    I purchased the Suzuki Ignis last month (2023) and I am absolutely satisfied! Excellent equipment (I have a GL+) more than enough interior space for 4 people, very large trunk for a "city car". Furthermore, it drives with unique simplicity. It is a city car but I have had the opportunity to travel more than 500 km in a row and the driving comfort, the seating is no less than cars specifically designed for long distances, not to mention the consumption which, for the first time since I drive, are identical to those declared by the parent company. Constant pace at 120 km per hour, average consumption of 4.60 L/100km! On an aesthetic level it is so beautiful and "nice" that every time I look at it I smile! It's my first Suzuki and it probably won't be my last!

      Bought one a week ago here in Australia. Base model auto. Getting over 60 Miles per gallon (Running it in sitting on 80 kph (50 mph) It has a sports mode button on the gear shifter. Only complaint is road noise which can be high on our crap roads. Looking forward to see how she goes after running in.

    I must admit I quite like this honest little Suzuki. As a smaller town car that is also capable for longer journeys it could be quite tempting for some. A work colleague has one and seems very pleased with it for the last couple of years. Thanks for the great review Rebecca.

    Bought an 2017 Ignis (4wd) around a year ago. And what a car it is, drives it mostly on country roads and small gravel roads that in the winter time can be super slippery.
    Its superfun to drive in deep snow, its even funnier when you drive around huge SUVs that is stuck in the snow :)

    I passed my test two years ago and bought an Ignis that was a little over a year old and it has been an absolute joy to drive. Even more joyful was the lower insurance cost on it for a first time driver, and when I get it to 50mph (much to the annoyance of every other driver) the petrol range just climbs and climbs. I keep seeing people refer to the car as “honest” and that is genuinely what the Ignis is - it’s a no nonsense car that will see you through!

    These are the cars we need. Affordable and something a little different. Great for young drivers and older ones as well. Economical and doesn't have a big road footprint. What it isn't though is an SUV. It's a city car really. And that's no bad thing with so many SUV on the road

    • @derhkist
      @derhkist 8 місяців тому

      It is not an SUV, but it will do well in the country roads and the occassional venture off the tarmac and on some dirt road on the way to some farmhouse or something. It is pretty neat for smaller, rural, towns as well.

Been looking around to slash on road and fuel costs so this is a big win on both fronts. Suzuki and i are gonna be pals for a while it seems !

    Okay car, though without 4x4 is a bit too ordinary,
    it got a new powertrain, chassis is a bit old by now, as was released back in 2016, also it really deserve more upmarket and sophisticated displays, especially as a car aimed at younger audience, which is btw applicable to whole Suzuki lineup.

    I've had a new Allgrip for a few months now. It's fine, economical and drives pretty well. In 5000km it's been tested on mixed town, country and mountain roads and some autoroutes. Living in the mountains the 4wd, coupled with decent winter tyres, will get tested soon with winter arriving. The 30l tank is annoying only allowing 500km or so but I guess it's par for the course for such a small car.

    Had mine a few months ago. Great cars. I went back home and hired a fiat 500. Now I realise how well the japanese build their cars. The Ignis feels way better on every level. Personall y i agree the seats need bolsters but I like the simplicity of the dashboard. It weighs 850kgs and has a 4 cylinder 1.2 inj engine. Super reliable. Mine was 5 years old and lives on german roads that are harsh in the winter. Put the car on a lift to derust and seal etc, no rust anywhere. Impressive.

    Have a 4x4 version and it’s great. Fun to drive, like a little go cart and decent space inside. Some of the interior fittings aren’t great and the touch screen looks like it has been bought after market from Aldi. Love it though

  • @bingobongo1615
    @bingobongo1615 Рік тому +1

    Great review but I think you missed a bit about the point of the 4x4. In the UK this might only be really interesting for people offroading a lot but the Ignis really is the cheapest safe new car for people living in mountains with heavy snowfall or generally in rough terrain with low quality roads (if at all).
    Its not the best off roader in the world but I would for sure feel safer driving this down a snowy Austrian mountain or up a badly damaged Greek mountain road than a Hyundai I10 or a Dacia...

