I think while the pl7 is the best of all ofc, the pl5 is a bargain. It brings really good sound quality and it has the features that the pl2 lacks. This is coming from someone who has had the pl5 for a month or two now. Btw, great review

PL 5 is very nice.
I had the PL2 and had no complaints with the sound. It was loud and clear. LG know what they are doing. It's not so bass heavy but decent for the average ears.

I had a Sonos Beam awhile back. Great sound for such a small sound bar. I haven't tried the others, but I've heard generally good things (other than the price).

Bought last week a PL7 for USD$50 last week and went back for a second one (amazing price) and found it at USD$40. Both brand new, sealed box, full warranty, original. Probably the best deal that I have had in my life!

He’s probably not, you won’t generally find deals like that online though . You have to go to actual stores and check their clearance, if they’re. Cycling out inventory they will all but give things they can’t sell away to make space for new items.

Got the go for 12 euro on White Saturday....Love the sound and the speaker overall...bought it as vacation speaker but its mutch better to listen to then the mini's see witch wins bit love the punch of such a small speaker, its a enjoy to listen 2 and the small design is nice . Since i have no big speaker for the last 3 years....and the nest and mini's dont satisfy me for longer real music listening playtime....and i dont mind no ...wifi...ijust dont
PL2 or PK3?
I just bought this today but I will be returning it. I need a loudspeaker and a useful microphone device. Whilst this sounds excellent and i have no issues with its quality of sound, its absolutely fantastic, clear, and loud but when using it as a speakerphone I give it zero marks. No one can hear me, and the voice on the receiver end breaks all the time. so back it goes because I have no other use for it. I do not listen to music on the go.

Honestly I prefer the look of my PK7W, different strokes for different folks I guess!
I think I'll get my gf a PL5 though, these are way better for portability I think
from what I've gathered from these reviews, having a PK7 myself and loving it after the firmware update, is that the PL7 is somehow almost identical in sound and quality despite the massive size difference. Even it's supposed to have cleaner sounding bass since the passive radiators are aimed more to the front and not sideways. But the lack of aptX codec does indeed raise some eyebrows for the PL.

How do get the aux to work on the speaker, I plugged in cord and I can’t get any sound. Bluetooth works great.

The pl2 sound is kinda sharp the pl5 sound is soft and more base than the pl2 and the pl7 sound can fill the whole bedroom (master bedroom)

Under which circumstances would you recommend the PL2?
If you're more of an outdoors person who needs to take something small and light with them so it doesn't weigh you down, the PL2 would be a good choice for its size/weight. But I'd still take the much better sound of the PL5 over it any day.

No. Like for like pairing only with the PL2 - PL7 to PL5 is possible though.

You are right jay i have the lg xboom pl5 speaker and it is the loudest out of all three

Well for 25euros I can now get the pl2 , for 70 the pl5 and for 100 the pl7 , what about now ?

I have JBL charge 4 and LG PK7..
at max volume the lg has twice as much bass as the jbl.
Maybe Xtreme2 => PK7 but charge4 is not better than PK7.
JBL charge 4 is really portable,pk7 is not.
JBL charge 4 is the best really portable speaker, but LG pk7 sounds better.
I thought I was ready to buy a discounted PL5 but it was so disappointing in the test. Thanks for the info. PL2 sounded like the little guy, PL5 was only slightly better and then the PL7 was very nice. I cringed every time the PL5 came up. Just so deficient.
No mention of the Bluetooth version which is important.
