I've always loved the space battle from Rogue One. I really liked how they were able to emulate the feel of the OT while still being modern. I know there wasn't much dog fighting per say, but I still loved what they showed
Somehow I think the formation flying of the 6 TIE fighters during the Battle of Yavin is the best shot of TIE fighters in the entire franchise, maybe I just love the strength and discipline from formation movement.
Episode 6 as they come into range is pretty good too. Right as the battle starts
I like that for the new starter boxes they finally realised that it actually makes sense giving the people 4 dice of each.
I love the chase between Obi-Wan and Jango through the asteroid field. The visuals and sound design are so good. The silence before the seismic charge, mmmm yes.
Best sound effect in Star Wars, for me. :)
Love how passionate and just how much Crabbok about the Star Wars universe and especially the games like this. One of the iconic scenes I remember from growing up was the attack on the first Death Star with Vader swooping in and seeing his Star Fighter compared to the standard Tie Fighters
The Jango/Obi-Wan dogfight is a classic. The first time we got to see/hear the seismic charged too
A golden classic scene. Immediately became a fan of the Slave 1 after that back in 2002. Circa 21 years ago wow, I'm old 😂
My favourite dogfight comes from the Star Wars Squadrons trailer, the Interceptor left behind dancing with and X-Wing.
Xwing is the first game to get me into tabletop miniatures gaming. Glad to see it's still getting support.
My favorite dogfight might be Jango v Obi-wan in Ep 2. Asteroid field flying, seismic charge, debris dump. Very cool.
I’ve been tempted to get into X-Wing. The new starter boxes make it really attractive for a beginning player.
Honestly the new fan made xwing videos are blowing me away.. there's one where the rebels are attacking coresant and they run into a huge imp fleet.. best 3d Xwing dog fighting I've ever watched!
My favorite dogfight? Battle of yavin (destruction of the first death star) was my first time seeing anything like that when I was like 6 years old... Close second would be during return of the Jedi.... Was the first time I saw so many ships on screen fighting ... Then seeing the A-wing smash into the star destroyer... Awesome! But Now being an adult just now getting into xwing with my family in 2023... we can have our own dog fights!
So happy to see the gunboats getting reprinted!
I think that the dogfight from Star Wars Rebels where they introduced the defender is a great dog fight
Thank you for the summary! My favorite dogfights are probably from X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, the video game. I've got amazing memories of that. Otherwise, the X-Wing (Book 1) simulator dogfights are pretty memorable for me.
I tend to imagine my ships ‘moving’ like a flight simulator 😂 call me crazy, loved old Xwing vs tie, training missions everything lmao 👍
I'm looking forward to seeing the other factions 'starter sets'
Best dogfight has to be in Rouge One (Scariff surface) where The X-Wing became completly otmathed by specialised imperial fighters!
I like the idea for generics if you do a campaign and you start with these weaker ships and then gain vet status as you go. I can't wait to see what else comes out.
Great idea to do campaign battles. If your generic survives, they gain a veteran status, then survive a third battle they gain "renown" and a named pilot/ace. Would be a good way to change game dynamic by encouraging survival.
Idk if it's a dog fight per-se but watching the hammerhead corvette push the star destroyer into the shield over Scariff was really cool. Showing the rebels unconventional tactics really supports them as a guerrilla army.
one issue with splitting a double pack is that there'll almost 100% only be one of each unique pilot / upgrade.
Either way, I'm hopeful for a scum starter pack that re-releases the Khiraxzh and Starviper, though most likely we'd just get more Scyks, z95's and yet another release of the y-wing..
Thanks for the update information. I've always thought about jumping into X-Wing, but never have; maybe in the near future.
I have to say my favorite engagement was the Batlle over Endor with all the smaller ships weaving in and out of the larger ships
I always liked Luthien's fight in Andor. Maybe not a full dogfight but that was fun!
Glad to hear X-Wing is still doing well.
😅 can’t tell if sarcasm…
Thanks for the update!
We never got epic on the table that much over the years. But those games were ways the most memorable! So many ships, such a different play style.
Since all of my favorite dogfighting scenes have already been mentioned, I'll give a shoutout to the show Resistance. It was cool to see a show specifically about pilots, especially because it fleshed out the idea of having aces in the First Order and gave Poe some more screen time.
A new hope ... good to reply it ... looking forward to the new squadrons
Super pumped to hear about some new stuff for X-wing! My son and I just started getting into the game over Christmas break.
A dog fight that stands out to me actually comes from the 2003 Genndy Clone Wars series-Anakin Skywalker vs. Asajj Ventress was EPIC.
Think my favourite dog fight is the Battle of Yavin. First time Id ever seen a Sci-fi dogflight like it
I’m new to xwing and I really enjoy your videos!! Lots of information and tips and tricks. Thank you
I miss X-Wing 2.0 dogfights with no scenarios things :(
Thank you for being my go to for xwing news man
I miss using the Huge ships. I hope they release the new rules and point values soon...
But I also love the standardized loadout cards.
