Thank you!! No, my hair never comes out greasy or weighed down because my hair type need alot of moisture. But if you have a hair texture that gets greasy very easily, I would try using a lighter conditioner.
A lot of people say that water is damaging but after watching this and other videos similar it is very helpful. I wear my hair in its natural curls and i love washing so co-washing is DEFINITELY something i will start doing.
Thank you very much... I am just starting my hair journey and this was really informative. I have been watching a lot of videos and people were talking about co-washing, and I had no idea what the heck it was. Again thank you. :)
I just discovered a great moisturizing conditioner. It leaves my coils soo soft, I kept rinsing it to make sure that I didn't have any product left in. It's by Suave Professionals and it's the humectant moisture conditioner for dry hair. It's really great. I have 4b hair btw.
Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!! I hear so many women saying they cowash their hair, but they never explained how to do it. Thanks to you, now I know!
OMG like I work out 5 days out of 7 and this is like beyound helpful like you explain in very GREAT DETAIL I've been texlax/relax free since 12/31/2017 and I be wanting to wash every 2 weeks but right now it's been 1 week & 3 days since my last wash & deep condition but my hair dirty from sweat being when I moiturized and styled today so I REALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS TIP FOR MY JOURNEY TO NATURAL WITHOUT A BIG CHOP 😍😍😍😊😊😊😊
I've been using it for a year now. and yes, incredibly enough, it works well for natural hair. get the Fig formulation, it's configured for ethnic hair consistencies. try to get it on QVC, they tend to have better pricing than other websites.
Believe it or not...cowashing does a pretty good job at cleaning your scalp. I would suggest using a sulfate free shampoo in addition to cowashing to ensure that sure scalp is clean and focus it just on your scalp. Your scalp may be dry...I would also suggest using tea tree oil on your scalp, it helps with the itching.
Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful to me. I am starting my hair journey and people always mention co-washing... And I had no idea what that was! So thank you!
When you cowash, do you rinse out the conditioner and repeat like you would when shampooing? Or just cowash once and rinse out...? AWESOME video, very informative!
If your texture is curly or wavy, your hair will be in the state that it's in when it's wet. But it doesn't chemically change the texture of your hair. Your hair is similar to how it is when you put conditioner in it and rinse it out.
Your video was very informative and clear. I enjoyed listening to you speak. you spoke very clearly and articulated and annunciated your words. Now I do have a few questions. I already have long naturally curly hair and so does my 8 year old. However, her hair is thicker than mine and I would like to grow mine a little more and thicken it up. so my question is...should we ever shampoo or concerns wash only. If shampooing is necessary how often? can you over co wash. I am a stay at home mom and wife. But, I sweat a LOT for some reason. can I co wash daily or no more than 3-4 times a week. also after co washing can I use a leave in conditioner? I always use leave in conditioner once I rinse my conditioner out. I know you said that you moisturize. If you don't mind me asking what type of moisturizer do you use? please get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks!☺
Very informative video. I think cowashing might work great for some people - and I loved it at first, BUT after maybe a month or so I experienced terrible dandruff which I haven't had for years. For some skin types I think using shampoo regularly is unfortunately necessary. Just a heads up, pay close attention to changes in your scalp when you start cowashing.
This video was definitely very informative for me because I too work out a lot and needed more info on co washing. So thank you! Do you have any videos on how you style your hair(braids, twists, etc)? I do not know how to braid my own hair. Lol
Thank u thank u thank u! I'm thinking abt all natural and I've watched and studied umpteen vids and not one has explained what co-wash means...and then I found u...lol Thank u so much, this vid was great!
No, I don't think it's bad per se...Personally, I try to limit heat as much as I can but if you feel like blow drying, by all means, blow dry. Don't forget to use a heat protectant though :)
and Ive been wearing pony tails with the hair weave and coconut oil on in or argon oil.. will try co- washing to see if hair will grow faster. Ive been keeping it moist but not washin it more than 2 a month ..if that lol,, hay I got allot of hair that tangles easily and I'm studying at night so I'm looking to not waist time doing hair..
Thanks for explaining it so well. I had been thinking of washing my hair with conditioner but was afraid it would not clean it. I bought wen and realized many people cowash
wow.. i already love your personality and this is the first video ive watched by you! also does your hair ever come out greasy or weighed down from conditioner?
finally someone that answered my question about what cowashing means. i love that bit about the gym. im in the gym quite often. i do a lot of swiming;would cowashing apply aswell?
It sounds as if the co-washing product differs from the regular conditioner. Is it suitable or recommendable to use a regular conditioner if one may not have at hand a co-washing product?
Right now I'm using eco-styler gel to smooth to edges and buns down. You can purchase it from Sally's. Dry to damp bun when your hair isn't too wet because hair is the most fragile when it is in its wet state. You can also let it air dry, moisturize and seal and then bun your hair. I hope I answered all of your questions.
Thanks for the video. It was very informative. Do you think co-washing is good for kids too? Want to make sure I'm treating my daughter's hair right and teaching her healthy habits. She's 6.
Michelle, I can see the moisturizing factor to Co-Washing your hair. However, how does one receive the cleansing factor using the Co-Washing method? Are there ingredients in most conditioners that would ensure cleansing takes place?
If you swim in chlorine, I would advise you to actually wash your hair with shampoo because chlorine can be damaging to your hair and you want to get all traces of it out. Just make sure you are moisturizing and deep conditioning if you plan to do alot of shampoo washes.
Thank you! Now I understand the Co-washing method. Question: What is meant by protective styling? Also, I am a new subscriber. BTW - I like the way you are wearing your hair.
Protective styling are hairstyles you wear to protect your natural hair, like sew ins, braids, wigs, etc. They keep you from putting too much strain on your hair giving it a break so to speak!
Hi thanks for sharing. But I'm wondering will the conditioner actually oil your scalp? Is it better better to wash your scalp only with water and your hair away from your hair with conditioner?
Hey! Thank you for the professional videos. Especially, not saying, "baby hairs" :). Drives me crazy! Lol anyway, I've been trying to find a regimen for my daughters Mbl hair. It is so thick and has a zig zag pattern that tangles like crazy. I want to texturize, but very mildl, so u have helped tremendously. Keep making videos and I will spread the word.
Nice video, but you are not suppose to put conditionner on your scalp acutally. Concentrate on your hair and tips. By putting conditinner on your scalp, you firstly block the pores of your hair and plus you take out the natural oils of your scalp which are more concentrate there to help grow your hair !!! *sorry for the bad english
I have a problem I have breaking out since I have been doing this. thought it was the product overload since after doing it I would put grease in my scalp. started using more natural stuff, organic coconut oil, red palm oil (since it's rich in vitamin e).... but found out all these causes break put now I'm using raw shea butter and I'm still BREAKING OUT! please let me know what can I put in my hair that can detangel, moisturize it and NOT HAVR ME BREAK OUT!for sakes it's summer season and I have the body but not the skin to wear the clothes I have 😭
Hi Michelle, I bought the pantene pro v co wash and clarifying shampoo ? Do I use both, is one better than the other or do I use them together ... how do those work?
Michelle B some days I workout up to 3x a day. Should I wait until after my final workout to cowash, or do it after each workout? I have been natural for 3years, but always keep my hair braided due to my fitness lifestyle. I do however want to get away from the braids...baby steps tho. I no little to nothing about haircare.
Why wouldn't you want to wash the relaxed part? I would suggest taking the weave off and wash your hair and then put it back. You want to keep your whole scalp as clean as possible.
yes use a shampoo, but not as often. Maybe co wash every week and shampoo and condition every other week. Use a clarifying shampoo that doesn't have chemicals like sulfates. If you really have a lot of product buildup like gels and sprays then I would shampoo with a clarifying shampoo more often honestly
finally someone tells me what co-washing is.....this clears up my confusion
my sentiments exactly!
Amen.
This video was a perfect explanation!

