I play a lot of Muldrotha and some other self-mill commanders. A few cards I've had luck with that you folks might find use for with the Master of Keys: Perpetual Timepiece Wand of Vertebrae Secrets of the Dead River Kelpie I also tend to run cards like [Epiphany at the Drownyard], [Frantic Search], [Thirst for Meaning], [Fact or Fiction], [Intrude on the Mind]. There's another one I've never seen anyone else play called [Vanish Into Memory], which you can use to blink your own creature to protect it, or an opponent's creature for temporary removal.
I've been watching you for a while man. I feel like you are one of the most underrated MTG channels around at the moment. You explain everything in a really concise way that is very easy to digest and retain. Great video bro!
Great video! Master of keys looked really fun when it was spoiled, and it's always nice to see what you come up with in your brews! Keep up the amazing work and thanks for the absolutely banger face reveal.
what a surprise! it is nice to see you. I will say, while I do like this content, I thought that your former style of cards on a white background was always very pleasing to watch especially while you annotated other items on the screen. I do really like that and hope you can still hold on to some of it
I instantly loved Master of Keys. Enchantmemts are so underated. For anyone out there. if you are getting it. PLAY. DRESS DOWN. Its cheap. amd you can recur it on the opponents turn with this commander.
I like the deck tech and I like the new video format :3 What also seems like fun after watching the video is to have Key helm a sort of flashback graveyard spellslinger - couple of the copy spell enchantments are blue, so I think that's a possible route to take this creature 🤔
Fan of the new facecam. Also, fully agree that the backup commander of Miracle Worker is so so cool. People play old stick fingers as a way to mill a ton of cards to the grave. This card is just an old stick fingers but has enchantment recursion, which is awesome. A really good card here i didnt see in the vid (i may have missed it) is Aura of Silence, as with the commander, it be omes a repeatable form of removal that also slows the opponents down
i feel like its the opposite. You Cast the Commander as Early as Possible. The thing with Master if Keys is that you dont really gotta do random mill strategies or go for long game. Stack pieces are just gonna get you targetted unless its CEDH. You have Blue and Black. most of your cards already will discard. A single frantic search and discarding the enchantment you want is already doing a lot. Especially early. if you really want the master of death to pump itself up. rather than pay X. Just run auras and escape them from grave if need be. If he dies early. thats fine. We have blue AND black. Use stuff like Slip out the back. or just reanimate him with victimize. This commander is way too cool to be another lame Stax Deck.
An interesting take! Its for sure a way to go, this is just how I personally chose the build the master, but he's flexible enough to do both! Thank you for your comment!
I am certain they design the backup commander to be more interesting for enfranchised players, and the face commander to be more splashy and enticing on the shelf.
Cool deck, I'll have to adjust to my collection but I definitely feel like Ashiok, Dream Render would be neat here and I do own that one, a little bit of self mill and immediate graveyard hate.
To add to that your face will look much better when looking at the camera from the side this allows you to highlight the contours of your face, remember that the the camera always adds bit of distortion so you'll have to play around with angles that highlight your face better and raising the height of the camera a bit.
I can go crazy with this guy. Morality Shift. Peer Into Abyss and draw a ton of cards then discard into a Skirge Familiar. This guy seems like a blast. Or try and storm off with low cmc enchantments and cast tendrils of agony
If you're looking for some "repeatable" interaction for the deck, can use Seal of Cleansing (Artifact / Enchant Removal), Seal of Removal (Creature Bounce), Fear of Imposters (Counterspell), Angelic Renewal (Protection against removal), Fungal Fortitude (Protection against removal), Necromancy (Instant Speed Reanimate). Other enchantments I found cool were Mystic Remora and Darksteel Mutation. Additionally, unsure if this is gameplay you want to use. But being able to perform an Abdel loop can result in a way to win the game. Abdel Adrian (In Gy) + Animate Dead, Dance of the Dead or Necromancy (In Hand or In Gy to be escaped) + Mana Rock 1. Animate Dead revive Abdel 2. Abdel trigger etb, exiling the mana rock (may tap it before leaving) & animate