Here's what happens if you miss the 31st January self assessment deadline. In todays video I'll be covering:
- When the deadlines are
- The penalties that will apply
- How to appeal a penalty
Can't thank you enough for these videos. Without a doubt the best resource for people who aren't confident in filling out their online tax return (like me)

I started doing self employed June 2023, I would like to ask when I need to send my self assessment?
Hi
I have started to watch your videos , regarding the 30 day rule , I cant sell shares to make a gain , and buy them again a week later, should the price takes a dip , does that also apply to a Isa investment ?
Good Afternoon, I received a late fee penalty of 100 GBP from HMRC. Can i pay the same from my bank account mobile application? I am not aware of this rule that even if i did not earn any on self-employment I do have to file the NIL or ZERO tax return Can you please help me out of this. One more thing I received the letter on 22nd March 2024 with a due date of 21st March 2024 and I opened the account in December 2022 and I arrived to UK in Oct 2022.
Can you please do a video on how to file a tax return as someone who is actually self employed and has a side business.
Thanks

Just a very quick question please if that's ok
I own a property which I rented out last year and rental income started to come in July 2023
This is the first time I rented out my property so I have never done a tax return and don't have UTR.
my understanding is that the deadline for the 31 January 2024, is for the tax year of 22/23
Is that correct l, if it is when is the deadline for my returns because I think I would fall in the 23/24 category
Thank u
your income started coming in after the 22/23 tax year so, you're correct. You fall into 23/24
You would need to submit your tax return by 31st January 2025
I didnt realise i need to do this so i need to go back and submit for 21/22 but not sure how to do this is the only way by paper form
If you need help to submit an old Tax Return our team can guide you, send an email to info@tax2u.co.uk
The longer you wait, more fines will be added by HMRC on your late return, so first thing you need to do is to submit your Tax Return for 2021-2022 if that is the oldest one you have not submitted.
Hi Bro really informative can you make one video on doing 2 jobs one as primary (employed) second as a side hustle job (self-employed)how much TAX and NI insurance monthly our yearly you have to pay to HRMC kindly make it Briefly. Thanks Bro! SCOTLAND
On a monthly basis the NI and Tax it will not change if you have 2 or more jobs. Unless the 2nd Side Hustle Job is a under CIS then you will see a deduction of Tax 20% on each payment. The change in NI and also in Tax will be at the end of the tax year once you know all your total income, and will recalculate what Tax and NI you need to pay. If you need our teams help, please send an email to info@tax2u.co.uk
