    Welcome to the club! I've had mine for a little over two years now and put well over 100 nights in it.

    Very nice rundown. I’m from Juneau, but live in the SW now - Would definitely need that AC option! Keep the videos coming; that was great!

      Thanks for watching. We lived in Juneau for a couple years (too much rain for me). In hindsight... wish we had done the AC prep just in case we ever do some long-term travel.

    that looks great trailer, and the inner side is solid function to use, which is solid box and slee inside would be very safe.

    For the A/C issue just get a 5000 btu air conditioner and make a hole that you can cover when not in use . you can even use your current solar set up maybe add more batteries and panels because a small A/c energy saver don’t use more than 400 watts and since is a small trailer it won’t take long to cool it off.

    Just saw you guys on Notier’s frontiers channel….very cool trailer , I travel on a motorcycle but still like it. I’ll get to Alaska one day… I’m a long ways away , In New Jersey . 😁

      We do some motorcycle travel as well (see videos) but the SUV and trailer works well with kiddo. A long trip from New Jersey just means more sights to see on the way.
      Safe Travels.

    I like that there's no wood in the construction of those trailers got to look at 1 at Overland Expo West '22,and I asked them if I was looking at the Expedition 2.o mini 🤣🤣!
    The way they had it set up ,it looked so tiny inside, then again I live in a 40' Diesel pusher, but that show set up, me being 5'10" and a size 10 foot,I made the comment that I would be afraid of Breaking my Toes every time I crawled into bed,definitely want to Downsize to a square drop or teardrop, but prices are extremely high these days, nice walk around though! Happy Trails to you and your Family!

      We started in an RPOD and this works well for our set-up. If we did longer term travel, I'd probably look for a bit bigger too. Prices are rough but I doubt they will go down anytime soon. Thanks for watching. Safe travels.

    they have lithium batteries with heaters built in and heating pads were underneath them. You could also divert some of the cabin into that area through a small vent?

    • @alaskafamilyoverlandadvent5047
      @alaskafamilyoverlandadvent5047  Рік тому

      Good ideas for sure. We haven't done the lithium upgrade due to our cold climate, but these may be ways around that.

    Great video, thank you. Can you talk about the back bumper of your tow vehicle - it looks like you have something overtop of stock bumper (?)

    Nice rig 👍. What is the brand/mfr of the dbl-wheel folding tongue jack you upgraded to? Looking for something to adapt to my square-drop trailer. Not a fan of the stock one that came with the trailer that has a flat "foot" on it.

    • @alaskafamilyoverlandadvent5047
      @alaskafamilyoverlandadvent5047  Рік тому

      They called it the XO jack, but I think it can be found here: www.arkcorporation.us/products/xo-trailer-jack

      @@alaskafamilyoverlandadvent5047 Thanks for the quick response, and that looks like what I need. Have to do some measuring to make sure it'll work on the tongue of my rig (Hiker Trailer Mid Range XL), which doesn't have a great amount of real estate available due to a large tool box and welded-on spare tire mount.

    This whole off grid things makes me laugh for years I travelled out of my truck no solar needed
    Just slept in it packed appropriate food
    Dig and 💩in a hole
    Drove from Quebec to SC for years I’d say I was off grid but it’s a fad

      Can't say we disagree. We have been camping in WalMart gear and backpacking with cheap gear. But when taking baby out, comfort is important. We also hope to extend our travels to more long-term in the future.

    • @arkos55
      @arkos55 Рік тому +1

      Nothing wrong with a little more creature comfort. I’ve backpacked for years, but a nice mattress, solid walls, and a full galley sure does make car camping nice.