Thank you!! No, my hair never comes out greasy or weighed down because my hair type need alot of moisture. But if you have a hair texture that gets greasy very easily, I would try using a lighter conditioner.
THANK YOU! I have watched 5 videos before yours, and none of them actually told me what & how. Thanks.. lol.. your hair & skin😍

im a newbie natural so finding your video is a Godsend!!! you were clear and this is very helpful to me. thx!!!!
Thank you for your clear & simple information on co-washing, it really encourages me on my natural healthy hair journey.
Yes, it is great to do both! Make sure you are sealing in that moisture with an oil and you'll be fine.
Watching this in 2020 and thanking you so much for telling me what cowashing is
OMG like I work out 5 days out of 7 and this is like beyound helpful like you explain in very GREAT DETAIL I've been texlax/relax free since 12/31/2017 and I be wanting to wash every 2 weeks but right now it's been 1 week & 3 days since my last wash & deep condition but my hair dirty from sweat being when I moiturized and styled today so I REALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS TIP FOR MY JOURNEY TO NATURAL WITHOUT A BIG CHOP 😍😍😍😊😊😊😊

I finally found someone that explained that perfectly. Thanks, that help a lot 😁

good tip on the sweat! Didn't think of that. I'm a gymnast transitioning to natural hair. Thanks for the tips :)
So glad I found this, I relaxed after 5 years of being natural and I REFUSE to not go to the gym 5 days a week because of my hair.
:very helpful. Thanks so much for this video! 2015 I'm trying to take better care of my hair. So i will be adding this to my hair routine!!!
excellent video, very clear and well spoken. my question is though.. what information do you have in regard to roller setting after a co wash.
Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful to me. I am starting my hair journey and people always mention co-washing... And I had no idea what that was! So thank you!
I'm so glad I could help! Good luck on your transition :)
You are very pretty and thank you.I had no idea what co washing was.
Anytime you put moisture into your hair, you should seal it with something like an oil to keep the moisture in.
When you cowash, do you rinse out the conditioner and repeat like you would when shampooing? Or just cowash once and rinse out...? AWESOME video, very informative!
Thank u so much for ur demonstration on Co-Washing !! I absolutely enjoyed ur video and ur knowledge..........again, I thank u !! Stay Blessed !!

