As a truck driver and seeing the lights while i drove was absolutely amazing
That’s so cool! I missed it! But wow the photos online are amazing!
I believe they’re made by solar flares
Lucky dog. I didn't see squat! I run a hopper in Missouri and Arkansas mostly. Was in Buffalo MO with a normal sky.
I saw them, trucking in Limon co
Is that three times this yr?
I paused the video so that you can take a breathe brother 🙌🏼

Half way through the video I totally understood this comment!! Lol
You put mainstream media weather to shame--so glad that I found your channel.
I shared it with friends and family too!🖤
These types of comments are implicitly saying that "mainstream/legacy" media should have the best coverage. Can't we just have legacy/mainstream for general audiences and specialized youtube channels for more detailed and advanced coverage? A lot of the topics discussed in this video are way over most people's heads. Like do you know what an ensemble member is? I don't.
Well yeah.. mainstream weather report, 20-40 seconds. This guy 20 times longer.. obviously this is more in depth.
Max velocity is better than any news station
I agree, he doesn't sensationalize the weather like a lot of other reporters, and he sticks to the facts.
We Are The News Now!!
don't gotta sit through a shit ton of political trash and targeted ads.

@@mjkelly93 Max has a god sense of humor too.
How many meteorologists raise money for effected people of bad weather ?.
Hands down one of the best youtube meteorologist of our time❤ Accurate • honest • reliable. I'd rather watch this rather than main stream news
Mainstream news weather is doo doo 💩 in comparison!
This is a better explanation than any meteorologist on network TV
Max is informing us, the mainstream media is trying to scare us. That's the difference.
💯💯💯
people like this is the way to go from now on. dont bother with anyone the bs on tv ❤❤
@@richardpowell4281 Brian Norcross on Fox Weather is also amazing. I don’t dislike Max but I prefer Brian’s calm demeanor and his decades of studying and reporting on hurricanes, including Hurricane Andrew. Max was a bit much on his Wednesday live at times… commenting over and over about how a bench was covered by water or a wooden post in the surf was tall and covered by water, which both of those were untrue. He has a bit of sensationalism for sure.
Agree. ❤ very helpful. Love this channel.
64 degrees in central Florida right now. Chilly for us. Makes not having power/electricity not so bad.
@nicolehall2177 same here in south louisiana
😂 it felt amazing
I live in St. Louis. I moved to Jacksonville Beach years ago. It actually snowed my first winter there! Not much, but enuf for the kids to build 5-inch snowmen!
I was lucky and didn't lose power but still don't have home Internet. During Hurricane Ian, I lost power for a day and than Internet for 10 days.
We lost power with Helene for 5 days and it was 90 in the shade. 😢 So glad you have nice weather!
You probably saved lives during Milton; you are a bona fide hero. Hands down!!
Oh my word, so now the huge amount of people in Western NC affected by Helene and living in tents might freeze to death??? I'm praying that doesn't happen but I am very very concerned.
This is heartbreaking!😢🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’m so nervous. I live in western NC but I didn’t get hit, I’m praying for the people who did.😢
I know there's been a lot of damage from Milton in places but from what I've seen over the last couple of weeks watching from here in New Zealand, it's the devastation caused by Helene across several Southern States that is going to require a massive ongoing effort and a lot of resources.
Sixteen dead from Milton. The article didn't discern hurricane specific vs tornados the storm brought. But I'm hoping they and the affected by Milton don't get lost in the horrible pain in NC. They all need our support right now.
Yes, Florida is used to hurricanes… but those other southern states can’t withstand weather weapons like Helene.
We evacuated from Daytona Beach to Savannah. Heading home this morning. Neighbor has been sending pics.
My street is a lake, and my house is surrounded by water, but he sent pics through one of the windows, and it looks like my sandbags held. Doesn't look like there's any water in the house.
Hi Droogie. Good luck to you. Thank-you fr following the rules. U were smart.hope the best fr u👋👍💙🩵

No worries FEMA will take care of everything. 🤭
Good luck. Keep us updated
Ok and?
Thanks for the update and coverage during Helene and Milton. My sister and her family are safe in Clearwater FL.
Same I live in central FL (Davenport) thanks for him I told my mom there was another one coming and she didn’t believe me until it happen

@karencourt5684 Thank you for your service. I'm a Floridian as well. My area was hit horribly by Helene, DIXIE COUNTY.
Stay safe out there. All may be gone but never forgotten. Memories are forever.
Thank you for all you did during Hurricane Helene and Milton. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who we're affected by them.
Watched your replayed. Found your Channel during Milton. Excellent job. I live in Houston so will continue to watch. I already lost everything to a Tornado in 1987 living in the Texas Panhandle, Pampa Tx. I broke my back in 3 places. We were home when the tornado hit our mobile home. I have lived on Houston since 1991 so have seen several Hurricanes and storms here. Hope nothing developes next week in the Gulf. Will continue to watch.
ohio valley here, weve been in a severe drought since first week of july. you mentioned its gonna rain about 5:50 , but its not. theres something going on here stopping rain dead in its tracks. its so dry weve been leaving buckets of water for the deer, bear and other forest creatures. theres more fracking going on here than any other place in the country and i have to wonder if thats the cause. this is a anomoly that is being hidden from the public
Long story short, winter is coming.
But we have to make a big deal out of it
Thank goodness for the cooler weather with no power in FL. It feels amazing outside while cleaning up.
South Dakota here! They're halfway through harvest already so we should be ok if it frosts. The flooding we had in the spring took out 30%+ of the fields so it shouldn't take them long to finish.
Do you ever sleep Max?.😊
Watching you here in Australia. Really enjoying learning about weather and what effects it. Amazing coverage and explanation. Thankyou. Xx
Max Velocity, my sincere thanks for covering the path of Hurricane Milton and Helene. My family, who resides in Tampa, Fl., is safe!