dead to get 2 soldiers (May exile more permanents for additional etb triggers) 3. Abdel dies 4. untapped mana rock and animate dead etb 5. animate dead revive Abdel 6. repeat steps 2-5 as mana times as you'd like getting Infinite mana + Infinite soldiers + Infinite whatever etbs you can flicker (can break the loop by just not flickering the animate dead or using animate dead to revive another creature) Then with infinite mana you can mill your entire deck with your commander (you can put him back into the commander zone after using Abdel's ability to flicker and choosing to put Master of Keys into the commander zone) Then from there you should be able to win the game with your entire library in your Gy. A route I theory'd up was: 1. Escape back Seal of Cleansing, using it to destroy your animate dead which destroys Abdel 2. Escape back Necromancy revive an etb that can win the game (Grim Guardian or other damage etbs can work here) 3. Escape back Animate Dead revive Abdel, doing the loop previous but with the damage inflicting etb to close out the game The Abdel combo looks to be extremely powerful for The Master of Keys as you are capable of just representing a win with a 2 card combo w/ 2-3 mana all from your graveyard that could be randomly milled
I feel like part of your initial issue is most precons are designed to have multiple possible strategies. For Planar Portal, the Prosper D&D precon (my first) there was a token subtheme, the self exile subtheme, the exile enemy card subtheme, a beatdown subtheme, a ping subtheme and even a goad subtheme. There's so many different mechanics put together because precons aren't just designed as a 'grab and go' deck but a jumping off point. I could take parts of that deck and make an entire goad deck or a cascade deck or a communism deck etc. It's designed so new players pick up a deck and then get inspired to build decks around new mechanics so they spend more. Because of this, the backup commander tends to be a bit more generic or towards a different part of the strategy. The backup for Planar Portals is a goad commander that encourages aggression against your enemies. Otharri is an expirence/combats commander. It's such a different route than the face commander because the face has to be more widely applicable to multiple subthemes.
I always prefer deck techs where the creator has played the deck a number of times and can really articulate the synergies, how others react to it, and weaknesses. For me, this is what made some of your earlier videos (otharri, partners combat tricks) stand out from other creators who are constantly putting out deck techs.
For people that aren’t a huge fan of Lab Man and Thoricle effects but still want a way to not mill out, consider Nexus of Fate. It’s really fun to see people realise what’s happening when your deck size hits 0 and you have infinite turn to see if you can win.
Some of my favorites are Ormos, Archive Keeper, a sphinx that gets massive when you draw with nothing in your library, and Shared Fate, an enchantment that makes players exile cards from opponents’ libraries instead of drawing.
Friend, I get it for the ixaland orzhov and the Boros deck with elthari. But come on how can elenda and azor be more focused in the 99 than your knight eminence commander 😋 I agree though, the Warhammer commanders show this way more. Especially the necrons deck and the empire deck
Can you make a video about silver bullet cards? When to include them when not what is the right number? And how to include silver bullets in your decks that stop what your deck is weak against
Hi Deck Driver, loving the new video style! I was just wondering, where did you get your piercings from? I'm wanting to get similar pieces done as helixes
Perhaps including Nexus of Fate, just to help keep you from milling yourself. A Stone of Erech or Soul Guide Lantern in the event you're playing against a graveyard deck.
I come from the WH40k community side of UA-cam and the only content creators I watch are those who's face I can see. I agree with the face reveal. Anyways, thank you.
@@deckdriverMTG didnt show up on mobile but found it on pc, thanks. I noticed you aren't running vega. Wouldn't he begood for casting enchantments from the yard? or entity tracker.
I was not expecting bro to be so majestic looking
😂 so true
Opposite of the dream face reveal. No one was begging for it and bro is majestic. That stache could make grown men weep
Like the new video style. Having you on screen makes it feel different in a good way.
Thank you!
I play a lot of Muldrotha and some other self-mill commanders. A few cards I've had luck with that you folks might find use for with the Master of Keys:
Perpetual Timepiece
Wand of Vertebrae
Secrets of the Dead
River Kelpie

