You failed to mention that the Time Steel now has 10 days of battery life. That's not an exaggeration- I got over that on mine after 10 days of normal use. As for being thicker, both are still thinner than the Apple Watch.
I'm getting more and more annoyed at how Will likes to cut in and interrupt Norm with WRONG information. It happened multiple times in this video alone. It does nothing but confuse viewers. If Will wants to cut in, it'd better be with information that's accurate.
+John Ridley Read this -> www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-time-awesome-smartwatch-no-compromises/posts/1308726 Metal Bands: Shipping Separately
Please get your facts right. You do get both leather and metal band. They had issues with production of the metal band, so they are sending that as soon as they can.
A couple of things were incorrect in this video. Firstly the outer bezel on the pebble time is metal not plastic. Secondly the kickstarter backers WILL be getting a steel band at a later date as part of the original purchase. Thirdly it's not "some kind of responsive LCD" it's a color e-paper display like Will said. C'mon guys please do your research before you make a video about it.
I've been on iOS since 2007 (Apple fangirl here) and I still went with the Pebble Time Steel (instead of the Apple Watch) for the following reasons: 1. I swim everyday and I want a watch I can swim with and not worry about; 2. The Pebble is not touchscreen so I can still fiddle with my phone even with wet hands like when I'm in between laps; 3. My days are always long and busy and I get a lot of notifications during the course of the day, so the Apple Watch's very short battery life is really not for me. I am loving my Pebble Time Steel! I'm glad I backed it last April. I was actually looking at the Pebble Time then, and was serious about buying it online, until I stumbled on the Kickstarter page for the Pebble Time. Then a few days after I sent in a pledge, I got an email informing me that there is a Pebble Time Steel and I went with it. I still remember that moment; it was very exciting for me, and I'm glad I made the right decision. Thanks so much for this video! I love your super-geeky channel. P.S. The metal band for the Time Steel is just taking longer to get here, but I'm glad I'll be getting it, because the leather band on mine won't last very long if I keep taking my watch to the pool. Hahaha.
Hey guys you have a mistake. Kickstarter backers ARE getting the leather band AND the metal band. BUT with a delay!!! Due to manufacturing process. The metal band will get to you in another shipment.
With the metal band, it will come to Kickstarter backers later in the year. This is due to availability issues when the PTS was starting to be distributed to warehouses and backers. So rest assured, if you're a Kickstarter backer of the PTS, you will get a metal band. It's the retail versions that will not have the band as standard.
Actually the metal band was free with the kickstarter pledge, however they are having supplier side issues and are shipping them separate from the watch.
Between a Kickstarter update and this article you guys are incorrect. Kickstarter backers will be getting a metal band at a later date as part of their original purchase. Unless there has been an update more recently this is the information I am going off of. www.pcworld.com/article/2954497/gadgets/pebble-time-steel-will-be-missing-some-metal-for-a-while.html
5:02 all PTS kickstarter backers will eventually get the metal band. they just don't ship it with the pebble time steel because of supply issues. (see update #24)
The problem with will is that he doesn't have his own separate videos like every other tested member so viewers see him as an intruder, If he had his own series in tested, like Adam's one day builds or like Norm's show and tell we could know more about him. Maybe he could do some videos about beer brewing.
C'mon Norm, a 64-color e-paper display that can last a week on a charge is a major technological feat. Complaining about it, is like complaining that a smartphone doesn't do as much as a PC. I love mine, and I haven't noticed any problems with the display in any way. The colors are a bit less vivid with the backlight, but in direct sunlight, it looks fantastic.
...They didn't even read the new update for kickstarter backers. Pebble Time Steel for kickstarter backers has a steel band but will be delayed due to manufacturing constraints from their supplier. They will give the steel band in a separate shipment and Pebble would pay the shipment cost too.
I'm lucky one who received leather band as well as steel with the watch. Let me tell you one thing, don't even bother with the leather band. Link steel band is awesome.
What would you guys recommend as the best bang for your buck smart watch? I am thinking of getting one but I really have no idea where to start, most of them seem to be identical, except for the obvious Apple vs Android.
+Andrew Tran My Time Steel was at about 25% when it arrived. I charged it for about an hour, bringing it to 80%, and it proceeded to last a week before the next charge. I'd say they have it about right!
+zHSVClubby I agree. It doesn't look decent or classy for me. Not worth buying. I prefer blocks modular smartwatch. Far better than the others. I like the idea of customization. It supports both iOS and Android platforms. The design, quality and performance are totally a thumbs up for me.
still dont like the bezel design, i love my original pebble and think its better for me than apple watch or the new pebbles, HIGHLY RECCOMEND the fore cal time face from seapea software in the pebble locker app store its free, i get a ridiculous amount of info on my watch at a glance (5 day forecast in symbols and temp's a full month calendar with days of week that you can see, a time and date with the day of week. the current weather/current temp high and low/windspeed a battery and bluetooth indicator and if its night it displays sunrise time day sunset time and what time it updated from the phone all non animated and at a glance!), and got it second hand from eBay for 40 dollars.

The kick starter backers do get the metal band
Oddly All the information he was "cutting" in with was correct . They do call it an e paper display and you do get a metal strap on kickstarted ...

