Lance, the First and Last points are very pertinent. My wife and I were sticklers for the last point. We never thought much about the first point. Why? We are both basically Design Savvy. We TRIED to work with the builders design center where we could (not much worked in our case, the builder design center was basically take it or leave it. We Left it. To our TOTAL Satisfaction.) In our case we worked with outside designers and installers to get what we wanted at the price we wanted. So, we bought the home we wanted with the lot we wanted and, the layout we wanted and bought it as Plain Jane as possible and contracted with independents to outfit it as we wanted and SAVED many hundreds of dollars doing so. What did this mean? It meant we moved into our home weeks later than had we went with the builders options. We removed the builder grade cabinets and appliances and donated them to Charity. I think if I recall correctly I mentioned this before but, I mention it again so that your Vlog followers understand they have options. You can let them build your Home where you want with the layout you want. You don't have to accept the builders cabinet, flooring, or fixture options if you don't like them and you think they are over-priced. Hint: they are very limited and usually VERY over priced options. Lastly, what we did is not possible if you are using the builders financing. You must have you own independent financing.
