be thrown around by the show's villain!

R Burb probably because the producers like to cause chaos by making people leave. So the contract probably states they can be fired for any reason.Also some of the kids have worked professionally so they probably have standing contracts with agents.

Yes - Gia probably outgrew the role. I have been in the final round of auditions for Matilda the Musical and the UK tour and it is a great achievement for anyone to stay running for over 6 months ( this is when the child cast will switch ) . Sometimes, if an actor is particularly great, or still fits the part then they will be kept on, but it is unlikely. So Gia was definitely not kicked off, otherwise she would have finished her run way before.
It's such a minuscule thing compared to everything else you mentioned in the video, but all the slow-mo shots of the dancers walking/dancing (the Bermuda Triangle dance immediately comes to mind) really shows how over-edited the show actually is now.

It was really hard to watch season 8, because you could tell how fake the drama was. It was also really annoying when the moms were yelling at Michelle for studio 19 coming, which she could not control
Especially in front of sarah. The other moms knew for the most part not to fight in front of the kids. (Kira, Holly, and Melissa have said it on camera to newer moms, to say a few)

Stacey and Yolanda have also said in a video reacting to dance moms that they would just pick fights to get the producers attention and pull random faces. Majority of their fights were fake.
actually was invited to compete against them in a comp for season 8 and let me tell you the producers were absolutely outrageous...for a couple “fights” we were allowed to stand in the background as long as we didn’t film or talk and the producers literally were yelling at the moms and shouting commands and what to say. A couple times a mom would be told to say something outrageous and the cast would burst into laughter while the producers tried to yell at them to get back on track. It was pretty fun to watch and all the dancers and Abby were really sweet when the cameras weren’t rolling. The only thing that wasn’t as fake as the old seasons were the competitions which were actually completely real...they got to invite whichever studios they wanted to go but the judges and scores were real (surprisingly). But with them allowing to invite which ever studios they wanted seemed to cause lots of drama (mainly studio 19) and probably accounted for the losing streak because they usually didn’t go against average studios this time.

I was literally going to say, i don't think she was fired from broadway, she probably just grew out of the role, and the Casting people wanted fresh faces, it's not that uncommon on Broadway, especially when someones had a long run in the same role. Havent seen the show yet only clips. But man that Cake scene looks so fake.
I dont think producers understand what people want to see, i dont wanna watch fights and agruments all the time, in every episode, its so stupid, i cant even watch the season 6/7 of Dance moms anymore, its too overloaded with fights and making everyone cry, it's like really no one can be friends.
This year it seems so out of hand, and so Primary School, I'd be so embarassed to look like that on camera.

I just watched dance moms again from season 1 and I couldn't help but notice that when Yolanda and Elliana first joined the show in season 4 of 5 Yolanda was super quite and she never caused any drama. She was also super sweet and supportive towards the other mini's and juniors and their mothers. This again proves thar Yolanda wasn't the "witch" that everyone thougth she was. I feel so bad for her and Elliana for all that. :(

ahh thanks for clarifying the whole matilda thing with gianina, literally no one believes me when i say that gianina literally had two contracts with the show, if she was so hard to work with they probably would have never given her a second contract or even fire her before she even debuted.
I heard rumors that Lifetime tried to get Jordan to take down the video because it could expose how they are still friends. But Jordan denied because he states "You guys shouldn't lie about it anyway". So the video is still up.
Do something about Ashley and Tricia's behavior. In the beginning they were both among the "peacemaker" group with Ann, but after Tricia came back and started on Episode 10 they both went from cool and chill to insane. It's pretty obvious the producers are forcing Ashley and Tricia to do this. Like why would people just go insane over the span of a week for no apoarent reason?
Also most people dont care about the drama. I only watch it for the dancing/inspiration to choreograph dances. I was introduced to Dance Moms after the Chandelier video since it was my favorite song at the time.