Would be great to see the Alphas coming back, and a return of the YT-2400, still need a Lambda Class shuttle re-release. I enjoyed both the scenario packs so far and got a non-playing X-Wing person to play the game as a result. Good to see some life out of AMG
My favorite dogfight in Star Wars would have to go to the battle of scarif, on the surface of the world and outside the shield gate, some of the best X-wing vs TIE action happens there!
My new favorite dog fight comes from yesterdays Mando episode with the N1 vs the pirates along with help from the gauntlet fighter, love seeing the gauntlet fighter in combat.
I think the new hope dogfight left the most impressive impact. It was new and exciting.
While it does suck not having new models coming out, I am excited to have these reprints as well as the store champ kits. Cant wait to add these to my collection.
I love the falcon vs tie battle in ESB!
Excited for more X-Wing. Great video.
Cool giveaway! Funny story about an X-wing game I recently played with my roommate. He was playing the Republic with Anakin and Ahsoka in delta aethersprites and a couple of clones in V-19s. I was flying Scum and Villainy with four Z-95s, a Starviper and a Kihraxz fighter. My Z-95s all has deadman’s switch. My roommate had gotten all my ships down to one point each. My Zs were flying in formation (in hindsight, that was a dumb move on my part with them all having Deadman’s Switch), Anakin shot one of the Zs and it exploded causing damage to the rest of the squad as well as the Starviper. One shot took out five ships in a fireworks type explosion. We both had a good laugh over that. 😆
My favorite dog fight was the trench run from the original star wars.
Wasn’t expecting so much for X-wing, this is awesome!
My favorite Star Wars ship is the TIE Royal Guard Interceptor. I flew one in Star Wars Galaxies until that game went offline. I've had lots of fun over the years playing the X-Wing Alliance upgrade with a modded TIE RGI for skirmishes. Almost every toy or model of the RGI ever produced is wrong, because it's supposed to have winglets on each wing. It's a shame they've never produced one for the Hasbro Star Wars action figure lines. Anyway, that's my ship of choice in X-Wing Miniatures.
These new updates look very interesting. Honslestly, to this day the best dogfight/spaceflight is the battle of the second Deathstar. To this day, I get excited to see the dogfighting in those scenes.
lets go. let me get that shatter point.
get it
I love all the space battles who can't beat a good star fight
Hope the reprints sell well enough for AMG to feel it’s worth while to release the rest of the 1.0 ships.
How do you guys store the bigger load out cards? I m having trouble finding proper cardsheets. Love this video by the way. ❤
Still hoping for a din djarin n1 pilot card
Favorite dog fight is for sure the rebel attack run on eadu in rogue one
Thanks for the giveaway! The best space battle has to be RotJ Battle over Endor. The effects they were able to achieve back then were incredible and it was so easy to follow the action. Also, I really hope they announce Mando's N1 starfighter for scum and villainy faction.
with the force... grow-goo pilot :)
Any new stuff is great and these kits are a good idea for new players, but my concern for long-time players, who have all the ships, is will we be able to purchase card sets of all the 'standard load outs' which seem to have unique abilities, different form normal upgrades? Don't want buy ships I already have.
Used to be a game about good dog fights too.. but AMG has really been fucking that up since 2.5.
I respectfully disagree on that. 1.0 dissolved into meta combos with no emphasis on flying. 2.5 is really emphasizing flying with more positioning bonuses and triggers as well as making the board relevant with objectives. This all fees more like a dog fight and less like a combo exploit. For me at least. Hope you find something you like in there, happy gaming
Then I have a legitimate question about the 20pt, 2.5 system. WHY change card text and totally neuter generics when with 2.5 and range 0 changes…why not -1 to attack and -1 to defense for those Rng 0 ships? WHY did AMG ban cards and change Txt’s?
Go ahead and tell me again how AMG ‘fixed’ a tournament game but narrowed the playing field for different variations of the game. Go ahead I’ll wait unless your too busy chasing your candy, whether new plastic or new cardboard me thinks ‘most’ people never had a clue and now never will. Enjoy your candy and your neutered 21 speed which only goes 3 speeds now 😂 had enough of the ‘tournament chase’ mindset, NOT why I bought into this game AT ALL! Peace.
(BTW, -1 to attack and -1 to defense at range 0 works fine, no txt changes needed and no need to ban a thing…it’s THEIR obfuscated view, not ours)
Adepticon had so much juicy goodness in the reveals dept from AMG, my wallet is sad but my nerdy heart is joyous, lol.
I want TIE Phantoms to make a come back!
Dog fights? Any of the death star battles.
As someone new to the game I’m a bit confused with these new expansions. Is it worth holding off on buying the game/ships now and waiting until May when they release the starter packs?
That is how I have always approached the game as a massive dog fight. I am still purchasing but I have only played a couple of times sense the introduction of 2.5.
I run an escalation league for new players to get into the game. I run the first 2 events with no unique pilots at all.
