I am *OBSESSED* with this mix. That's how good it is. By fusing these two songs, you've literally created something so much greater than the sum of its parts that it defies comparison... Now I can't listen to _It Has To Be This Way_ without it feeling like an instrumental or something, 'cause I keep expecting to hear the _Ambiguous_ parts in it. The songs sound like they were literally made for each other.

I think it's kinda awful. You can still hear the melody from Ambiguous and it gets in the way of It Has To Be This Way's more complicated instrumental.
Tho if it didn't have that, I'd be inclined to agree because It Has This Way has a few too many lyric-less parts
I watched kill la kill after hearing this, and for like four episodes straight I was waiting at the end of the OP to hear "BUT IN THE END IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY" and was caught off guard literally every single time. This mix really is amazing.

You know what? This works so well. Kill la Kill is a parody of over the top shonens while at the same time being awesome and over the top. And Rising is a parody of over the top action games while at the same time being over the top and awesome.
That, plus the fact that they both cover more deep topics while still being awesome over the topic parodies and do it well (for Kill la Kill, there's self confidence/worth and fascism, and for Metal Gear Rising, there's war and society)

These two songs go so well together in every way, even the lyrics. Both songs are about finding someone - in this case, a worthy adversary - that's just like them, that can see their true selves, and can determine their own fates. Two badass sides of the same coin, meeting for one final, epic showdown.

Of course, now that I listened to it, I now know it wasn't a joke at all and actually rather damned good. Fantastic job.

It's been seven years and I still think this mashup takes two 10/10 songs and makes an 11/10.
honestly, all these awesome remixes of the MGR soundtrack is what made me wanna play the game. when i got to the final boss fight, i kept expecting this to play. from listening to it so much

I can see Raiden and Ryuko having an epic battle to the death with a nearly indestructible Nui using her Life Fiber infused body enhanced with nanomachines ("Nano Fibers" if you will), tearing her apart, each wielding a half of The Rending Scissors, until they tear her open and rip out her heart in a glorious display of fire and steel as this song blasts in the background.
