- Geoserver can be used by big organisations having multiple departments, and it's never expected that all the people can view/edit/add the data of all the departments. Geoserver solves this problem easily by ability to add roles and data/service rules
Very nicely explained...To The Point!! Thanks a lot!
Excellent and very clear tutorial broh, thank you...
Awesome brother
Excellent
Thanks for info
Thanks bro
One doubt though...Write mode's actual function is not clear. wfs service permission that you gave can be given to Transport-View role as well. Downloading a geojson is not due to write role/mode. It is due to the role set up in services tab for wfs service.
11:10 why transport view or edit guy can view the company assets? We do not give access to it in the data security section?
What is the purpose of groups?
How can I share the data for public user??
Is it possible to restrict a layer in an web application. Only after giving the geoserver credentials the layer will be visible. Is there any provision plz advice.
You could download and install the "Key authentication" extension from the geoserver website. The extension can generate a authentication key per user. This key can be added to the WMS-url (type &authkey=). I found it complex to configure but there is a video in Portuguese which shows the steps to follow its called "como configurar o módulo key authentication do Geoserver". Hope it helps!!
