Thanks so much for this video...simple explanation of how to set this up. There's way too much confusing posts out there that complicate this install...you simplified it so much!!!! 👍👍
It’s hard to explain in text. It would be easier to show you in a video but I don’t have one on my channel that does that. I think sloppy mechanics might, see if they have a video on that.
You say boost psig but select target boost. I don’t even have target boost as an option. Term x max ecu. currently using map signal as a dome and using the Holley software/pid controller. Sounds like we’re having similar issues. I have a 5.3l with a s366. Boost will spike above target then slowly drop too far below. The pid tuning right now is difficult so I’m going to try open loop instead. Thanks Oh btw in the boost tab you can set a boost cut. We’ll have to use ignition cut since not using the built in software instead of revert to WG like I have been using. One down side ..
Yea, I said that incorrectly. yea a 366 and a 5.3 is too small like the 372 is for my 6.0. This helps considerably, I have it set to revert to wastegate over 15psi. So it’s held well. My next video will be on fixing my boost issues. My problem was my muffler. The cutout I put on it fixed it
@@LowBoostFilms 366 is great in a 5.3l. Just depends what you’re doing. Light street truck under 600hp. Really fun with a manual for in town driving. Spools quick. I don’t see how revert to wastegate will work if not using the built in software. Since non of those tables are being used. Because before it was controlling the solenoid but now it’s not. Am I wrong? I’d rather revert to gate. I’m about to go test this open loop out
@@LowBoostFilms First off im no guru at any of this. Still learning. But what I just found with some logging is unless you dont mind making more boost in higher gears this setup will work fine. I could hit my target pretty well in second but third would over shoot pretty fast and hit cut. If i ran less boost in second or more in third this would be fine. But I want constant boost all the time in all gears. Also setting up the table how you did will result in slower repsonce of the turbo. I ended up doing 100% until in the higher rpms then backed it down a bit and then back up a little to counter back pressure. This defintely worked better. Also how the holley does it in closed loop. Im going back to closed loop and messing with the pid more. If you want a really basic boost control use this. Otherwise get a dome sensor or run the map signal back into an input like sloppy does.
@@LowBoostFilms oh btw on the muffler thing. I just went through something similar sorta... had a magnaflow muffler and it was so quiet. Went straight pipe and it was great, just slightly too loud and little drone. Put a 16" resonator on it and now its perfect. Good idle sound, growls between shifts but no drone.
@@or-ian6973 yea that’s my gripe about it, I make more in 4th too, which is annoying because third is slower :/ but it works. Hit me up on ig I’ll send you what my open loop table looks like

I tried my best. I still don’t think it’s a perfect system for me. I really really need a bigger turbo, but this was a pretty good Band-Aid.
All the information needed to build a car is on this channel🔥 keep up the good work!
Thank you! I try my best!
This video was great . Got me 100x further that where I was before I watched the video
Thanks! I’m glad I was able to help!!!
Nice, I can’t wait to do mine. Thanks for the info dude.
No problem, terminator x is great. I love it.
What size hose and t do you use if you have a link it would be super helpful!
Fittings amzn.to/4ePALdq
Hose amzn.to/3Ygfjcq
Ever made a video on your map sensor setup?
No, I thought it was pretty common I just had it on the back of the intake to a vacuum
@ using the Holley 1 bar sensor on the ecu?
@@bnkrdbones43913 bar off the back of the intake
Good stuff
Thanks! It works well so far!
How would I plumb and wire a 4 port Mac valve?