Metal Bands: Shipping Separately
+John Ridley Easily verified by going to the kickstarter page. Backers are supposed to get leather and stainless band. Oh and it is color e-paper. :)
+baitboy3191 Well you did want accurate information....
You do get the band.. Just you'll get it slightly later.
+FRR I received my PTS kickstarter on the 5th September and it came with both bands =]
+Spaghettikid I believe the people who received it earlier will be receiving the metal band later.
rootisroot Yep, they said in their Kickstarter update that was their plan. But from now on people "should" be getting both straps =]
+Spaghettikid I'm still waiting on mine, and the email I got said that the metal band wouldn't be coming for a few weeks after I got the watch.
I had the general email saying they were sending peoples steel straps later, but mine arrived with it on the 5th Sept, so hopefully yours might too!
Please get your facts right. You do get both leather and metal band. They had issues with production of the metal band, so they are sending that as soon as they can.
Even though Pebble went out of business a few years ago I am still using mine today. For the most part it still works with most of it's features.

Norm... Kickstarted backers get the metal band... There being sent out after but you will get t sir
I still have the good ol' Pebble Steel, which looks just perfect. It's not trying to be a smartwatch but primarily a watch with extra features.
Had to come back to this video 8 years later because the comments about will's thumb are hilarious.
With the metal band, it will come to Kickstarter backers later in the year. This is due to availability issues when the PTS was starting to be distributed to warehouses and backers. Pebble time steel would look way nicer if the black area would be all screen.
As a backer you didn't seem to read the updates. You do get the metal band, they are just shipping them later.
Actually the metal band was free with the kickstarter pledge, however they are having supplier side issues and are shipping them separate from the watch.
Just confirming what other people are saying, you do get the metal band, they've just staggered the delivery due to manufacturing delays.
My pebble time is probably my favorite gadget I have at the moment. I absolutely love it
Between a Kickstarter update and this article you guys are incorrect. Kickstarter backers will be getting a metal band at a later date as part of their original purchase. C'mon Norm. Kickstarter backers DO get the metal band too. They had some supply chain issues and are shipping them separately at a later date.
Will needs to do a Tested manicure, whatever that would look like
The problem with will is that he doesn't have his own separate videos like every other tested member so viewers see him as an intruder, If he had his own series in tested, like Adam's one day builds or like Norm's show and tell we could know more about him.

Is there still an 8 app limit?
Great video as always. Always enjoy this relaxed non-formal show :)
hope you'll review the Gear S2 soon

I love Norm's t-shirt! Anyone know what the design is called?
Will you review the time round?
Not that it matters anymore but backers did get the steel band. I should know, I got one.
Is it still posssible to trick pebble connect with windows phone?
Will is annoying as hell, he is not doing anything in this video other than rudely interrupting Norm!
You keep saying the Pebble Time is "plastic". While the back is plastic on the Time, the bezel is metal, just like the Pebble Time Steel.
Pebble time steel also has 3 days more battery life. That's why it's thicker.
What's up with the colors?
The pebble time bezel doesn't look like plastic because it's steel. -_-
Hello, I think this show on a white surface would show less dust and particles as a zoom that is not beautiful.
Thank you for your videos.
anyone know if the pepple smrt watches work with windows phone and if not any smart watches that work with windows phones
I feel stupid.... "Looks like Adam Savage - could be his twin" goes to wikipedia. ooooh
My time steel arrived with both bands. No late steel band like they warned. Prefer the leather, much nicer than the originals leather band.
How the hell can the vibration be too strong!? When there's no speaker on it, I want it as strong as possible.
I love my pebble, actually prefer the standard one to the steel!
the screen is still wayyyyyyy too tiny, can't wait for true color Epaper that's affordable and has high refresh rates
more tested builds pls or adam builds
How is the battery life? Pebble claims the Time Steel lasts 3 days longer than the the regular Time watch
+Andrew Tran My Time Steel was at about 25% when it arrived. I charged it for about an hour, bringing it to 80%, and it proceeded to last a week before the next charge. I'd say they have it about right!
How ironic!Ive been looking at the pebble and the pebble time, which one should I get?
+Agent talapia Dunno, which on would look better with your trenchcoat and scream "I'M AN INDIVIDUAL".
I still have mine but wish they never went out of business
Norm will never say e paper or e ink display.
1:53 holy cow, someone needs to test some hand moisteriser
whos the other guy keep interrupting him. gosh!!!
That bezel is huge, I wouldnt buy this for that reason alone. Makes the watch look like junk.. and is ugly as hell
+zHSVClubby I agree. It doesn't look decent or classy for me. Not worth buying. I prefer blocks modular smartwatch. Far better than the others. I like the idea of customization. It supports both iOS and Android platforms. The design, quality and performance are totally a thumbs up for me.
They hate each other off camera
Anyone going to mention wills thumb desires lotion?
Another pebble review..... Huh but no LG urbane video I see
I have iOS btw

What is wrong with your fingers man?
Hoi hoi!
Disgusting fingers.
These look like lil kids watches. No thanks.
its still a cheaper alternative to the useless status symbol that is the apple watch
So much misinformation..
Thumb herpes is forever...
$250 for a watch that looks like it got its "technology" from an 80's Gameboy? PASS!!
um.......................they want 250 dollars for the watch??
come on~~
+jjshim1 Price is a little steep compared to some of the other smart watches. But compared to watches in general? This is cheap.
+jjshim1 IKR? I mean a stainless steel Apple watch with metal band is only what? $995?
Just don't wear it in the shower, cuz Will thinks that's "Gross".
wouldn't pay more than $100 for this
WTF Will's thumb is so gross
Woo! First?
Secooooooond
Pebble is a joke
Gross thumb
Hoi hoi!
