If RC cape means ending the account, I vote you just ignore it. This is easily my favorite OSRS series and I'm always excited for them. I like what someone else suggested, skip 99 rc until you hit GOTR or have a reasonable method of doing it

@@baldrian22 Unless you get extremely unlucky and just roll chunk after chunk right up there, it's not nearly as dangerous because of how far away it is. Varrock chunk is so dangerous because of how close it is to the start, making it far more likely to end up there so early that it ruins the account before it really gets going. But you're right. Eventually, the corp chunk will be hell. Or if he's lucky, it won't be too bad as he will have lots of unlocks beforehand. We don't know.
Its your account and I fully respect your dedication to the rules you set in the beginning. But a lot us have been following your progress for the past 2 years, we are on this journey too! I presume you already realise this of course. If you want to end the account if you hit 99 rc, that’s up to you. But every single one of your viewers would prefer an exception and I think that should count for something! This is the best series on youtube just because of the insanity. We can still see you do other crazy shit until rc is plausible :)
Seems pretty straight forward to me that Runecrafting is intended to be locked behind Rune Mysteries, even though it isn't. So 99 Runecrafting should require that quest to be a thing first.
100% this, I love the series and would hate to see it be cut short due to a 1/20 something chance. I respect you sticking to the rules, but it would be totally cool to make an exception here.
Now that you have a good source of seeds, the tree chunk seems a lot easier. You can get 600-700 farming xp every 70 minutes from potato cacti. Which is more than checking an oak tree 481.3 and faster (vs 160 minutes). You also have the cadava berry spawns to insure regular cactus doesn't die and can spend snape grass on potato cacti. You will get plenty of snape grass seeds so when you get an allotment patch you can get the snape grass back.
I think I speak for everyone when I say don’t end the series because of an impossible chunk… we can collectively think of a solution that will be true to the series without being an ending.
Honestly I would just say even though you technically can get it. I'd still lock hit behind completion of Rune mysteries. Even though the quest competition does speed it up that much. It will be a bit more bearable. Only have to worry about getting Talismans for quick levels.
I think we should all get together and petition gagex for another source of essence if that happens that he can access. With our collective aura we can make it happen.
Also I forgot, but, in order to get Rune Mysteries unlocked. He'll also need to get 99 Farming sense the Draynor tile is needed to get to Wizard's Tower. The perfect set up would to be getting tile 2 then the tile next to it to get a generic farming patch. Not sure if the Farming cape guy can access Tile 2.

If he can somehow get to Wizards Tower before he gets to Varrock he will be fine. The issue is he has to go through the farming chunk for that, but now that chunk isn't as bad as it was.
It definitely is less painful the more you unlock, but there are random requirements sprinkled in with egregious amounts of time required to do them because of all the stupid 99 skillcapes. I think once he gets past 99 rc, and maybe 99 farming with the draynor skill cape, everything else will slowly become a lot easier to unlock.
@Pokefreak911 He is almost guaranteed to hit the Draynor village chunk before getting to wizards' tower, and that one contains 99 farming, which is just about as much of a run killer as 99 rc
If you roll into Varrock proper, I suspect a lot of your viewers will be asking the OSRS team to make completing Rune Mysteries a requirement to get the Runecrafting cape.

I'm with everybody else on the exception for 99 rcing. You've put in so much time and effort doing these RIDICULOUS grinds. You've gone above and beyond to stay true to this challenge. If you need to skip 1 chunk until you get a better training method I wouldn't be upset one bit. However it is your account and if you want to end it to stay true to the account, i'd be sad, but i'd understand.
In my opinion farming is such a time gated skill that I don’t think it should be considered an option to train maybe until u get an allotment patch like the one south of Falador. But you can do your thing King!
Not gonna happen, that quest requires the abyss miniquest and you have to tele to the essence mine from like 3 different locations. Unless he unlocks a path all the way to ardougne, zammy mage in wildy and wizards tower before the 99 rc chunk, hes screwed lol. The best he can hope for is unlocking wizard tower and the wildy mage, then hit the 99 rc chunk. Then he'll be able to do rune mysteries for essence mining and rc in the abyss, but even that is like 7 or 8 specific tiles before he hits the 99 rc tile.

