What do you mean "incoming"? It started to from when the first energy package was implemented and came with the full force with the third. Prices were already out if control since mid 2021 and consumption (eg industry decline) started to fall. Breaking up ties with Russia just speed up the process a lot, but did not cause it.

This was an EXCELLENT and enjoyable interview. I realise, as does Doomberg, that the future is especially uncertain right now (Que Sera Sera...). His honesty about this uncertainity is refreshing, when compared to the bullish (or bearish) views of other commentators, who give less emphasis to this uncertainity.
IMHO we are a crucial geopolitical & geoeconomic juncture. It is possible that all our time tested traditional paradigms will have to be abandoned or drastically revised. The Europeans (I am one), being nextdoor to a major civilisational conflict in Ukraine, have the view that the old system of endless production, the importance of GDP etc is coming to an end. Planetary resources are finite. There is no way that we can continue endlessly churning out goods with these resources, and still provide unborn generations with what they need resourcewise - particularly when the Earth's population is increasing. The remorseless progress of AI and the strong prospect of completely automatic (and autonomous) factories, will mean less demand for human labour of ALL STRIPES.
Individually tailored bespoke products, the end of planned obsolescence, LOWER industrial output, lower DEMAND for resources, lower consumption particularly of energy etc.
The probable Russian victory in Ukraine will add to the deficit & USD inflation problems of the US. NATO will probably go the way of the dinosaurs, as will the Green Agenda and endless economic expansion.
The changes ahead will IMHO be tectonic. Europe and the US will drift apart and look inwards. Global trade volumes will contract. The post WW2 Western consensus will fragment in the face of these new realities. We can see early signs of this in the US, Canada & Australia.
As Doomberg predicts, the EU will change drastically - BUT so too will the rest of the world, especially the US. There is a good chance that the US may fragment as the USD collapses.
BRICS or no BRICS, the writing is on the wall for the USD.
Will global investors wring out the last remaining drops from investments in a rapidly depreciating currency or will they bit the bullet and swap these investments for gold - given gold's fundamentals? The term gravitational collapse comes to mind. Look it up. Its a fun topic, and an interesting allegory for the USD (Slowwly, then instantly).

    • @cliffm6566
      @cliffm6566 6 годин тому

The energy market is splitting in 2, yes China imports a lot of hydrocarbons, but less and less from “western” producers, mostly now from Russia and Iran traded and paid for outside the dollar. China realizes it no longer needs western resources. As far as the Europeans reconciling with the Russians after so much hateful rhetoric and war it’s unlikely though some gas may still be sold via existing pipelines if not committed to Chinese customers. The long term future for Europe is dim as they are no longer industrially competitive and major German corporations like BASF Volkswagen Siemens shutter German facilities and move elsewhere .

No doubt our intelligence services continue their 70 year run of miss estimating Russian capabilities. In the 80s it was always overestimating what they were capable of. Since the fall of the USSR polarity has shifted on that argument. However there is one fact that must be dealt with. If Russia was as capable as you claim then this war would have already ended or moved the Romanian border. The fact that Russia has been reduced to an artillery barrage strategy not much different from World War I or 2 suggest that they have significant internal difficulties of their own. They may have advanced technologies but their ability to deliver it to the battlefield may be limited.

Dah,. he help get moose and squrill.
With all due respect to a talking cartoon chicken global eggomomic eggspert,..,...
(I mean if a Martian scouting crew landed on earth and saw people watching a cartoon chicken for macro advice,.. they would send a message back to Mars saying don't send back up,.. we got this.)
First,... 14:55 Hey Doomberg,.... that's not true at all.
if you go by history,.... Trump wasn't deficit spending 8 to 10% of GDP every year like this insane admin is.
Trump racked up at least half of his deficit spending as a result of fighting the pandemic.
If my history is correct,.. we haven't had a pandemic over the last 4 years causing this corruptincompetent admin to deficit spend 8 to 10% of GDP.
And you're not sure who would be better for financial conditions???????
Elon Musk, although welcome to cut wasted, fraud, abuse,.. is NOT tip the scale between Trump and Kackles.
The key to getting us out of the economicshithoel we're in amd grow our way out of this record debt to GDP ratio and save the dollar,.. is to limit the deficit spending to less than the real GDP growth.
Currently theseMORONS are deficit spending 8% of GDP generating about 1 to 3% real GDP growth giving us an entrenched steady state currency and consumer buying power destroying inflation rate of about 5%. I don't care what they report. This is the reality.
Trump's policies are to close the border for starters to get every illegal dreg off tax payers' backs, open up energy and other supply chain production to lower its and cost and inflation, then private sector pro growth policies,.. eliminating these economy destroying far left policies that Bribem and Kackles passed.
There is absolutely nothing in the Kackles McKneepads platform that would do any of this.
In fact the demcorats would double down on the current country destroying policies.
Second,.. If Russia is such a world military power against NATO with it's GDP 1/15th that of the US and about 1/30th the size of the US and the Eurozone combined,.... why is it still fighting little Ukraine over 2 years after it was supposed to have been able to take out Kyiv in about 3 days?
Can't listen to this vacuum of solutions antiwestIdiot anymore.
If you're going to try to sell yourself as a cartoon chicken global economic EGGspert,.. at least bring what you think would be solutions.

Doomberg has to be really dumb if he won't bet against against human progress as shown by "the Energy Consumption Graphs going up and to the right a 2% a year forever".
His depth of research cannot have taken him to the graphs in the widely-acknowledged Limits to Growth study published in 1972, and the frequent updates on those graphs published and discussed by several people since then.
If that is his true belief - and he specialises in researching and commenting on Energy in the Economy - then he is not worth listening to further!

Perhaps Moscow Bird would like to inform us just what Russia is famous for manufacturing?? It's ICBMs are not working because they have no Rockets 😅 they are made in Ukraine... there helicopters are not flying.... because there motors are made in Ukraine
There ships are not built.... because there motors are built in Ukraine along with the guidance system and most of the rest .....
I would say there are 2 ways you could be this wrong..... 1 your full of shit and have never been to or talked with anyone who has been 2 Russia... or 2 your getting a payout from Moscow