Very useful information. I've heard of cowashing but ive never tried it. Im about to do it NOW!
Thanks for the vid :)

FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!! Very, very informative! I work out 3 times a week, but would like to do more. My worry was my hair (smh...). Co-washing is it!
Thank you so much for this. I'm new to my journey this helped me so much.

This was super helpful, been struggling b/c I workout as well! Now I don't feel bad about co-washing a few times a week! Thanks. :)
Thank you so much for explaining!!! I did it already but had no idea lol. I felt stupid for typing it in but felt no judgement from your video.
Hi, I love your channel, your hair is gorgeous. what do you deal your hair with? I'm trying different products to perfect my regime. Thanks in advance
Thank u thank u thank u! I'm thinking abt all natural and I've watched and studied umpteen vids and not one has explained what co-wash means...and then I found u...lol

Wen is good. I just started using it last week. It doesnt strip my hair, make it feel dry. Its soft. I like the wen :) you should try it
Thanks for explaining it so well. I had been thinking of washing my hair with conditioner but was afraid it would not clean it. I bought wen and realized many people cowash
wow.. i already love your personality and this is the first video ive watched by you!
also does your hair ever come out greasy or weighed down from conditioner?
Your skin tone is so beautiful ..

hey i really love your videos ...
have you done any on skin tips or make up?
Very helpful. If I am putting a rinse in at what point do I cowash? Before or after the rinse/semipermanent color?
Very good clear and understandable video.
Thank you soooooooooo much!!!!!! I work out a lot and didnt know what to do...
Thank you so much for fully explaining it

Question if you pre poo, if you co wash can it make your hair clean enough? Will it be better to shampoo after a pre poo?
Thanks for the video. It was very informative. Do you think co-washing is good for kids too? Want to make sure I'm treating my daughter's hair right and teaching her healthy habits. She's 6.
You can use an oil(Jojoba, olive oil, coconut oil, etc.) or a butter(Shea butter).
Okay so when you're rocking curly style's everyday & your using products like sheabutter pudding clustered stuff that builds up! Do co wash everyday??
Awesome advice! Thanks for sharing! You are very pretty!
Michelle, I can see the moisturizing factor to Co-Washing your hair. However, how does one receive the cleansing factor using the Co-Washing method? Are there ingredients in most conditioners that would ensure cleansing takes place?
You can use a deep conditioner but you don't have too. I would do a cowash and deep conditioning treatment on different days.
If you swim in chlorine, I would advise you to actually wash your hair with shampoo because chlorine can be damaging to your hair and you want to get all traces of it out. Just make sure you are moisturizing and deep conditioning if you plan to do alot of shampoo washes.

Not putting heat on your hair using blow dryer or curling irons. Braiding or putting it in a ponytail. Less heat the better.
I just started co washing my hair today and it smells amazing , not only that but my hair feels really soft ^_^
OMG! Thank you i used to leave my hair that way it was itchy and gross i wash so scared i would wash my hair so much. I'm so glad i found this :)
Hi thanks for sharing. But I'm wondering will the conditioner actually oil your scalp? Is it better better to wash your scalp only with water and your hair away from your hair with conditioner?
Thank you before this video I didn't know how to co-wash my hair now I know because of this video.

Thanks for helping me to understand co waahing!!!!
Just stopping by to tell you your beautiful love, good informative video too!
YES! cowashing after a workout is great!! Thank you for watching :)
You're welcome! A hair journey will take some work but it is all worth it! :)
Hi Michelle, I bought the pantene pro v co wash and clarifying shampoo

Hi. I just want to know if you ever use shampoo to cleanse your hair and if so how often?
How often do you shampoo?
Why wouldn't you want to wash the relaxed part? I would suggest taking the weave off and wash your hair and then put it back. You want to keep your whole scalp as clean as possible.
Some people aren't aware that everyone doesn't know all the "hair terms" and what they mean. Lol glad I could help...
So you shampoo your hair maybe about once a week, just co- wash as often as you want?
This video was sooooo helpful, thank you so much!
yes use a shampoo, but not as often. Maybe co wash every week and shampoo and condition every other week. Use a clarifying shampoo that doesn't have chemicals like sulfates. If you really have a lot of product buildup like gels and sprays then I would shampoo with a clarifying shampoo more often honestly
It has to be a wash out conditioner...leave ins are meant to leave in your hair :)
So are you to wet your hair before applying the conditioner or it doesn't matter?
I didn't know how to co-wash or what a co-wash was before this vid and I just realized that I co-washed before and I never even knew it😂😂
Thank you so much for this video! It is truly appreciated!
