What a beautiful rendition of this song. Every time I hear this song I think of the story in the Bible when Paul and Silas got thrown into prison and after they got thrown into prison they begin to praise and worship the Lord and God opened the prison doors yet Paul and Silas did not leave they just waited there praising and worshiping the Lord and when they guard came too he marveled at the fact that they did not leave and they were praising & worshiping the Lord. I believe one of the many spiritual things that come from this Bible story is the reason they were praising and worshiping the Lord isn't because they wanted something from him it was because God almighty he is worthy of Praise in all circumstances. If only I could remember that or practice it.LOL Yet I suppose the greatest spiritual lesson is that when they got found praising and worshiping the Lord because the Lord was worthy of praise the guard and his family and many others gave their life over to Jesus Christ. Yet at the same time the Bible instructs us to praise and worship the Lord when the strongholds of this world has come against us. Often times if we go to church and we listen to the preacher he preaches as though God has a bunch of do's and don'ts. However I see it as God has a bunch of get too,s & a bunch of should nots. Because everything that God instructs us to do is a privilege and leads to setting our feet on higher ground so to speak. So we get to not have to!!! And the other things that he says we shouldn't do are the very things that if we do 'do Our feet will be on Shaky Ground. So this God that we praise he's not trying to be mean and tell us oh don't do this and oh don't do that on the contrary he's trying to say when we do the things that are edifying to the spirit then edification is sure to follow. And one last thing when we pray we should note that God is already on the move before we pray. There for prayer there's a two-fold thing draws us closer to God and closer to one another.
