I hope it was intended. That is a nice change. Some people on Reddit are hating on the change because it doesn't represent her 'LoL usage'. But I bet those are the same people that don't use her in LoR so what is the point in complaining about it? It doesn't make her broken imo.

Fun fact: The Jaul Fish is the thing that killed Pyke
thought they were extremely rare ravenous fish spirits/creatures but the card text makes them seem kind of common? Still fucking awesome to look at the card art for it

@@Ifrekinlovecookies indeed jaul fish are very rare fish and slaughter man hunt it with extreme technique leaving one or two crew diving with spear and rope straping like bait they are. Something is very valuable in jaull fish but i forgot what it is

It's basically just a fish deck. I fucking love it.
I like bilgewater lore divided the water itself into several region like coral reef with fizz, shallow water/sunlit sea with pyke, and deep with nautilus also don't forget the river by the river king tahm kench.

Really cool seeing mogwai’s reaction to pyke’s overall character, I still remember when I first found out about him. Definitely one of the best champions ever made by riot

I mean hes cool but his lore is pretty bad, hes just a shitty mix of Nautilus and Kalista but without an actual good reason. And this is coming from a Pyke main in LoL and someone who FULLY prismaticed his deck, his lore is shit.

2:57 I still remember over a year ago when Mogwai was watching League of Legends champion teaser videos after watching pyke's he said he didn't like it and it wasn't scary at all. Glad he changed his mind after learning more things about him.
I mean I love pyke and all but is lore is just a VERY shitty mixture of Nautilus and Kalista with no actual good reason unlike them.

Nautilus is normally in the ocean, his astronaut skin is just that, a skin. That name makes literally no sense, plus Nautilus is dog shit with lurk.

Been playing Lurk and it's so much more fun and full of stratagem than I originally thought. Definitely one of my favourite decks this patch.
For anyone who did not know the board music is pykes theme (although it sounds a bit different), which you can find on UA-cam. Most of the other Champs also have themes and they are all pretty good. If riot had a consistently good department, it would be the music. My favorite is gnar.

I love the subtle cockiness and joking about his own death in Pyke’s lines. Really adds more to the character outside of his psychotic killing

It's super deadly
Something super cool I found out is you can Lurk 3 times if you have a Rek’Sai on the field and at the top of your deck. She lurks, then triggers because she lurked, then triggers again because she’s attacking. Was able to wipe out a whole board thanks to that

There's a bug you can see that occurs around 30:46. It shows pyke having 5 power despite only lurking twice, and when hovered over, he has another lurk buff giving him +1|+0, which could have been impactful this game because it would have the same power as braum.

I just tried this in a mirror match up and it felt like Runeterra on bathsalts. The constant attacking back and forth. I love it!

Pyke is one of my favorite characters. And conveniently enough they added my favorite skin for him from LoL to LoR! Amazing really.
Also his theme playing with his board is a banger
When irelia was released I played it for around a week but then lost my phone and couldn't play until recently. Well I came back at a wonderful time. Pyke looks sick and I can't wait to use him

I've been playing Pyke/Ezreal or Pyke/Ekko... it's actually not bad. You have access to 3 mana +4|+0 Quick Attack for Pyke, some Predict to get the one or two Lurk triggers you need to get him just a little bigger, then blow them out with Pyke Spell. It's sick. Pyke is my favorite champ.
did anyone else noticed this expansion has TONS of in-game vfx? AND I LOVE IT
Humble tip from an unranked scrub: you seem to underestimate the value of predict in this deck. I run 3 of the 0 cost predict and it has MASSIVELY boosted the consistency of the lurk ability. I even run Careful Preparations, it can be a big help if you hit reksai, triple lurk trigger. Call the pack is also seriously helpful.