The chances so far that he has never rolled that 1 specific chunk are almost exactly - 7.168177514% I reskimmed through the entire series to make sure I got every chunk roll and it took me like 25 minutes to do that and keep calculating the ongoing chance. Let the man be free, if he didn't want the series to come to an abrupt end early on, he would have set a rule protecting him from RC cape, or frankly, magic tree chunk too before getting other chunks that would make them bearable.

Totally agree. the telekinetic room is slow but really not an issue for me. Its fairly chill. Bone room is unpleasant but fairly fast. Alchmey room is.... good experience, but *awful* to actually do. Worst room by far.
I think a lot of the ideas people put are good. My suggestion would be to take the amount of exp to the 99 cape and divide it by an amount the community votes on (say 15 25 50 75) or something and require that amount of exp to be obtained per chuck until you reach a viable training method and then get the 99 at that time. Just an idea!
I think a fair punishment / workaround for the RC cape would be forcing 99 rc at GOTR as well as completing the log. Would still be an insane grind, and make up for bending the account rules

He would do lava runes and get materials from puro puro. It took him 190k implings to reach 76 which is just about 10% of the xp needed for 99, so he would need 1.7 million implings more for 99. In his videos he caught about 10 implings per minute so maybe 4-500 per hour including banking. At that speed it would take around 4000 hours to complete. If he played 10 hours a day that would be 400 days or a bit over a year
I'm curious, might have missed the "rule" : When rolling for a chunk, shouldn't you include your unlocked teleport options as rolls? Since you can get there and might open up horrible chunks like castle wars or fun/usefull chunks like LMS?

You need to be recording into a file while streaming to get good quality. Both UA-cam and Twitch use a lot of compression to reduce bitrate (and consequently load on their servers), and it won't save the vod at a higher quality either. There's a reason why gaming youtubers have beefy pc-s, often way higher specced than what the games they play require.
I did this grind recently on my UIM, but I found the golem one to be the worst/most boring. The others weren't too bad at all. Funny to see you prefer the golem minigame.

Why do people say this? Is this some long running meme? Infinity looks absolutely awful, it's like the devs trolled the players by making magic gear with a really obnoxious grind, and then intentionally made it look like baby vomit after eating a bunch of crayons.
from my experience alch room and enchantment room were the best because those are the only rooms that you can make faster by simply being better, hated telekinetic because of the wait time after each tele grab
99 rc with the method at his disposal takes unfathomably long, around 4000 hours. Xp requirements increase exponentially, 76 requires 1.3 million xp while 99 requires 13 million
2000 hours with a mithril battle axe for 99 defense, but 4 hours of mage training arena is the limit. Sounds about right.

Why do people say this? Is this some long running meme? Infinity looks absolutely awful, it's like the devs trolled the players by making magic gear with a really obnoxious grind, and then intentionally made it look like baby vomit after eating a bunch of crayons.

I just green logged MTA 2 weeks ago, and 100% agree, the alchemist room was BY FAR the worst.

hate to say in hindsight low alchemy gives same amount of gp from alchemy room and has faster animation so can alch more items an hour

from my experience alch room and enchantment room were the best because those are the only rooms that you can make faster by simply being better, hated telekinetic because of the wait time after each tele grab

Can someone explain why the rc cape is a account ending chunk? He seemingly got 76 rc without much of a problem.
It took months to get the essence for 76 and he's only a tenth of the way to 99.
99 rc with the method at his disposal takes unfathomably long, around 4000 hours. Xp requirements increase exponentially, 76 requires 1.3 million xp while 99 requires 13 million

A bit late but you can get around 12k enchantment points per hour by dropping the orbs as you enchant a block
