The reason why Sam Raimi uses the Delta 88 as his charm cameo in his movies because he said that it was the cheapest prop in his first feature film Evil Dead. When they were filming the Evil Dead film, Sam Raimi asked his dad if he could use the car for his film, his father said yes only if the car comes back in one piece and with a full tank of gas. So Raimi saved a little money from the film's budget on buying a car for the film by borrowing his dad's car that's why he said it was the cheapest prop in the film because it was free. The Delta 88 had meaning in Sam Raimi's life, that's why he chose it as his charm cameo in his films.
Guess he broke that promise to his dad 😂
Next stop Multiverse of Madness.
@@druunderwood5602 My guess is it'll be floating in the evaporating city where Strange is exploring
@@anthonyrodriguez4905 Somewhere in the Multiverse Pablo's Sorcerer Supreme.
I Couldn’t Be Prouder,

Whenever you find Bruce, you'll likely find that classic not far behind....
My first car was a 4-door 1973 Delta 88. Mine was maroon with a white vinyl top. It was a hand me down from my parents when I was 17.
Mine was a hand me down from my mother when I was 16
the delta was in the western film, in an interview with Bruce Campbell they apparently teared it down to it's chassis and used that to make a carriage
So it's a carriage now, does he dress like the amish when he uses it?
I bet we will see this car again in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Of Madness
Me too i agree
This really aged well
We better.
Isn't it in the trailer when you see the street with people running 2nd car on the left might be clutching at straws but it looks a bit like it but it's the trunk side not the hood side you see
can confirm, it's in there
Make sure to blare “Space Trucking” by Deep Purple in your Delta, Delta owners!
why?
At least four of the 1973 Delta 88s were at the CBS Television Studios parking garage (fourth floor) some years ago, all parked together. And there was ONE (although perhaps a coincidental similar color) at an LKQ wrecking yard in Southern California last Fall. There were scrapes and drilled holes all over as if it had been used in film productions.
I read somewhere that it was a gift from his mom, so it has sentimental value, but it's also a symbol of Michigan pride since it was built in Detroit in its heyday.
Wasn't it his dads car?
@@PU8698 Maybe. I could swear I recall Bruce saying it was a gift from his mom. Maybe it started out as his dad's car, then his mom and dad reached an agreement, then she presented it to him.
need to update this with the car in the evil dead series and the dr strange movie
I wonder if the Delta is Sam's daily driver or if he only brings it out for film work. I imagine over the years he's put a lot of money into that car to keep it in good shape.
Damn Sam Raimi was obsessed with that car!!
in evil dead, you forgot season 2 where it gets posessed and kills like 10 people. it had a hell of alot of blood on it when they defeated it.
That would be Ash vs. Evil Dead.
3 things in Sam Raimi's movies:
Bruce Campbell
His car
His brother, Ted
How is the delta still intact after getting destroyed like 5 times
In an interview Bruce mentions Sam has completely destroyed several stunt Delta's but they always keep the OG one intact and maintained. It's latest appearance was actually as Ash's personal car in Ash Vs The Evil Dead.
Lol his car has a goddamn stunt-double... Amazing..
Sam Raimi's dad would kill him if the real car ever gets totaled from his movies
Those babies are incredibly tough. As are similar vintage Cutlasses.
4:16 my grandma had a 83 Cutlass 231 4dr growing up in the 90s same color box taillights with the mini squares in it
This car became a symbol of Sam Raimi movies 😂
P.S It was then Raimi's car.
I want... No.. I NEED a 32nd-scale Scalextrics model of Raimi's `73 Delta 88... It will complete my evil-dead/AoD DnD build... Completely...
Nice! I'm running my group through a 5e Evil Dead homebrew, myself.
@@BillyBobBeauBenson check out Jasco's EvilDead2 boardgame - they got some sweet minis if you can get your hands on one..
I would like Jada to make a diecast version of the Evil Dead Delta 88 along with the Ash Williams figurine as the third American Horror Rides from Hollywood Rides model.
I was just looking last night for an evil dead die cast of it but no go. I do have the Freddy car and figure
I feel like sam raimi just created his own version of the pizza planet truck from disney pixar films.
When i was baby my parents are watching this movie i throught was Moskvich or Volga
нее девятка
My dad had a '73 Delta, royal blue.
Bruce's books go into great detail about the car, actually CARS, plural. There's one original, and it makes a distinct sound when you open the door.
Awesome Stuff !!!!!!!
it was also in his pre-evil dead Super 8mm films.
It's also in the movie Intruder
I hope Sam Raimi is delta 88 classic car 🚗 in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness just like every Sam raimi's car premiere Spider-Man trilogy, the Evil Dead trilogy, Drag Me to Hell, Darkman and Oz the Great and Powerful 👈🙏🙏👍⚡💯
It is in it.
I have a 1972 royale version of the delta 88 it’s definitely my dream car because of evil dead
my dad had an oldsmobile, i accidently slammed the door on my finger. and my cousin and brother almost backed into a tree joyriding when they were 8. oldsmobile, fun times
Spiderman 3 is the Bully picture mate, oughta put some dirt in your eye for showing such disrespect
4:17 There are two Oldsmobiles in that shot, but neither are the Classic. Both of 'em are late 70s/early 80s Cutlasses (lesser/smaller cars than the big ol' Classic).
The grudge (2020) features a brown oldsmobile, cool reference but it’s not the same car
I wonder how many miles are on the car ever since
Great video, wasn't it in for the love of the game too?
Its Sam's trademark the classic Delta 88 looks better then the 98.
And spider man the best generation my day grad 2007 untill this new kid 2019 spider man took over I have hope for him
i think my spiderman theory is that uncle ben get his car form gorage sell with bruce boy over here he said they said he fixed his car in war but uncle ben dosent belived it
Delta 88
I have one of those cars in storage....
Go baby go 📻🍺🚬🚬
Darkman: Hush
Anyone else seen the delta 88 in doctor strange multiverse of madness? I did
I know serial killers buy these cars back in the day
Prosperous families and business men bought these new.
So where is the Olds in 'Oz'?
+mathue taxion Somewhere? He did the same thing he did with the Western and took it apart.
ua-cam.com/video/JehRfK4bqRo/v-deo.html
+mathue taxion olds 455 rocket V8 powered ozzy machine haha
I had a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible Royale with a 455 Rocket under the hood. That is how I ALWAYS refer to that beautiful car when I mention it in conversation.
The one I bought had one in it too. But it was bought to help a buddy restore a olds 4-4-2 and he needed the 455.
Your missing his shirt film "within the woods"
The western was the quick and the dead
I don't think you captured A Simple Plan, mate. Thats not it. Its clearly seen at the friend's house, during an establishing shot, at night.
That car is gonna show up again in Dr strange 2
And it did lol. In the destroyed universe floating
ta yele
Is This car was a private property of sam Raimi?
