    This is a great trick and a fooler. When l learned this a while ago, l was told to make sure a 6, 7, or 8 was on the bottom of the deck after all the cutting and shuffling. The trick worked. 😊👍😊👍😊👍

      How would you do that? Just keep doing the cuts until you sneak a peek at one of those cards on the bottom? Sorry if this seems sarcastic, it's not meant to be. I am trying to learn all these little secrets to go with the tricks as I learn them. I have a habit of messing up and any little secret could help. lol

    Hey, Steven! I'm a recent subscriber to your channel and so far, I absolutely love everything I've seen. But I have two questions with this trick. 1) What if the cards are cut to the point that one stack gets two aces in it and one stack has none? 2) What would you do if an ace is the top card of one of the stacks? Outside of those, this was an amazing trick! Thank you for what you are sharing and I look forward to what's next!

  • @MarcelVanderWerf
    @MarcelVanderWerf 13 днів тому

    Just curious...
    Why do we need to tick/pop/flick a card that we have just flipped? Is this an essential part of the trick?
    I'm afraid it just shows we are just a little too easy with cards. Or does it really serve a purpose?

  • @pperrinuk
    @pperrinuk Місяць тому +1

    Very good. The one thing that I can see, is that in the final piles, if they are cut unevenly (particularly if the first is short), you may run out of cards while counting down... I guess you just start on the next pile (if they have been kept in order).,.

    • @CatLegoDiver
      @CatLegoDiver Місяць тому

      Happened to me twice, when they drew Kings and the piles didn't have 13 cards. In both cases, I ignored those piles but that kind of muffs the performance. I don't have an elegant way out of that scenario, really.

  • @CatLegoDiver
    @CatLegoDiver Місяць тому +2

    Great trick! I've tried it on friends a few times and when it works, minds are blown. The only issue I have with it is if they draw high cards off the four piles. In a couple of cases, they drew kings, (meaning count down 13 cards), and the piles didn't have 13 cards. How would you handle that Steven?

    • @steventaputoro
      @steventaputoro  Місяць тому

      Great question. Simply ask them to cut the cuts as even as possible. This will avoid that issue. Hope that helps!

    • @dalblack8712
      @dalblack8712 Місяць тому +2

      @@steventaputoroI don’t think that’s a good answer. Exactly even is 13 cards per pile. 12 cards is pretty darn close to even. And if the King shows up, then it’s not in that pile.
      Could you not just go to the pile next to where that pile was cut from and count down the 1 or 2 you need?
      Also, if the top card is an Ace, that just goes on the picked card pile. Not sure the best way to present that without ruining the reveal.

  • @joe3394
    @joe3394 Місяць тому

    Good trick, but if you spread / fan the cards out on the table face up, it’s predicated on hoping they don’t see the cards are in order.

      Hi Steven, I hope all is fantastic with you and your family. I love your videos. Thanks for your PRO tricks and tutorials.
      I learned tons of excellent tricks over the past 5 or 6 years, and I continue to learn new tricks and new moves to improve the old tricks and possibly add a few flavors to the new tricks that I learn. I always enjoy helping others like you do. ❤
      I would love to share a few tricks with you sometime.
      You had me fooled with this one, but I kept thinking you were using short cards, short corner cards, or each ace had a crimp in it, which I hate. Lol.
      I recently learned a trick like this that you might already know. You put an ace thru king, all the same suit ( hearts), on the bottom of the deck. The ace of hearts is the bottom card.
      A card is chosen from the top third of the deck, or a card is forced and put on top of the deck. Cut the deck and complete the cut, putting the ace on the chosen card, somewhere in the middle of the deck.
      Turn the deck face up, and you or the spectator can cut the cards. Cut the face-up deck and put the top half to the right. If the card that was cut to is not a heart, continue to have the deck cut until you or the spectator cuts to a heart. When you see a heart, turn that half face down so that card is on the bottom, and turn the other half face down and put it on top of the bottom half.
      Whatever number the heart card was, deal that many cards face down and the last card dealt is the chosen card.
      Lookin frwd to your next video.
      Take it easy, man.

    What do you do if there are less cards in the pile than the top card ?
    Or two aces are in one pile?

    • @scottwesty9568
      @scottwesty9568 Місяць тому

      Definitely not sure if I'm right, but my thoughts are...
      Since it is a sequenced deck, if you end up 1-3 cards short, just make up a good story/ reason to move to the next pile and count down from there? And then continue?
      Since the aces will always be spaced out however many cards down this should correct the off chance there is not enough cards.
      I might be completely wrong, and you just have to find a way to get them to restock and have them cut again.

    Although this would normally only be shown once, is there a graceful way to reset the deck without giving the order away, so it can be repeated? I'm always partial to tricks that leave the deck automatically reset, but this one doesn't do that. Suggestions? (besides asking to leave the room for a few minutes before doing it again?!)

    I just invented a new card trick. You shuffle cards and ask someone to say stop whenever they want. When they say stop, you stop shuffling and you place the top card on the table. You shuffle again and when they say stop, you put the top card on the table, you do that a third and last time. Then you say "Look at this" you turn the three cards and say something that is common to those three cards. For example, "Look at this, 3 red cards, or 3 factors of 15, or 3 odd cards, or 3 figures...".

    I never understood why magicians snap the card. Every time you turned a card over you snapped it. What is the point of they .? Seriously asking. Not trying to talk crap or start something. I ask cause I never do that

    • @sitkeizsolt
      @sitkeizsolt Місяць тому +4

      It's simple. It has several causes. First of all, you are proving that you only raised one card, excluding the double lift. It might be a bit over the top for a layman, but it doesn't hurt to make sure the viewer doesn't speculate. On the other hand, a tiny little effect that simply looks good or sounds good, so it will be cool to a viewer. Of course there are many other ways that look better, I do it differently. I think it's also satisfying. And eventually, I think it becomes a habit, like when we drop cards or something.