  • @davewalker7126
    @davewalker7126 Рік тому +1

    I've had one for a year, (SZ5 AWD) still love it. Some comments - MPG is better than stated, always been above 60. Agree about the infotainment, its truly awful. Speed limiter - a great feature rarely mentioned - go into a 30 zone, as you slow to 30 just press the limit button, easy as that. No spare wheel, as most new cars - I can't live with that, bought a full size from breakers. You can fit it in the back by removing the foam tray but its does take away a lot of room. Handling - I tested the 2wd and 4wd back to back on twisty roads, the 4wd does handle better in tighter corners - plus I've tested its 4wd and hill descent on some tracks, it all works confidently, but very little ground clearance. 5 gears - not a bad thing, my Vitara had 6 and it was a pain all the additional shifting. Auto wipers would have been nice but not available. LED lighting is fantastic, plus it comes on at night if you blip the keyfob when you approach the car. Lane assist warnings and crash assist (or whatever its called) are annoying. often alerting you to dangers that don't exist. Stop/start works very well, seems to stop at the right times and restart is instant with no judder or hesitation. Not sure if the hybrid really does anything at all, in the winter I found it never even worked - dealer suggested it was the low temperature but to be honest I'm not fussed. I think its overpriced (only consider it when there is the almost routine £2000 off), but a great little car.

    • @davewalker7126
      @davewalker7126 Рік тому +2

      @@metalmicky You can, per journey. However it works really well, much better than my previous Vitara, its almost seamless in operation. By Tinny, do you mean the general feel of the car, the doors etc? - No not really, its light but feels solid enough. There is a hill start assist too, holds the brakes on for a couple of seconds to let you pull away. I've never fully trusted it, afraid it will let go but thats not happened as yet. I'm 18 months into ownership now, and apart from the aforementioned awful infotainment which I've pretty much given up using apart from reverse camera, I've no complaints.

We really need cheaper cars in the USA that get good mileage; right now the cheapest Hybrid car is the Ford Maverick (about $25k) which sold out the upcoming 2023 model year in a mere 5 days. The US market is desperate for cheap transportation, but alas we don't get nice things.

    Had this car sz5 in manual for a year, amazing mpg and android auto was useful. The manual gearbox gets annoying to use in traffic, it's notchy and doesn't feel good compared to other cars. Would recommend cvt auto. It's crashy over bumps and sound system is poor quality. The inside windscreen fogs up so easily and car takes so long to warm up, you have to clear it yourself (even with air con on). Also the Ignis forum is just a bunch of weird unfriendly people. Glad I got rid of it to tell truth. If had choice now would go with new Toyota Aygo even if it had less features

      The cvt is absolutely awful on the Ignis....and the manual feels fine. The only part of your statement I agree with is the crashy feeling over bumps- suspension is disappointing. Other than that, great little high quality car that will last yeas and years if properly maintained.

      It's still a new car though? It might of been in production a while but such is the way of cars. Just like the MG4 which is the Mulan from China. Only new to different markets. This also starts at £14k approx versus £24k for the new MG ( among other things )

    Can we pleeeeease stop using that stupid word to defne literally any car of any size, any height and any capability these days, which literally mean Sardine..Uplifting...Varicella, or any combination of words?!!! Can we stop using a 3-word acronym where most of the time, only one word has anything to do with what we are describing?! Where's the 'sports' or even the 'utility' in this car? How utilitarian is a stupid BMW X6? Can't we just say the average car height has been jacked up by 1-2 inches these days and call it a day instead of calling 80% of modern cars "an SUV"?! It's a goddamn boxy city car...just like the Panda, and the Aygo, and the Twingo...
