@@JoDaddysGarage Ah, I appreciate that but I needed it immediately and bought it on Amazon; especially when I saw it was discounted to $365. The band Saw I bought was not living up to expectations. I definitely will try to use affiliate links when I can though!
More info if time allows - I bought the Hercules band saw with stand. Cutting 1.5" square tubing accurately at a 45° miter is nearly impossible. The blade walks. Sure the rollers are shimmable and will help but I don't think it's the right tool for cutting several larger pieces, over and over.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great Band saw and I use it, will use it for smaller things. I don't know what I was thinking that I could get accurate, repeatable cuts on larger items.
Even more info: I also converted an old 4500 RPM 10" Miter saw but could only buy the Diablo 7 1/4" Steel demon as it has a 5/8" arbor. There are only a couple 10" blades with 5/8" rated for high speeds.. Benchmark abrasives does have one but I think it was time to just buy a real metal chop saw. Thanks for the videos and info!
Edit - For anyone wanting this saw, it is also currently $376 on their site. Not sure if you can get the extra 5%, but it seems to be everything you'll need in a saw. Included V blocks too!
Worked for a furniture manufacturer that used cold saws which use a lubricant. The entire base was a coolant reservoir and pump as well as a chip catcher. We called them cold saws. Noticeable is the difference in chips. They were slow speed and ground down iron for a good cut that left more of a fine gravel than those by the Evo. They look more akin to drilled shavings. Blades were really expensive and looked like 5 grit metal like little shallow shark teeth. They could cut iron all day, hot or cold rolled, angle or solid stock; butter. The sound was totally different, deep grinding with the satisfying hum of a three phase slow RPM, high torque motor.
I own the same model and hope to build my own table. Your video of the OEM table gives me ideas.

I'm remembering a few days you showed it setting in your garage, As myself "we" agree legs takes up room.
I understand that for long cuts or heavy steel the support will be needed.
BUT not often enough for my needs I'd suggest locking casting wheels so for when not in use. Only heard great things about the saw.
I'm thinking the legs could be made to pull themselves inward for when storing or cutting short light stock.

Great tool. The stand definitely is a must to save our bods from working on the floor. I think an additional hole could be drilled in the leg locations to draw the legs in for a small foot print in storing while not in use. It would save taking saw off the stand.
I just mounted my saw onto its stand and rewatched your video at 25% speed for the table assembly. You gave many great tips for those who have bought or are considering buying an EVOLUTION saw. Your points are well taken also about the new blade guard which is miles ahead of most for safety.
I will be purchasing the Evolution S380CPS and the stand in the near future. The saw has a square threaded rod, which is a very strong feature.

I love my Evo saw, I have had it almost 3 years now and I am still on the original blade. I have cut a ton of metal with that saw. One recommendation I would add is, that support device you took off to make your cuts is used for square tubing. It is much easier on the saw to cut square tubing on the diagonal instead of flat. This way the blade is always cutting minimally through the steel. Great video.
How to cut square tubing on a miter angle though... Pretty much forced flat? I would rather not use an angle grinder on 18 pieces of 1.5"!
@@JMRSplatt very true. In that situation you could not use the special clamp.

Barry I got one and the old one was fiber blade type and you had to clean the cut for burs and if you when you cut the blade would flex and you'd have to square it up and this saw don't have that problem you'll enjoy it thumbs up 👍

Hey friend if you look right above your chip tray there's a metal plate with four screws. I took it off and made a flange and used some tubing and made a vacuum chip extraction port helps a lot not amazing bit helps!
That is a really nicely thought out and well built unit. Well worth the investment if you do a lot of cutting but a little expensive for occasional use. You made a good score on this one!
I have a slightly less-fancy version of this saw (S355CPSL) and it's been a game-changer for fabrication. This is easily one of those tools where you wonder why you didn't buy it earlier.

How can you tell if the cut square with and eye ball? Other video's indiciate problems with square cuts.
I align the plate with a combination square. Or a speed square.

I have that saw it’s really powerful and u can use either a 14in blade or 15in. The 15 will cut through thicker material. Another thing that Allen is positioned that way for a reason and that’s to make sure the fence is straight or square with the blade so I recommend u put it back. Also I heard guys say the numbers on the mitter is not as accurate but I always double check with a digital gauge. I only have one complaint about it that saw the screw that tightens the material has a small silver piece of metal that thing sucks and it becomes somewhat of an issue after a while. Overall it’s a good machine. Ooo just be ready when buying a new blade so learn how to use it

This is a nice saw but the S380CPS is an upgraded saw to the one demonstrated here. I may do a video on how much abuse the Evolution saw can take. They are well made and quality parts within the unit. The base looks nice too.

Oh shoot I meant to tell you guys it's expensive but if you can get the cash look at their new 14" miter metal cutting saw. I had just bought their 10" miter saw a month later they came out with the 14 inch haha. Looks amazing like I said not cheap though its 850 right now but to me worth the price