Im playing Rek Sai + Sivir and OH BOY it is FUN! LURK keyword makes lvling up Sivir really easy and predict helps you find her when the time is right... All those lurkers whit spell shield and quick attack are REALLY scary
I really like much more the way this version of the deck feels in comparison to Swim's, I think Siphoning Strike really helps with the level ups and cleaning the opponent's board. And the bloodbait feels really nice as a 1 mana secure lurk + next turn pay 2 mana to try and get it in your opponent's turn
I think Pyke was a 1st deck of expansion for most of us. I actully rly like quick sands in this deck cuz many times it let you to suprise opponent with a snicky Pyke lvl up when their are attacking and dosen't expect your Pyke to survive a block.
Mogwais intro caught me off guard and I had to do a double take lol. Gave me a nice chuckle
pyke is the only champ i play in lol cuz im addicted to his theme and lore and everything. when i started playing LoR all i wanted was for him to be added and now here he is!

opponent missed lethal at 42:45 if he used one ice shard he would've dealt 1 more damage due to renekton overwhelming which meant that the next ice shard he topdecked would've made him win with 1 hp left, that's why ice shard is a good combat trick for overwhelm decks
edit: he actually didn't topdeck the 2nd ice shard he had both of them already so he could win in his attack round

Pyke art and animation is sick.
The reason why siphonning strike is played in this deck is essentially because his effect trigger multiple times with Pyke level 2 :)
Ekko Zilean has been a whole lot of fun to play as well, and does pretty well against this deck. Hope to see you showcase it soon!

Damnnnn, I am surprised no one said anything about Pyke board. It literally has his own theme in it 😆
One of my fav mains
Pros: You do bonkers damage
Cons: You lose to control, you lose to aggro, you lose to off meta troll builds, empty hands are not uncommon, if you don't get lurk off in first two attacks you can essentially just surrender, no hard removal besides siphon strike and bone skewer, if Rek'Sai gets stunned before level up you can kiss three mana goodby, etc.
Honestly, the deck is fun but inconsistent. It does punish people who like to slow play and is a complete noob stomp deck, but there are better options for aggro mid-range decks in my opinion. It definitely needs some support to make it great, like lurk draw cards or some good 4 drops with more health. I am still going to play it though.
Haha I had a similar reaction to Pyke's release on LoL and now he's all I play! Glad he made it to LoR cos Rek'Sai was one of the only other champions I played outside of Pyke lol
This deck is very epic thematically and its gameplay is exciting too but it has one serious flaw - it doesn't need a player!

Pyke, in LoL - is a support but his whole kit is for assassination. So yea, if you wanna support but get all the kills while your allies gets gold as well, use Pyke.

I found out in a match against a friend that you can still summon Pyke with Death from Below while you have one on board. That was fun.
Dude i have briliant idea, We can lvl up rek sai on turn 4,5,or 6 when you got idk the name (spell card, cost 4, grant ally +5,+0 from noxus) Thats very good for lvl up rek sai,and idk what champ more good than draven with this deck, i try it on ranked and sofar i get 5 win, 2 lose (you just need lurk 2 time or Discard vision for get lvl up reksai) Enemy not espected that :D, idk this deck more good than reksai pyke, but i use it cause i not have pyke lol
Lvl 2 pyke gets buff from siphoning strike for every enemy he kills. You can possibly board wipe the enemy and grant +12|+12 to your champions.
I was pretty neutral towards Pyke before announcement but once I saw his trailer, animation, and playstyle I fell in love
It's really nice to see Mogwai so happy 😊.
Hopefully pyke grows on you more than he has grown on me playing league, he is a very interesting champ in both gameplay and design

Pyke lvl 2 + Siphoning Strike is bugged right now btw. Siphoning strike will give +2/+2 to champs for every Pyke's kill so you can get +12/+12 with one siphoning strike

So worse versions of existing decks? Fusing two medium decks to make one bad one? Why?
Predict is not a substitute for lurk, because of the loss of tempo and Ekko is too slow for lurk.
And Ekko TF just have nothing going for them... TF as just a survival/draw card is not good anymore.
