I set my Nox 600 VDI to block all except the 20 - 32 range and did a section of my yard. In about 1/2 an hour I found 2 mercury dimes and 5 wheat pennies.
Interesting hunt. Great Finds. Now, you need to go back and hunt the stuff that you skipped just to see what you missed! And Bill, that's an Alligator. It has a tail. Frogs/Toads don't have tails unless their tadpoles 😂
Another cool hunt Bill... Here in Vegas, i hunt only 9,10,12,13, on the Nox 800 for gold.. 1-8 are foil numbers.. I have seen James pull gold on a solid 8, but that is rare..11 on the nox is can slaw, 14 are pull tabs, 15 are bottle caps, 16 can be bling or round pull tabs, 17 are can slaw, 18,19,20,21, are zinc pennies, sometimes the 19 can be tungsten rings, 22,23 are aluminum screw on bottle caps, then 24 up are coins for the most part. Gold rings here will always be a solid number, and will be either on the surface or no more than 1 to 1 1/2 inches in the ground. If a signal rings 9,10,11, or 8,9,10, that is can slaw all day long.. Thanks for sharing...
Hi Bill, not a bad hunt. Interesting finds. Definitely go back when you get a chance. You never know what's waiting for you. Good luck on the next hunt. Talk to you guys later. Take care.
Nice video. I just purchased a Nox 800 and definitely interested in your setting when you hunt beach and park modes. Looking forward to the next one. Be safe.
Awesome...congrats... I have tried other peoples suggestions on supposed expert settings and ended up having to do a factory reset. I find the preset programs work great for me... I use to only hunt in beach and park 1 but found I like the sounds on beach 2 and park 2 better. I always do the frequency check and ground balance when I start and if I change terrain.... that is about all I do and it works for me. Also, do a test with a bunch of stuff to help learn the numbers and dig everything to learn this machine. The only number I dislike is 6. It has always been those pull off lids on certain drinks...lol
Thank you. It really helps to see what number you all get while hunting. There’s so much to learn and sometimes it best to keep things simple. Enjoy watching you guys out there getting it done. Take care and see in the next one.
It can be a good thing in trashy areas... however, I am going back to the first park and retracing my steps and will dig everything... wanna see if it was a good or bad idea.
It was a real challenge forcing myself to pass up targets. I am going back to the first park and retracing my steps and will dig everything... wanna see if it was a good or bad idea.
@@DigginSoCal they have been dredging the local harbor here and building up the beach Thought there might be good finds, but no. Just a full bag of can slaw. Well maybe spring break will be better
Good idea to try different ways to hunt. Digging every target is very time consuming and can be frustrating. Thank you for sharing the hunt with us. I may try this method on my next hunt.
Great hunt Bill. I think your frog is actually an alligator. Digging selective numbers is really smart when your in a hurry and want to still find good stuff.
Hi Good hunt, very interesting method you showed. As you said great for your back but you don't know what you are missing. I think you were correct in trying and I agree that its not the best option. My favorite find was the owl. Amazing coins found some old dates. Christine nice to see at the wrap up I think you need to work on the helicopter sound its hard to think what sound you could use. Enjoy your cup cake.🧁🧁 Thanks for the video looking forward to the next one.💍👍👍👍
Yes, Selective hunting has it's place when needed but I did not like passing up targets. Going back to work the same general areas and see what else I can find. Christine at least gave it a try...lol
Nice hunt Bill. There's no way I can skip 20 to 22 signals with the 800. I find too many rings at those VDI's. I was in a park last week, for two days. It has a hill were parents bring their kids to sled. Took me 3 hours just to cover the launch point at the top. Still haven't done the bottom yet. Really trashy parks are impossible to dig everything. Often park maintenance doesn't pick up aluminum cans before mowing. This leads to a proliferation of targets in all ranges.
Totally agree on both the 20 to 22 and can slaw.... However, I am going back to the first park and retracing my steps and will dig everything... wanna see if it was a good or bad idea.
