Her childhood story is identical to my daughter with the acceptation that my family just encouraged my daughter’s “ precociousness” and just called them her “ isum’s, like that’s one of her “texture’isums”. We’ve found CBT and DBT therapy to be helpful. Also, I think it’s helpful to understand “ object impermanence which is like “ out of sight, out of mind.” This comes into play when friendships don’t work out, as long as it’s not in front of her- she doesn’t miss it. So, when the friendship with the other person didn’t work, Patrice didn’t think to go and explain to the friend her triggers….That way of “figuring out resolution “ isn’t a capability they possess. They can imitate and emulate, but to individually reason isn’t a capability due to the frontal lobe of the brain. At least that’s how it was explained to me by my daughter’s therapist. P.S. Baby Girl!!! Good to see her!!