Wow great call on the Instagram stuff. OK. I attended a recent S8 competition with friends who compete at a local studio. They were told they would be the rivals, and were told they would be recording talking head segments to camera and to bring their best numbers because they would be going head-to-head with the ALDC. A few routines were definitely filmed, but obviously none of it aired. Then out in the hallway all the screaming and yelling happened and the cameras were following Studio 19 and it was obvious that there was no intention of highlighting my friend’s studio. We wondered how many other nationally known studios were mislead the same way, because there’s no way they would have shown up just to be in the background.

Hey just want to say I was in the Matilda the musical fandom and Gia was neither hard to work with or fired !!! We have never heard any of these so called rumours and a lot of fans were good friends with the cast members and parents. All the children have contracts which due to child labour laws have rules and each child’s contract is different depending on age etc. There is absolutely no way if she was “difficult to work with” a show like Matilda would keep her. If you’ve seen the show you would know there’s no room for messing and everyone involved in the show are extremely close ❤️ also a part in the show called the thripp throw that needs a specific height, (search it and you’ll know what I mean)
Finally, someone who knows what the business is like. Does seem Gia simply outgrew the role. A child performer's dilemma.

You can definitely tell this season was meant to be more dramatic Bc the producers had to know their viewership would be waaay down as they’re almost all new dancers. I definitely think this is why the interview scenes were with both the mother and child, as then they could also include the child’s input in the momma-drama and stir the pot more!
As much as I love the dances, I have to admit that someone should make a petition that Dance Moms should stop! Relationships have been sabotaged, talents have been destroyed, and a chance to be an amazing dancer has been crushed all because of this show! People kept on saying that Maddie Ziegler is an amazing dancer, but I beg to differ because I've seen amazing dancers who are much younger than Maddie and have even better potential than her!
My thoughts on Abby keeps on changing! I don't even know if she's mean or not! Some girls say the show is a mess, others say it is great. Like come on! I'm not a dancer and I have no right to talk about the dancing world, but we're all here to see kids release their full potential when it comes to dancing. We're not gonna ruin that potential all because of some show that revolved around competing against each other or who is the best dancer among them all!
I felt like in the early seasons, it was trying to show what truly goes on in a dance studio/competition. They're forgetting costumes, they're forgetting dances. We don't see that now.
Something that’s important to note is because Sarah is from Pittsburgh, and because of the studio 19 controversy and drama I can imagine that that relationship is strained. Sarah is now dancing full time with ALDC, that is now her home studio. Whereas all the other girls go home to their own home studios (because most of their moms own a studio) and still compete with their own studio during off season of dancemoms.
I think this also explains abby’s reaction to Sarah crying and saying she can’t do it anymore and Michelle coming into the studio. If t were anyone else abby would have flipped but it seems as though that is around the time they decided to be full time at the aldc, which is someone abby wanted from the other kids. If you notice from the promo even though they leave and Michelle has been kicked out in the past, Michelle and Sarah are in pyramid

I was watching this video and one thing came to my mind during the Yolanda portion. When Abby tells Sarah she "can't be here today" after Abby had an argument with Sarah's mom, Sarah goes back out. Yolanda is the first one to notice and comfort her in that moment.
Usually drama like this is the complete opposite where you think they’re best friends but are really mortal enemies. It’s so backwards!

The producers have completely ruined the show with all this fake and unnecessary drama. I feel from season 1 to about season 4 the drama was more realistic. Like when Christie was upset because she couldn't go home, those were normal things but from season 5 the drama became unnecessary
Can you go into the details of how GiaNina is allowed to compete? She performed in the Greatest Showman, performed on Broadway and danced with Mariah Carey. Doesn't this make her a professional? Professional dancers aren't allowed to dance at competitions, right? Should she really be allowed to compete, or does this just prove that Season 8 has fake competitions too?
@Emma Sidea Apparently it doesn't matter, l guess, because if it did then Maddie shouldn't have been able to compete either because she was on 4 TV shows and performed in Sia's music videos. I never understood why she was allowed to compete either.
