For anyone having issues with the Sentret cave (specifically only Sandshrew and Geodude spawning), from my observations it seems that Sentret and Furret only spawn specifically in the cave when its nighttime. It's a bit odd but at least it does work
you had a shiny feebas and a regular one spawned inside each other at one point. the part where you circled around behind the spikes to get closer to the back of the group

There's a cave about halfway between Ogerpon's cave and the Crystal Pool where swinub appear to be the only spawn even without any sandwich power. Should be just as easy as sentret's cave.
Probably the easiest spawn in the game. All it is just swines. You can even try for a jumbo or teeny shiny lvl3 sandwhich here, since encounter power makes no difference.

17:57 I tried testing this during the day a few times with Encounter/Shiny Power 3 Normal to see, and I saw Starly and Staravia spawns only. I did notice though that it seemed like Austin was at the point in the story with the perpetual "evening" time which could be a factor as to why there weren't any spawns. Unfortunately I don't have any files left that haven't finished the DLC story so I can't really test that. As an extra note: Yes, I know about the cave where there are Hoothoot and Noctowl spawns. I just wanted to test Austin's hypothesis for the sake of curiosity.

Can confirm on Slugma being excellent at camouflage because i myself hunted for one, passed right by it, didn't notice at all, luckily stopped at a nearby mound to look around and only then i noticed the yellow eyes 😅 so yeah, try to walk around slowly with this one
Sometimes, your plans and methods work absolutely flawlessly. Sometimes I'm staring at Sentret Cave, ONLY spawning Sandshrew, with a Normal sandwich on.

There are 3 shops that sell table cloths in paldea and there is 1 table cloth as a reward for doing the olive roll challenge, by the bug gym, in under 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Once you bought every cloth and did the olive roll just talk to the chair guy and he will cough up the herba mystica

There is a cave that only has hoothoot and clefairy, on the outside of Oni Mountain northwest of KitaKami Hall. On the map just north of KitaKami Hall you'll see two trees with one on a green patch and one on the mountain side; if the two trees made a line and you followed that line across the river, the cave entrance is on the rectangular green patch that falls on the same line. Drop a flying sandwhich and fly from the cave, across the river, to high ledge that's just far enough away to despawn the cave pokemon. Then jump back into the cave, and spawn some golden owls!

Hey Austin. I just found a weird thing yesterday. I completed my pokedex and an outbreak appeared with a question mark loaded in. It turned out to be an outbreak of authentic Sinistea. I hunted for a shiny with a sandwich and I eventually caught one. I thought this was really cool. Just wanted to let you know that may be the case with Poltchageist and Sinistcha

What I love about the DLC is how the caves only ever have 1 (maybe 2) pokemon that regularly spawn there, so even without a sparkling sandwich you can still hunt them so easily. While I was still avoiding the plot, I found the save under the Hall hill and I got a shiny Sandshrew in like 10 minutes (with a Lv2 ground encounter sandwich, which honestly didn't really change the spawn rate lol) Then I found a Hoothoot cave, the Carbink cave, a fully Geodude cave... It's so dang easy to hunt shinies here, I love it :D
For the Koffing, it knows explosion and memento (and might know self destruct, but from testing it seems to know belch instead). It can also have neutralizing gas which negates damp ability. You can get a drifblim with imprison, explosion, memento, and self-destruct. I don’t believe self destruct is necessary so either thunderwave or hypnosis to catch the Koffing easier is probably worth while
My first shiny in the teal mask was a seedot. I saw them, thought "oh, i don't have one of those yet" then the first one i ran into was a shiny without realizing it. I also found a shiny oricorio, full odds

Wow, that Carbink tip makes things WAY easier. I was just bashing my head into a corner, getting about 2-3 spawns, then running to the middle to do a picnic, which as a side note, getting the right area for a picnic in this cave SUCKS. Hey so for the Litwick hunt in the Crystal Pool, at night Duskull also spawn. I enjoyed doing a double hunt there during the story, and got both in 1 sandwich.

I would like to just add, and I'm sure this is already well known by now but I just picked up the dlc yesterday and noticed this almost immediately, there are caves literally everywhere that seem to only spawn one specific Pokémon or maybe one family of pokémon. I've seen this so far with sandshrew, geodude, and hoothoot. You can pretty easily just drop a sandwich, and walk in and out of the cave a bunch to keep respawning until you get a shiny. You can also just as easily knock out 60 of them to increase the odds until you get one. I did this with hoothoot last night, my first kitakami shiny, and it only took like 20 minutes.
Some info that might help others is that Volbeat and Illumise are pure Bugs, not Flying types, so shouldn’t mess with your hunts for Yanma or Ducklett!

It isn't new, but I think it's the first time to isolate it, between the village and the hall near the bamboo you can now isolate Heracross which in the base game has a lot of other bug or fighting spawns surrounding it

For those who don’t know, if you’re hunting any Pokémon that can explode/self destruct, use a Pokémon with the damp ability in the front of your party
Did this for a Koffing, they have Neutralizing Gas, the first Shiny still exploded
Or save lol. I found a random shiny Koffing (first shiny of the DLC) and it had explosion and memento. Truly evil from the game devs
Use Taunt on Golduck and holding an Ability Shield.
Alternatively, just throw a quick ball

There are 3 shops that sell table cloths in paldea and there is 1 table cloth as a reward for doing the olive roll challenge, by the bug gym, in under 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Once you bought every cloth and did the olive roll just talk to the chair guy and he will cough up the herba mystica
Just wanted to say I have never watched a promo in a video intentionally. Today was different. Really want to thank you for being so candid and honest Austin. Think we can sometimes forget content creators are people with lives outside of youtbe. Ive been through similar things myself in the last 18 months. Fortunatley the health system in the UK is slightly better than the US so have been getting support. I'm actually curious now if that quirk applies for the Hoothoot in this area like you were wondering. Maybe I'll try it later just to see if it really is true.

