I know it's supply and demand, but there's no way that tiny trailer is worth $50k.

      I totally agree
They price themselves right out of the market. But then again, people pay over 60-70k for a jeep and then dump 50k into them

Careful we don't end up knowing the price of everything but ignore the value of it. Those that this trailer is aimed at will be quite pleased, those that DIY and make do will not.

@@metaxaanabeer Nah, it's just way over priced and some people just don't care how much it is, they just want it.

Great video… The naysayers obviously haven’t seen one of these trailers in person and fail to realize the build quality, plus the all inclusive top of the line equipment included as standard equipment. All of which makes your extended off grid trips far more enjoyable, especially since you’re able to spend more time exploring remote destinations as opposed to dealing with unexpected repairs experience by owners of cheap knockoffs. There’s a reason OGT owners love their trailers and aren’t afraid to venture off grid thru areas other shy away from… Talk to anyone who’s spent some time exploring off grid and they’ll all tell you the same thing, Do Not Buy an Off Grid Trailer or Camper Built Using Wood, because it won’t last thru the abuse of off-road travel.

When climbing in, you need to kneel on the diamond plate fender - that really hurts my knees. So I carry one of those garden kneeling pads to eliminate the pain. The LED lights over the doors are very bright but they attract the biggest bugs you will ever want to see and they fly right into the trailer. To prevent that, you need to cover them with that automotive self-sticking Amber film. The Propex heater will not ignite above 10,000 feet. There is a simple (easy to install) part that will fix that and Propex, England will mail it to you at no charge. The pressure regulator may also need adjusting up to 13 IWC. It's amazing how cool this trailer stays when parked in the sun. I just spent 5 weeks camping in Bear country and I felt safe the whole time. A bear almost ate me a few years ago while tent camping in the same area and this is why I diched the tent.

    • @finfish260
      @finfish260 Рік тому

@Joe Timmons Too close for comfort and close enough for me to have my finger on my locked & loaded Glock .45. I was ready to let 15 rounds fly. I usually have trip alarms set up around my tent, but I was so tired from hiking that day I fell asleep without setting them. My Razor Edge knife made for a quick exit from the side of the tent. $350 down the drain! It was my fault for leaving my Coleman stove open near my tent. I guess the grease smell was the target. Although I have a trailer now, I'm trying the Pine Sol kitchen cleaner spray, and I keep the galley door closed. Reports say they don't like that stuff.

I bought one of these 3 years ago for $30k and sold it for $30k after a year of not using it (long story). I was impressed with the build quality, but $50k is simply ridiculous and likely reflects their position to "price not to win". Also, no A/C or grey/black water system for $50k! I am happy to see they relocated the power turn-on switch. In my version, I had to hire a carney to use their mini hands to switch the power on.

I once rented the original Expedition model, when the company was still owned by it's founder. It was very similar to this Expedition 2.0 but had some minor differences. I really enjoyed my trip with the trailer and agree it was super comfortable to sleep in. My major issue with it now that the company has new ownership (its been several years since that happened) is that the customer service has tanked and the prices keep going up up up. The original founder of Off Grid sold the company and started another company called Mission Overland, that creates trailers similar to these that have a more thought out design that are far more user friendly inside.

It starts in the low $30k US range, and you can option it up from there.

@@OffGridTrailers it’s an awesome, high quality trailer, just too pricey for some of us (at least I fall under that category)

I could buy a base model Jeep for that price. I would rather do that. Not worth the money they are asking. :)

But on the other side of things my Jeep cost twice as much as the trailer. Its all about what fits for you. I'm happy to show off a little of everything for everyone.

Sorry but anyone that would pay that much for that matchbox has got way too much money and waaayyyy too little sense

Starting at $31k USD? Umm I will wait for someone to sell theirs. I could buy a nicely used 5th wheel that sleeps 7+ (which I would need anyways with 4 kids). Blessed to those that can afford it but too much for what you get IMHO. Obviously a lot going on with a lot of engineering to make it fit on a small platform and be so capable at the same time.

I sure hope you're gonna take that stupid roof top tent off your Jeep since you have the trailer I don't see why you would drag both of them.

Anything you can sleep in from Australia, that is built well. is not less expensive. Especially after your pay to get it to North America.

These are really nice trailers... but 50k... that's fucking outrageous. Not even a bathroom? You can buy a full sized trailer for that..... just because it can go off road doesn't mean the price should be overly inflated. Again, cool and nice product but... yeah, way over priced for what it is.