Way better than mainstream weather reporting
as a canadian that lives in northern ontario, its clear skies and like 0 - -8c now
I’m looking at the weather for hurricane ravaged Asheville, NC and see daytime temps for the next 2 weeks, from 50-70’s, with only two nights (next week Wen & Thur) from 34-36F. I do not see any freezing temps for Asheville in the next two weeks. For those that don’t have permanent shelter from the cold, there are a number of shelter locations around Asheville to get warm….but having done a lot of camping with the family in the Fall, these temps are nothing that a nice camp fire can’t cure. Personally, I’d rather have COOLER temperatures, than HOTTER temperatures when my power goes out. I can always put on a coat, or cover myself with a blanket when it gets chilly. Nothing I can do when it’s 90F, and I have no AC.
I watched you hurricane Milton report the entire time you were narrating it.
Believe it or not, you saved lives and should be commended for your professionalism.
You are an outstanding meteorologist, natural expert and well spoken.

Hi all. I'm a rescue worker. And boy have we been busy. The weather is erratic. Fr sure. People were asked to evacuate certain areas. But some Ignored that stayed behind. And kept the workers busy. Which could have been helping with searching and diving. All I want is fr everyone to be safe and follow regulations..when they say 18ft .possible waves .that's what it means. This is not funny. Take care everyone
Thank you so much for helping with the rescues. You must feel so tired but gratified that you can actually do something! Blessings! 🙌

I took care of 2 seniors w Alzheimers over 10 years. I was wondering how you evacuate the incontinent and/ or sundowning? I've had nights at home where where I've changed and laundered sheets and clothing and gave showers 3x in one evening. When tornados rolled through our area this summer we both stayed on the main flow w our bedridden parent. Couldn't imagine for a second just leaving them alone while we went to the basement. One senior was sedated while hospitalized to reign in dementia created psychosis. How would that be handled in a shelter? They're screaming out and accusing people around them of imagined slights. How would a severely autistic child w sensitivities that could lead to meltdowns fare in these loud and busy shelters? How about people on oxygen or that use mechanized beds to get them up and down? Unfortunately the one size fits all of shelter environments don't work for so many. I imagine in FL with so many retired the numbers with such issues are magnified.
Living in Florida thank you for youtr donations

I have a thought for all the folks in North Carolina who will have to suffer through the first freeze while they have lost their home
😢
I remember taking my kids out for trick-or-treat on Halloween, and there was about 4 inches of snow here just 10 miles north of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.. that would’ve been in the early 1990s. I also remember waxing my new van wearing my swimsuit in 1978 on Thanksgiving day here… that same here I think it went down to 26° below zero Christmas Eve. My pipes in my house froze that night. I remember I went to get my shower to go to sleep, and the water wasn’t flowing. I caught it real quick so I didn’t have my pipes burst. I saw them out with a hairdryer.
Normally, it does not go below zero here in Pittsburgh During the winter, and it generally never goes above 95° either in the summer although I do remember two days it went over 100° back in 1988, which I think only happened three times in the past hundred years here in Pittsburgh
Good Morning Max

Freezing rain and ice is nothing to mess with. We've been in ice storms here in Ohio, like when it's 15 degrees out, ice on everything, and no power because ice took down the trees and power lines.

Cloud seeding.
You create artificial clouds with chemicals that sucks up moisture from areas where no moisture is thus creating anomalies in weather compesating by creating super cold or super hot temperatures in places where opposite should be happening or excessive rain dumps.
They are destroying areas with "cloud seeding"

After the amazing coverage you did on Milton, I'll listen to anything you have to say about weather
Extra tropical. Sounds like a Capri Sun flavor
.
Here are the key points related to the weather pattern:
1. **Jet Stream Shift**: The jet stream will take a big dip, allowing colder air from Canada to push southward into the U.S., creating a major weather pattern change. (01:22-01:48)
2. **Cold Air Influx**: As the trough builds over Canada, it will bring a significant cold air mass into the Ohio Valley, Northeast, and much of the East Coast by early next week. (02:12-02:39)
3. **Temperature Drop**: This cold blast will last for a few days, with temperatures expected to drop well below average across much of the Midwest, East Coast, and Southeast. (03:04-03:51)
4. **First Freeze of the Season**: The Midwest, including states like Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota, may experience their first freeze on Monday and Tuesday, impacting crops and vegetation. (04:15-04:40)
5. **Gradual Warm-up**: Following the cold snap, a ridge will rebuild, allowing warmer air to return to parts of the Great Plains and the East Coast by the end of the week. (03:51-04:15)
6. **Increased Weather Activity**: With the jet stream remaining meridional (more wavy), the U.S. may see more active weather, including potential severe storms, especially in the Great Plains, during the third and fourth weeks of October. (03:04-03:28)
7. **Precipitation Patterns**: Showers, thunderstorms, and potentially even snow flurries are expected in the Ohio Valley, Northeast, and upper Michigan Peninsula due to the intensified trough. (05:06-05:31)
8. **High-Pressure System**: High pressure will dominate the Southeast and Great Plains later in the week, bringing dry weather, with the chance of thunderstorms returning by the following weekend. (05:31-05:57)
Saw the northern lights last night in SoCal! Wasnt spectacular, but could see the green glow on the horizon with some red hues above it. The sky turned purple for a few min before it ended. Incredible to se it at all from this far south.