You are so right when it comes to back > face commanders. I'm very excited to play rendmaw creaking nest
Great video! Master of keys looked really fun when it was spoiled, and it's always nice to see what you come up with in your brews! Keep up the amazing work and thanks for the absolutely banger face reveal.
Amazing videos and great deck builds. You've enlightened and inspired me to rebuild or build fresh some decks to have a better experience playing!
Thank you!
10/10 stache brother. Love the earrings too. Great deck and unexpected face reveal!😊
what a surprise! it is nice to see you. Something I totally missed! great addition
😂 that face reveal was epic, i literally thought i was watching a Salubrious Snail video. Epiphany moment haha so YOU'RE the Otharri guy! 🍻🤘
haha thank you, yes I am the otharri guy! Hope you enjoy the videos!
I like the deck tech and I like the new video format :3
What also seems like fun after watching the video is to have Key helm a sort of flashback graveyard spellslinger - couple of the copy spell enchantments are blue, so I think that's a possible route to take this creature 🤔
I would definitely recomend leyline of sanctity to give yourself hexproof over orbs of warding - just cuz it fits the enchantment theme better.
Literally same, I always love the backup boys

It occurs but its certainly not a rule.
I agree that backup commanders are ALWAYS cooler
elenda the dusk rose it not the secondary commander though. It's carmen, cruel skymarcher
Always looking forward to your videos! Master of Keys looks like an absolute blast
I love this new style of video!! Love your deck techs😊
Cool deck, I'll have to adjust to my collection but I definitely feel like Ashiok, Dream Render would be neat here and I do own that one, a little bit of self mill and immediate graveyard hate.
I would reduce the size of your face in terms of screenspace and put the cards you're talking about in the center of the screen.
To add to that your face will look much better when looking at the camera from the side this allows you to highlight the contours of your face, remember that the the camera always adds bit of distortion so you'll have to play around with angles that highlight your face better and raising the height of the camera a bit.
No I say go bigger, you want your face touching the top and bottom of the frame!!!

Too long my man. just make Infinite mana, mill your deck, cast rea enchant, target ThOracle. Gg.

Cemetery Tampering is a great card for this commander too.
I actually like that card as well.. also it has good spread for stax 😅
my brother you gotta iron that backdrop lol
great content :)
Between this and Aminatou, esper big enchantments are getting some love.
You should have put a warning about how majestic you are
trying new things be hard, respect
animate dead on abdel adrian. generate infinite mana with a mana dork. exile Master. cast Master for huge. Mill your deck. animate oracle.
I like to see your face. It's more personal. Thank you for this video! Greetings from Germany 🥰

Totally felt this way with Rendmaw :)

I got jumpscared and it’s not even October yet. I agree with the others. Stand a bit further back.
Perhaps including Nexus of Fate, just to help keep you from milling yourself. A Stone of Erech or Soul Guide Lantern in the event you're playing against a graveyard deck.
If you build him as a room theme deck then they become "escape rooms" XD
Good choice including IRL footage

Anyways, thank you.
this commander looks like a fun game plan, dredge and fun enchantements
also u look hot damn
fun for you, not for anyone else. board wipes, stacks and counterspells lol
You’re right, bro is one handsome devil for real.
@@FailingHurtz Well, people should build for their own fun. This is not a kindergarden.
Liking the face reveal dude, wouldn’t mind for future vids.
Thank you!
DCI and magic. Nice.
I just straight up pulled out otharri and built a Phenoix deck around him.
It's still currently one of my stronger decks.
Is marchesa of the black rose a good commander ? That can win games ?
He's got a face?! We did not sign up for this!!
I love Elenda too
dude, you look good
okay bro is as sexy as his decks are, W.
I think this is gonna replace millicent as my spirits commander i also run several enchantments and the deck really wants black
Good video's, a UA-cam-worthy face, just upgrade your background and you're good to go man 💪
Nice vid
oh he's handsome
Kokori, I chose Shorikai.
All the people in the discord channel dedicated to master of keys are talking about it.
Ewww Esper lol interesting Zur sidestep
Where’s the deck link?
Now in the description!

Idk where this bias came from…but I was expecting him to be Asian based off his voice ahha dude lookin sharp tho!
Greta addition:
Fact or fiction
Glimpse the Unthinkable
Good card selection and self mill option.
Do you slow down your video?
Oh no he’s HOT!!
Hernandez Frank Wilson Michael Moore Anthony
Commander seems pretty weak to me
It costs a lot and does not much
Playing him for 5 or more Mana just to get plowshared or countered is pretty brutal
For some reason i thought you were asian haha
First
Hype!
Argh I hate the face reveal if you didn't do it from the start, it's so jarring every time a UA-camr does it urgh!!!!