1 2 ships max 10 pts 0 unique pilots 50 min
2 3 ships max 12 pts 0 unique pilots 50 min
3 4 ships max 14 pts 1 unique pilot 60 min
4 5 ships max 16 pts 2 unique pilots 60 min
5 6 ships max 18 pts 3 unique pilots 70 min
6 8 ships max 20 pts no limit 120 min
This setup gives them an opportunity to learn the basics first before having a fully loaded out list with a bunch of different abilities to keep track of.
My fav memory of a dogfight is in episode 6 where a tie fighter runs into a mon cal cruiser.
The game has significantly changed since 2nd edition came out, and I'm struggling to see how new players using the standard load outs are going to get the same experience as a veteran who has all the upgrade cards and can mix and match. When it comes to tournament play it's moving more and more to a 2 tier game. Do AMG have a vision for the game and just don't want to upset people?
Personally I'm really about those classic dogfights like Yavin and Endor, but I do also love the Concord Dawn fighters.
Just got into xwing with my friends, I think the best dog fight is when the rebels attack lothal.
Very happy to see some updates for X-Wing, I like to collect as well as play so I'm looking forward to lots of the new products. I know they're recent but the couple of dog fights on The Mandalorian this season have been exceptional (no spoilers, I promise!), but I also hold the Battle of Endor in high regard just for the action, variety of ships and tension in the moments of that battle
Best dogfight was Vader v Phoenix Squad in the Rebels season 2 premier.
I'm new to x-wing, Rogue Squad is my favorite movie.
My favorite dog fight was the dog fights in Rogue One but now Mandalorian has come out and changed the game. I won't say to much for spoiler reasons but Mandalorian is so good and so dynamic especially in season 3
Too bad AMG didn’t realize that separatists and Scum factions practically rely(designed?) on generics. Not anymore since generic loadout points got neutered for the new tournament chase…good job omitting the points used for Epic.
Peace & good luck
I am looking forward to those tie bombers. I joined x-wing about a year ago and missed out on the 1.0 stuff. Would be nice for the Empire to get a new huge ship or a reprint of that Raider.
Poe and his fly by on Takodanna was amazing.
I like the faction starters. Thinking of picking up both and the 2.0 conversion packs.
I am a B-Wing fan but I would like to see a dogfight with an E-Wing and a TIE Defender!
Since the Ashoka trailer reveals the E-Wing in live action, we might see an E-Wing expansion pack in 2025 or 2026.
Finally some new plastic
So excited for tie bombers to make their return!
I think episode 3 of the Mandalorian is my favorite dog fight scene in SW.
Is there a release for these starter packs
I have seen preorders are available on some online hobby shops... Sorry, Can't remember which.
Gunboats!! Yes please
I guess my favourite dog fight is death star 2 Return of the Jedi.
I do also think that some of the Mandalorian recent dog fights have been superb.
Love yours videos. Unfortunately I have little time to watch long ones. Do you think about shorter format?
they need a pilot pack that cross faction more ships. like the lambda could be flown by several factions.
Will shoot this video to a friend playing xwing
I just hope they make a card pack of just the standard loadouts. I don’t need more ships.
Do they plan on selling the standard loadout cards other than the scenario packs?
I think it is smart that they are focusing on the new player right now. In the coming years I think we will start to see more new ships, just not as much right now
Nice cover 07
i wonder if the rest is coming soon and it would be very bad to have somethign similar to the rebels as resistance.
Yes! Only run generics! Now you are speaking my language :)
I'm thinking of returning to the game after giving it up a few years back. I'm willing to buy new box sets how do i get into 2.5? It seems like you buy sets and print out the rules and updated points from the AMG site? Seems pretty hardcore to have new players buy a core set and immediately tell them that the box is out of date.
I like the direction they are going with X-wing, I will have to look into scum in the new edition
Whats the best way to make sure all my cards are converted to 2.0?
Also, favorite dogfight is the 2003 clone wars series when anakin is chasing ventress!
I'm still hoping for a Republic starter squadron
I really want to get into X Wing. It sounds so much fun but sometimes seemed kind of intimidating.
Hi, I'm new to x wing. Was wondering if the 2nd edition starter can still be used with the new starter sets?
6:30 This isnt 2 point Oh. AMG Killed 2 point Oh. We keep it alive as Legacy now. Two point five (2.5) is NOT the same game it was before the pandemic.. or the game bought into orginally. I get it you need to keep up with whatever the current format is and all, but know that AMG severally split the community with the rule change and from what ive seen, has killed off alot of local play because of it (including at my local store).
Tournament chase isn’t Epic. I’d like to ‘Molotov’ my trident class right at Will and that blue(red, green, orange!?!?) haired chick goofy talking bout huge ships…grrrrrr
Wow... That sucks; my family and I just got into xwing... Guess will be playing 2.0 with all the ships I have bought from remaining stock locally ... Didn't know 2.5 was a thing ....
As someone who doesn't collect Rebels, love having the YT-2400 available to Scum, plus another droid pilot to pretend I'm flying Seppies.
Any word on if we'll get the 2nd edition Imperial Raider?
Great video
Is love to buy my friends some x wing ships if I win. That way they will be into the hobby with me 😂
Tomax Bren? Where's Xamot? If you blow one of them up, would the other blow up as well?
