2018 Audi RS7 Modified, 10,000 Miles and 6 Months of Ownership. Issues Already! Is It Worth It?

- After 6 months of ownership and 10,000 miles. I am still loving every day of owning this beast! Who knew Audi made such reliable and fast sports cars? (Besides the R8) The fact its eating oil does have me slightly concerned. What do you think is it normal?

Absolutely love my 14 model I just got about a month ago
Mine is suzuka gray
I have a stage 3 2017 S6 (same motor). The oil consumption between changes is normal. DO NOT follow Audi's oil change interval as Ant Jr mentioned. I would change at 5k miles and use a full synthetic. There are theories on the forums that the long oil change interval contributed to turbo failure in earlier cars caused by clogged oil screens. Long OCIs are intended to make the maintenance costs look lower but sacrifice longevity.
I went to formula one and they said they put special audi oil from Germany and I can drive for 10k miles but since I run my cars hard they said 8k. You think that's ok?
@@LextasyNation i would do 5k change intervals. Look up the oil screen issues. These turbos are oil cooled, so oil consuption is common. I do 5k miles changes on my 16' S6 w/APR stage 2 tune. Same oil change interval with my wifes 3.0t Q7. Liqid moly or Motul only in my vehicles
@@bjwilkins5357 this is correct, I believe in it 100% drive hard check your oil, 5k service . It’s part of the cost of running these cars , you need to look up MTM usa for a TCM tune . The fact that the trans is not tune shocks me , I’ve been watching your videos and your issues are bc the trans thinks you have stock power numbers . MTM tcu tune is about $700 also check boosted euro for the tune . pennzoil or liquid Molly would be my only choice in oil for it .
Some good news for you, Audi provides four year or 50,000 mile coverage for the entire vehicle. This is a bumper-to-bumper policy that covers everything for defects and faulty workmanship.
No way? That’s a very strong warranty then. Most brands don’t go that far out
Dude, best thing to do if you haven’t already, is get the turbo oil screen/strainer removed. If that clogs up it’ll kill your turbos quickly as they’ll be starved of crucial oil. There is a revised version from Audi, but it’s best to just remove it.
I agree! what sucks is I might as well upgrade turbos if I'm already tearing the engine bay apart.
@@LextasyNation 100%, if your already there, upgrade the turbos and remove the oil screen completely, otherwise you will risk blowing turbos. bad move on Audi with the design of that part. the first job i will be doing on mine when i pick it up.
Certain performance cars/ engines you just got to keep a eye on the oil more frequently. Especially when they are tuned and modified, so its normal to see that. Its not bad if you adding oil every 6k, ive seen and dealt with worse. But i would recommend changing that oil sooner or right at 6k since im sure your producing alot more heat and its hot down there. I change mines regardless every 3k miles no matter what.
3k? What oil are you using?
@@LextasyNation i use mobil 0-20 synthetic. I have different modified cars from you, but I switched to a heavier weight but still same results. Its just the heat from the turbos and of course getting on it here and there i dont trust the 10k change or even a 5k change. I change it 3 to 4k, so i have a peace of mind and fresh oil on a consistent basis. Just got to keep a eye on your oil especially when modified
My volvo s60 uses about half a quart every couple months. It's a volvo thing that they use it. Idk where it goes cuz no leaking at all or buring throigh exhaust. I change my oil every 5k with royal purple. I'm supposed to change change every 7k. I'm about to buy a 15 rs7. So I'm hoping it makes it 60k and minor repairs like yours.
Normal to add oil between changes keep a quart in trunk
Nice video really selling me on buying a rs7
I miss it!
Man chill you sold it?
The dragon!!!is that the one in Tennessee?
Yes sir!
@@LextasyNation i love the car and BTW I love in Knoxville, great video
Can i ask? What kidna wheels IS that?
I think its normal - Depends on the car as far oil consumption - in my 2003 911 turbo i had to add half a bottle every 1k :) turbo cars - my m4 which is twinturbo not eating anything. I dont think i would worry about if it gets worse...maybe? - Love the RS7 man! the prices are dipping slowly, who knows maybe I'll get one :) need 4 door. wifey bought Sq5 and she loves it. - interior on Audi's are top notch! everything looks good and it's stiff!
Bro if you get an RS7 we will definitely meet up for a cruise! I'm not use to cars eating oil and I had a GT350 which was the king of that issue lol
@@LextasyNation like I said. Turbo cars love oil.
I have the same problem.
Can i ask what brand wheels those are ? & what size are they ?
ADV1 21" WHEELS 3 PIECE FORGED WHEELS
@@LextasyNation thanks brother im going to purchase the s7 next spring and place rs7 grille + rear diffuser on it and wanted to find some rims and yours looks so perfect the size, lowering and flushed
I had two Audi a6’s it’s a normal thing all Audi’s drink oil like gas if you have any other questions let me know I look up Audi’s a lot
That’s crazy! I’m thinking of buying the Audi A7 maybe in a year. How much is a normal oil change?
@@keyballa 60$ dollars and good choice good luck
@@keyballa i have a 2016 a7 oil change where i lives 165 from the dealership
@@jahmalbranch9755 thanks but I learned oil changes will always be more expensive at the dealership. I prefer going to my own personal mechanic that can change luxury car oil changes. They usually charge less
@@keyballa u can do that it will be cheaper just make sure they r doing it right my really don't burn oil let's i run it hard
Castrol is not a good oil. Buy Motul 300v will lower your oil temps.
I’ll do that next time
I have an RS3 and use LiquiMoly products.
@Lextasy
Have you heard of DynoSpectrum DS1? I use this for my 2016 S7 and it is an absolute monster in terms of tuning.

I feel bad for they guy who buys these cars used and doesn't know about the maintenance and the cost for brakes etc. Just bc you buy the car in good condition your always taking on others abuse which can be catastrophic and astronomical 😂😂😂😂
Thats me! lol. Cant wait to get a lambo and see the bill for clutch replacement lol
Audi's are crap when it comes to getting repairs . As for aesthetics and performance that's how they bait you once they got you it's a money pit . I had a 2003 audi a6 and they wanted 1100 just to replace the ballast
2003 A6 vs a modern 2018 is a huge difference.
I know Im kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Justin Royce I would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Justin Royce try Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
What happened to the car????

@@LextasyNation what happened? Was it unreliable after mods? I want to make mine exactly like yours
@@LextasyNation why?