There is a cave that only has hoothoot and clefairy, on the outside of Oni Mountain northwest of KitaKami Hall. On the map just north of KitaKami Hall you'll see two trees with one on a green patch and one on the mountain side; if the two trees made a line and you followed that line across the river, the cave entrance is on the rectangular green patch that falls on the same line.
Drop a flying sandwhich and fly from the cave, across the river, to high ledge that's just far enough away to despawn the cave pokemon. Then jump back into the cave, and spawn some golden owls!
@Zoreta oh no yeah I've seen the other comments about this. I'm just genuinely curious if that particular spawn in the location he was showing does the same thing as the Flutter Mane quirk he mentioned with daytime.
Does anybody else have the problem with the sentret hunt where it still gives off regular spawns with encounter 3?
Hey Austin. I just found a weird thing yesterday. I completed my pokedex and an outbreak appeared with a question mark loaded in. It turned out to be an outbreak of authentic Sinistea. I hunted for a shiny with a sandwich and I eventually caught one. I thought this was really cool. Just wanted to let you know that may be the case with Poltchageist and Sinistcha

What I love about the DLC is how the caves only ever have 1 (maybe 2) pokemon that regularly spawn there, so even without a sparkling sandwich you can still hunt them so easily.
While I was still avoiding the plot, I found the save under the Hall hill and I got a shiny Sandshrew in like 10 minutes (with a Lv2 ground encounter sandwich, which honestly didn't really change the spawn rate lol)
Then I found a Hoothoot cave, the Carbink cave, a fully Geodude cave... It's so dang easy to hunt shinies here, I love it :D

For the Koffing, it knows explosion and memento (and might know self destruct, but from testing it seems to know belch instead). It can also have neutralizing gas which negates damp ability. You can get a drifblim with imprison, explosion, memento, and self-destruct. I don’t believe self destruct is necessary so either thunderwave or hypnosis to catch the Koffing easier is probably worth while
or just save in front of it...
My first shiny in the teal mask was a seedot. I saw them, thought "oh, i don't have one of those yet" then the first one i ran into was a shiny without realizing it. I also found a shiny oricorio, full odds

I can’t think of any better coping mechanisms I had than animal crossing, Pokemon and my switch. You sir are synonymous with Nintendo in my eyes, always excited anytime there is a new vid drop. Wow, that Carbink tip makes things WAY easier. I was just bashing my head into a corner, getting about 2-3 spawns, then running to the middle to do a picnic, which as a side note, getting the right area for a picnic in this cave SUCKS. Seeing that you can go back and forth between the entrance though? Yeah, huge game changer. Thanks Austin.

Hey so for the Litwick hunt in the Crystal Pool, at night Duskull also spawn. I enjoyed doing a double hunt there during the story, and got both in 1 sandwich.

BotW, Animal Crossing, SwSh, all of it just because you're really good at what you do. i'm sure i'm not the only one. hell, even my gf that only plays animal crossing would tell me to turn it up when i had your other videos on lol. so if it helps, even a little bit, you helped a lot of people get through by giving them something positive and fun to watch to distract them from that dumpster fire of a year. so thank you for what you do and how you do it. and i (well... Warning, if you start a shiny sandwich in Paldea and then travel to Kitikami, little to no pokemon will spawn at all.

Another one worth mention is Poltchageist. In the bamboo groves on the east side of the map, it's the only ghost type to spawn during the day.
If only their was an isolated sinistcha, I think that is the name, spot. Technically there is but you have to wait a while to get one to spawn normally

Just so you know, Volbeat and Illumise are pure bug types, so they should not spawn on your flying sandwiches

I would like to just add, and I'm sure this is already well known by now but I just picked up the dlc yesterday and noticed this almost immediately, there are caves literally everywhere that seem to only spawn one specific Pokémon or maybe one family of pokémon. I've seen this so far with sandshrew, geodude, and hoothoot. You can pretty easily just drop a sandwich, and walk in and out of the cave a bunch to keep respawning until you get a shiny. You can also just as easily knock out 60 of them to increase the odds until you get one. I did this with hoothoot last night, my first kitakami shiny, and it only took like 20 minutes.
You can also shiny hunt Annihilape! At night and have a fighting sandwich they mostly spawn over mankey and primeape!
Some info that might help others is that Volbeat and Illumise are pure Bugs, not Flying types, so shouldn’t mess with your hunts for Yanma or Ducklett!
Just a friendly reminder that Sentrets don’t spawn in that cave in the day. Apparently they only party there at night.

It isn't new, but I think it's the first time to isolate it, between the village and the hall near the bamboo you can now isolate Heracross which in the base game has a lot of other bug or fighting spawns surrounding it
For those who want to know In the base game you can find heracross as the sole fighting type in socarrat trail near the top left corner of the map

I found a shiny Koffing at random while heading up to the crystal lake. Had to do a double take once I noticed the bright purple smoke lol
I had the same, but used an Ultra not a quick for ball homegeny, but it failed and blew up in my face :/
