The Australian AC.I (also written as AC1 in the War Thunder community) Sentinel is a very unique tank. Even ignoring its looks, it has amazing armor for its battle rating. However, it is held down by its abysmal 2-pounder cannon which is not only inaccurate and has low damage, but has mediocre penetration to boot. It stomped for a bit before Gaijin moved it up to 3.0.

Just a note: It's not that the 2-pounder is inaccurate. It's that there's a hidden barrel overheating mechanic in the game. Basically, certain vehicles when fired too fast will become inaccurate if fired rapidly. That is especially noticeable with tanks like the T-34-57. You usually need to wait a bit for your 3rd and consecutive shots for the barrel to cooldown or risk your shot going sideways. Not sure about autoloaded vehicles. I have no idea why it's actually not mentioned at all, Adjustment of Fire also reduces this effect technically, but it's in the game.
Nice tip, didn't know there was a thermal mechanic. (Although I did realise that upping the gunner skills reduces the effect a lot)

that explains a lot, ive noticed it with some other vehicles but not a ton with my t-34-57
@@iffracem Apparently, the 17 Pounder was inaccurate in real life, according to the US Army's tests on the Sherman Firefly.
Didn't notice it with the T34-57, especially since i usally get killed or kill before firing 3 shots inquick succesion

Love this thing. Best AA in the early russian tree, and can pen the ufp of panthers and tigers with the upgraded round (and kill all crew from the kilogram of tnt)

As an Australian I'm mildly upset I cant get this beast any more, I started playing after they did. (Although I did get the 17pdr) It would be awesome to see either the single or double 25pdr in there
The "mk4" we have is sadly wrong, it's a mk3 hull with a mk 1 turret with a 17pdr gun. Saying that I love the tank in game

@Scott yeah. The mk 4 wasn't ever built and design plans show it looking differently with a whole new turret and similar hull design with increased armour and scooter sides moving the exhaust pipes from the top side to reduce fires feom accumulated brush
the little mg on the front always messes with me cause of volumetric, 10/10 tank

@Roniixx i think you got mixed up the solid shot has 91 mm of pen. The M61 APCBC has 104 mm of pen i remember it being this way for the longest while

With the puny gun sounds, no visual recoil, the damage of nerf darts while also being tanky as hell, and along with the chaos going on in these matches made this a joy to watch. Thanks spook
You should try out the SARC Mk VI with the 6 pdr gun. It has great mobility, a solid gun and a shoulder stock stabilizer. It's probably the only low tier armored car that can give the Puma a run for its money.
Dont forget the .50 cal , thats how you get rid of a Puma in the SARC

I would love to see him play it, it's such an overwhelming monster for size but flies by everywhere and has wonderfully spaced crew. It's my favorite vehicle.

@Batzero8515 churchill, turret if your gun is pretty strong, hull if it isnt, gun mantlet if youre close, sides otherwise. tiger I, front of the hull anywhere with any 5.3 tank except driver optics, tiger ii, hull with HEAT and turret with 205+ pen AP.
Could you do a video on the CA Lorraine. I think it’s a really underrated tank with its punchy gun and great mobility, but is really overlooked because of its poor armour and the fact it’s in the french tech tree.

Saw you also playing those Australian planes aswell, wish they could bring the CAC CA-15 (Kangaroo) into the game as it was a prototype Australian aircraft, that looks simular to the P-51 but had no inspiration from it, rather a development from the Boomerang actually, and was fitted with 6x0.50cals, but they also thought of fitting it with I believe 4x20mm Hispano cannons, the plane was also able to carry 2x1000ib bombs.

The AC.IV with the 17 pounder absolutely slaps when played right. It's so much shorter then most other allied tanks with similar guns plus you can hide in the most dirty places and just lay in ambush.
Now if only you could make the entire tank gold. Maybe someone could make a user skin to make the entire tank appear as if made out of pure Australium.

A little bit of knowledge for anyone trying to dominate in mech Arena: get the killshot, javelin rack and at least crow. In other words, anything closer than 75m is probably dead or half dead
Hey Spook why wont u try the italian P40 tank? Last time I played it the aphe was insane it has so much explosive mass
If it pens it typically overpressures from my experience. However the HEAT round performance is random or under performs even on flat armored plates

For the compression I recommend you to upload your videos in 1440p. Because UA-cam uses 2 encoders, and the HQ one is used only for 1440p or higher resolutions.
Even if you record in 1080p, make your video to be rescaled to 1440p, you'll surely lose some quality because of the rescale, but the difference brought by the better encoder will completely compensate.
I did the same with my rallying onboards before I got able to record in 1440p, the results were astonishing

I recommend putting a pair of british helmets over the two turret cheek hatches, it fits the round looks and hides the weakspots.

Ah, the tanks with phallic machine gun covers. For SOME REASON, it was a popular style with a lot of tanks used by Australia in general, even ones not made in Australia (I've seen more than one tank type with it , nearly all British).

Now that I think about it this is a pretty accurate representation of WoT mixed with WT because you need to shoot enemies so much they might as well have healthbars, and the dispersion is just insane.
Strv 42/ DT is kinda crazy man, high pen, good explosive mass and 5 sec reload at 5.0 is kinda OP. A true tiger killer we got here

I personally never use the m6 now that it is 5.0. It has not lineup and the armor is rather bad for a heavy at its BR

2:
slap some armour on it

You should try the Stug III (preferably the short 75 variants), it has over 100mm of pen, is speedy, and is a short lil goblin tank in every sense

Fun facts, the AC1 Sentinel never saw combat, were stand-ins for German tanks in the film “The Rats of Tobruk” and the gunner had to sit with their left shoulder facing the front of the tank. And as an Aussie I am proud of what we could accomplish back then.
Rats of Tobruk should be mentioned more. Completely surrounded by German forces, holed up in a hyper fortified position, low on munitions and vehicles. Proceed to just go out into the bush at night and steal munitions and vehicles from all from the Germans.
To be fair the QF 2pdr irl could go clean through the front of both Chi-Ha variants turrets even without the barrel adapter fitted.