No got to dig them all I do anyway never know what you might miss and not only that is my way to forget all my worries. But you did good thanks for sharing I'll see you on the next hunt be safe and God bless you and your family
Pretty Good Hunt Bill. you passed on the pennies now but you will be digging them later. I like cherry picking it makes for a kinda challenge. Keep on swinging and digging. See You two on your next video.. Peace
I like your logic/idea Bill. I thought about doing that same thing on a few occasions. It looks like you had pretty good success. However, I may be haunted by the things that I did not dig.. My 53 year old back is always asking me to consider being a bit more selective. Thanks for the video! 💪🏻
It is real hard walking away from any target... However, I am going back to the first park and retracing my steps and will dig everything... wanna see if it was a good or bad idea.
Hey Bill! Nice hunt! I have the nox 800, and could you please tell me how you set it up for this hunt?? That would help me out so much! Big fan by the way
I typically use park 2 and in the parks I drop down to 10 sensitivity.... just do the frequency adjustment and ground balance... pretty simple. I did not actually notch out any targets... just ignored the ones I wasn't gonna hunt.
Update on my ring count you two. Found rings 24-25-26-27 a few days ago on one hunt. All junker kids rings found in the grass but glad to be at almost thirty coming into april. Best of luck for April you guy’s!!!
As the saying goes, sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes you don't. It's always good to try something different to see what happens. Personally if I'm in a trashy Park you have to ignore the junk signals to stay sane and preserve your back. But on the beach you've got to dig everything cuz that's where all the good stuff is. I think you're overdue for a gold ring.
Happy April Fools day! It was interesting to see what the selective numbers brought to the table. Christine you need practice on helicopter noises. Good try though.
I love your videos I wanted to ask you guys what you suggest for the best coin Tumbler? I’ve got crusty coins I found on my property that could be valuable I don’t want to scratch them with a regular rock Tumbler . What do yall suggest ? thank you so much God bless
Cool owl 🦉 pendant. Prayers are lifted up for my stepdad who fell yesterday 04/01/2023 in the bathroom and bedroom doorway. He tore two places on the top of his head, on his left arm and right hand. Turns out that he broke his hip and is going to have hip surgery possibly replacement surgery on his hip and fractured the thigh bone that is either going to have a rod or metal plate attached to it early Sunday morning on 04/02/2023. Thank you 🙏 for your prayers this isn’t an April Fools joke it’s real.
love the shirt, looked it up. Just subscribed to your other channel!!! also ive been thinking about getting a tumbler what are you using and what medium-s?
Christine, next time you have a helicopter and Bill expects you to make a noise, try “whop, whop, whop, whop, whop”. Make it sound ‘breathy’. Hope this helps.
I call bs , definitely that socket has to be 10 mm haha just messin mechanic joke . I can tell the passing numbers up was hard for ya . I feel the same but you stuck to it 😂 I never do . Curiosity gets me every time . Thanks for the experiment I enjoyed it .
I think your frog is an alligator he or she has a tail. I like the selective hunt it eliminates a lot of trash targets but you will always find some trash no matter what.
Nice job at your new way bill but I don’t think you will stick to it because if you are a real metal detector you can’t keep letting good numbers go buy. I know when I let even bad numbers go buy sometimes I go back and dig those we are just Cursed that way we just like finding stuff even thou we don’t need the money or what ever we find it’s the find that brings us back keep up hunt 😁

I don't know if I could pass up numbers like that, but you did have a great hunt! You know you have to go back to that park and dig again 😊
Thanks...yes, that is my plan... Part 2 will be hunting the targets I passed up...
I like your new system for parks and understand how you feel about leaving targets unchecked. Nice hunt and video.
It is not in my nature to pass em up but going back and working the rest of them to see if I missed anything
That was definitely cool. I've thought about doing that. And now I think I will. Happy hunting All. Thank you
