I just got a night shift job and for some reason I have no appetite overnight and I'm just rolling with it. I bring a couple protein shakes or soup you can sip and I'm good. One of the few benefits of night shift
Having discipline as a nurse is really hard! After getting stressed out by these patients, the last thing I want is some chicken and vegetables for dinner. Working out after work is difficult also. I'm dog tired after work and just want to get in bed afterward. I definitely need to make some life changes though, because night shift has been hard on my body.
Chicken and vegetables isn't that healthy anyway. Eat a a steak and some berries and melon. Beef and beef fat is loaded with vitamins. No carb or low carb and high fat high protein is better. Carbs cause diabetes, high blood pressure, and fat on the body

Meal prep 💯 bro 🤜 join a 24 hr gym and get those workouts in when you can. I work 10p to 6am or 7pm to 7am. I usually eat my first meal around 4pm oat meal, greek yogurt, and berries two eggs two servings of egg whites and alot of veg and my lunch around 2am consists of a protein either red meat, chicken, or fish some sort of starch/carb ie. Rice or some veggies or both.
I am glad you are talking about being healthy. I have seen some obese Registered Nurses and they had the audacity to get on my about my blood pressure being high.
LOL!! I totally get where you’re coming from-it can feel a bit contradictory when healthcare professionals, who may not always follow the advice they give, hold us accountable for our health. But it’s actually part of their job to be honest about potential health risks, even if they’re facing similar challenges themselves. Nurses and other healthcare professionals have the knowledge and training to recognize serious health issues like high blood pressure, and it’s their duty to bring these things up for our benefit. Sometimes, even when they struggle with following their own advice, they’re still in a unique position to guide and support us toward better health.
I’m struggling coming up with a good eating schedule to lose weight. I am 3 months postpartum and I still have 20-25 lb I would like to lose. I work 4 weeks day shift, 4 weeks night shift alternating. I am just now getting into the routine for my day shift but Monday I start the night shift. My hours are from 7pm to 3:45 am. I intend to go to sleep as soon as possible after work so I will ideally exercise fasted after I wake up and care for my children. What time would be a good time to have my eating window? Last time I worked night shift I did not gain weight, but I did not lose any weight either. I was able to lose a few pounds working the day shift & want to continue losing weight…. I found myself to be much more hungry on the night shift as I would be hungry both during the day and night. I exclusively breastfeed so I just kept eating because I wanted to make sure my body could continue to produce milk for baby but I do not want to sabotage my weight loss efforts. Is fasting 12 hours enough for weight loss? I used to do 16/8 but I can’t think of a realistically good eating window for those hours working night shift. Your body needs protein within 1 hour of working out so that you can gain muscle, correct? You should also not eat 3-4 hours before going to bed to get adequate rest so what hours do you think would be good for me to eat???? Please help!
I’ve been a night nurse for about 6 years now and I’ve always struggled with the food schedule. So I understand how you fast/eat during shifts, however I would like to know how do you continue to fast in between work days/days off? What does that food schedule look like? Do you still fast from 11a-11p to maintain consistency or does it change on the days off?
Question but doesnt eating & going right to sleep lead to weight gain? Also how do u even sleep after working out ? I be wired lol endorphins just having a partyyyy

It’s only difficult if that’s the mindset you have. Put in the work you’ll make it keep it up
any update? currently going through this
