I have had three steroid injections one in each knee and another in first knee injection. The injections did not work for me. There was no lasting pain relief. I had bone on bone in both knees and eventually had knee replacement surgery in both, a year apart. I was 69 when I had my first surgery and 70 for second surgery. Like you said no two knees are alike. My first surgery was a breeze but second surgery was a struggle to stay with therapy and remain positive. For both knees I did water therapy. I am a water baby and I believe this is what healed me, particularly with the second surgery. What a wonderful blessing to be able to walk for more than five minutes. I had my life back! Your two videos will provide accurate information to anyone thinking about any of these procedures.
I have been taking steroid injections on both of my shoulders, Neck and Knees since 2006 and everything this Dr said I can confirm. I ended up getting Total R knee replacement back in 2014. Now both of my shoulders have tears on mjy rotator cuff and it hurt like hell. Still seeking for a good Orthopedic surgeon to explore my options. MTF.
I had injections on my neck huts a bit, but after on the next day I thought I was going to die . The headache , pain on my neck was out this world . I never will do this again
Thank you for your great information. I had a cortisone shot 3 days ago and was almost going to write it off as not working but you have given me hope with the 3-5 days for it to begin to work. Fingers crossed!🤞🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
I've had two injections in my left knee. No real pain, just a weird sensation of fullness. First shot worked well for 2-3 months, the second not at all. That's when I choose TKR.
I think it’s more of a band-aid, to be honest. I’ve had one so far, and it did give some relief for hip bursitis. I also have back arthritis and compression in lumbar region. I had surgery about 27 years ago. I’m in pain a lot, but want to avoid another surgery. I’ve been swimming 3 days a week, it does seem to help. Cycling really irritated the hip flexors. Thanks for video.
I’ve had steroid injections in my shoulder, lower back, hip, knee, foot (plantar fasciitis), and big toe…the shots helped…still had to have meniscus surgery on my knee but that was just to “clean out” the torn/frayed cartilage…
I'm a month in and the shots are still working great for my hands. I couldn't make a fist with either hand for a few years with a "trigger" left ring finger and it absolutely is like night and day. It didn't "cure" the trigger finger however, it's much better with no pain. I'd recommend cortisone shots for arthritic hands to anybody suffering from it, it works!!
That's great news! I had a couple of trigger fingers and got two injections for them recently. My doctor said that the effect of the shots should last about 2 months. What's your experience? It's been 4 months since your comment, are things back to how they were, or are you still getting relief?
@@karlint39 My hands are ok, both middle knuckles are back to stiff and sore but not unmanageable. Trigger finger-gone. At the six month mark I may make an appt. for a shot in each hand for the mid-knuckle problem. Worthwhile though. Good luck!
i just got one going on 3rd day and i dont feel a done of difference yet have rsi and pretititve pressure from gaming injurined below pinky so far i regret getting the injection but will see how it goes on the comming days only day 2 1/2 for me
Does it make the problem worse? My 1st injection was 3 months ago and it help greatly but now the pain is back and it feels worse than I remember. Was in my shoulder.
I am a javelin thrower and I have shoulder bursitis. If I have a steroid injection, will this heal my bursitis or will it just be a short term pain reliever?
if i got one cortizone injection to tendon under pinky will i perminately damage healthy joint in pinky ? only had one shot on day 2/12 but im scared cuz i feel a slight pain in joint ajcent to tendon shot
Yes, but not the same efficacy. I’ve had many patients take Medrol Dosepak instead of get the injection. Some people will see a temporary improvement in their knee pain when they do that in addition to other inflammatory conditions in their body. However, my anecdotal experience is, is that, it’s never a strong affect and does not last as long.
What food will give after surgery,my mom had tomorrow, she is really scared,do u have any tips about food ,she is 64 ,we can do her massage after surgery only foot ?
I got a PRP inj few months ago for my shoulder osteoarthritis (injured 40 years ago)I’m still waiting for a miracle to happen and is also expensive (most insurance don’t cover it)…
This was the most TRUTHFUL DOCTOR IN REGS TO THE KNEE SHOT. Thank you.

I has the same in my hip bone on bone. I tried the injections to prolong surgery didn't work had the surgery.
This is the most balanced explanation for cortisone injections. Thankyou doctor.

Excellent presentation , it cleared up a lot of questions for me !

Very interesting, to me it seems with such limited sides it’s worth a go .
What’s the next step up ?
Nerve block ?

What about after 6 months of therapy, and you've gotten as far as you
can go?

I have injections in my back and they hurt like hell !

Dr. Hurt
Doesn't 🤕 Hurt!!
Thank you sir
It ”works for some time”. Then next it will be operation time.
You got that right.
Do these injections work for alopecia too?
How long does the shot work?
Do cortisone tablets work the same way?

Can I get an epidural injections for the next 20 years?
This Doc know’s what’s up…

Maybe works avoiding all refined carbs ,refine sugars , only drink water and tea.
Why don't u prefer prp of steroid injections?

@@mikebasarabeanu9347 Maybe fasting and avoiding hi carbs can help you.
Great..straight video
His name is Dr. Hurt.😂
Doesn't answer questions. Suspicious.
It's a scam not going to work
Some work and some don't. Some doctors are good, and some not.
Define work.
No makes it worse
They are a TEMPORARY fix
Sadly ,that's the truth.
