I keep telling people they're sleeping on the 0 mana spell, The List. I don't run the Treasure Seeker and the 5-mana Lurk unit is kinda unreliable. Instead I use 2 copies of The List and it does wonders. Wanna surprise level-up Rek'Sai or Pyke on the enemy's turn when you're 0 mana? Need to hit with Pyke twice to level him? You need to make an enemy champ vulnerable before attacking? It's a highly versatile card and it is very useful even just for giving an enemy vulnerable because this deck doesn't have any spell-based removal besides transformed Pyke spell. Try out 1 or 2 copies instead of Treasure Seeker or Xerxareth or whatever it's called and get back to me. I'm telling you, you'll be amazed. P. S. Here's some tips for new fans of Lurk from someone who's played it before it was meta. 1) Sometimes you can play Rek' Sai during the enemy's turn as a blocker and then use Bone Skewer to get her back next round while potentially denying two attackers. If you also have Snapjaw Swarm, you can even activate her buff. 2) Try to keep your predict cards for your attack turns. If you're using Predict cards on enemy turns, use that opportunity to put a non-lurk card on top of your deck to increase your chances of Lurk later down the line (unless you really don't want the card). 3) Both Rek'Sai's and Pyke's signature spell (the spells they turn into when you have 1 of them on the board) will count as Pyke or Rek'Sai if you put them on top of the deck. So if you have a Rek'Sai in hand and on the board and another Call the Pack, you can use Call the Pack to put the Rek'Sai in hand on top of your deck and your attackers will get +3 attack. 4) Rek'Sai's attacking effect isn't limited to 1 activation per turn so if you manage to attack with her more than once per turn, you'll get the +1 attacking bonus each time.
I added one copy of the list to my deck recently, mostly as a counter to stuns for rek’sai And sometimes 0 mana lethal with an overwhelm unit or 0 mana level up Rek sai when the opponent tap out. Only thing i need to maybe think about is how i move cards on top of deck and so on. To get them on loop as much as possible. Such fun deck.
I have some suggestions of deck that I would like your take on it: 1. Catastrophe with Bandle City 2. Noxus Overwhelm Darius (Maybe with Cataclysm) 3. Bildgewater 1 cost
Im a big advocate for 2x bloodbait. Think about it: you are already main decking 3x snapjaw. That is lurking 3x on your opponent's turn. That means faster ramp, better trading, utility. Addig more, aka 5 chances to also get lurk on opponent turns, ASWELL as the enhanced utility of it makes it great and makes the deck more consistent.
The main reason treasure is to have more 1 drops, not because of the spell mana. Lurk skipping turn 1 is pretty devastating (if attacking turn 1), so having extra 1 drops go a long way.
I have two major problem with Bloodbait: 1) Since it's creating cards on top of your deck, it slows down your ability to find/lurk your champions. 2) If you draw it in the mid-late game, it's a low-tempo card that doesn't just eat up one value draw, but *two value draws* since you're stuck with drawing a mediocre 2-drop the next turn. A lot of early cards feel bad to draw late, but playing Bloodbait is an active hindrance after turn 3 or 4.
Appreciate it's boring from a deck building perspective but boy it's such a fun deck to play and watch! Thanks Mog! I do think you should add 1-2 rite of negations though in the current environment (darkness/burn/stuns) as opposed to bone skewer which can really brick you.
Climbed to diamond playing lurk last season but weirdly struggling a bit this season (even though it got stronger!). Like the adjustments to the deck for sure, though - Jaull-Fish was such a brick so often to draw in loads of match-ups, so very happy to see that down to one and fewer Treasure Seekers (card is such a cockblock when you topdeck it!). Wonder if you're tempted to try 2 Bloodbaits though? Card feels auto-win if you get a rek-sai on top with a predict, you can go +4 in two turns.
Feel the Rush Aurelion/Zoe is making a comeback, so if perhaps you don't like that A-Sol remains a 10|10 when summoned via FTR, you can swap a card or two for Trynda. You could try a Thresh/Trynda deck as well. The champion isn't a bad card, but with Sion having came out as well as other more interesting Champions being around, he and Darius are pushed to the wayside. Darius is only good with Thresh, or in pure Aggro.
While the deck building is mostly samey for lurk i find the deck one of the harder more skill testing decks to play. Against hyper agressive decks you often have to trade off boards and furiously look for death from below. The units are not sticky until the late game so control can often keep your board in check and you will have a very narrow window to win before later game win cons beat you. I suppose the slower mid game meta ie dragons darkness is the best it gets for lurk because your threats are more mana efficient and death from below is a beating but akshan/sivir and barriers in general are just not good for lurk.
