I've been learning guitar with you for 5 years now and the friends who follow my process are always amazed, coupled with a touch of disbelief (I think), that I've "only" learnt it all with an online teacher. For a long time they thought it was a "real" teacher-student relationship with 1 to 1 sessions, only that we meet online. They were all the more surprised that it was "only" asynchronous teaching, which of course requires a very good concept (which you have!) and of course a certain amount of self-discipline, which actually comes automatically if you have a lot of desire for the instrument. With your openly displayed enthusiasm, you are fuelling this motivation even more!
Listen to the solos and find your way. It doesn't have be a 100 % correct, but you'll get so much out of it if you struggle a bit yourself and discover the notes.
@@mike04574 I would say that it depends on your level. I'm intermediate, so I could figure out much of it myself, but I would end up playing it like myself, instead of note for note like John. I would definitely benefit from a tutorial, but you learn more as a guitarist when you try it yourself, you're developing your ear that way. A mixture of both trying yourself and watching the tutorial in small parts is a good compromise. Tutorial helps you see if you're on the right path and helps you go past the more challenging bits.
I play the solo part like this, i think it sounds much better than regular chords. :D Play B minor, A and G (4x) Bm -barre chord shape A - 577655 shape can be played with pointy finger barring both high e and b strings, or let the high e ring out. You can also try to muting the low E string with your thumb if you can reach it. Same goes with the G shape. G - 355433 shape
I couldn’t find you for a minute, when I was looking for this song.. Then…….. There you were… You are one of the greatest music teachers of all time!!!!! Thank you for sharing your gift….
Justin, you made me buy a guitar, love my guitar, made me learn all Red Hot Chili Peppers songs and finally loving it. Thank you for enriching my life!
Great song choice! I've always thought this was an underrated song from the BSSM album. That album is full of so many great songs though, I understand why it gets lost in the shuffle.
When I play the chorus I play the Em on the 7th fret and just extend the pinky to the 10th (5th string) to get to the G (C CAGED shape). And then the D and the C which are right there. To me, it is comfortable and my fingers are freer for fills.
Thanks for a great lesson, this will have to go into my Dreamers cartogory, I will work on it. Maybe I will suprise myself. John Frusciante was a genius at 20. 3 albums droped in Sept of 1991 that changed my life and this was on one of those. I wish Justin would do Power of Equality. That was probobly one of the top 5 opening songs for an album of 1990s
One more amazing song you cover Justin! Thank you so much!!! Your analysis is always clever and the way you explain always very simple and clear! What a beautiful song. By the way, your singing is killer too! Congats man! Cheers ;-)
Absolutely fantastic lesson! Very clear and easy to understand! You covered every bit man, thank you so much! Would love to see more Red Hot Chili Pepper lessons from you! John Frusciante is such an astonishing guitarist. Easily in my Top 5 guitarists ever.
I think I learned one of my very first songs watching your videos 10 years ago. Always found your videos easy to follow and very accurate to the original song.
I was looking for this song on this channel few months ago and I couldnt find any good lesson on this one... Finally you made it. Thumbs up for your work
Yeah I think I will vote for yes for you to do a solo lesson on this. I like your idea of learning it by ear but it couldn't hurt doing a tutorial on it. Thanks Justin You have helped me alot with previous videos 🤘
Wow I'm glad to find you again, sure has been a while! I came to your can't stop by rhcp lesson over 10 years ago and now I've returned to learn some more Frusciante. It's good to see you again man!
I know how to play the solo but I just want to see you Justin rippin through it! You really do put emotion when playing even in your lessons! Its cool to see that :)
A gap filled in my song knowledge! I probably may have heard it before, but now I'm learning to play it on the guitar, and what a beautiful sound it is. Thanks for the lesson Justin, and count me in on the solo lesson too!
Thanks Justin helping me finish this. I've been working this out for the last week. It's ironic my #1 maestro would deliver the goods at this point in time.
Justin thanks ever so much for uploading this one. Always been a fan of the RHCP and I absolutely love this song. You guitar lessons app has been extremely helpful. I decided to get back into guitar after not playing for many years. Thanks ever so much
Justin please do Someday by The Strokes or any Strokes song! Thanks for the lessons, been playing for 3 months and your lessons have been easy yet thorough especially for beginners ❤️
Very tasty Justin. Thanks alot! I love the sound of your singing voice in the intro. Would love to know how you equalized it / what effect did you have on there.
Great lesson, Justin! Loved it! The solo of this song is definitely one of my favorite solos of all time. It’s really hard to get the tone right though.
Hey Justin, great song and for the people who don't know was Anthony Kiedes singing to Sinead O'Connor when she didn't want him. I can't believe you said f...ed up now, lol. but those are the words. Ok let's get back to it.
My favorite John live tone years. strat, some cranked marshall, and maybe 4 pedals. I'd love to hear Justin do this with the strat and then hit the solos with the Boss DS-2 :)
Yeaaaaah ! One week since I've started practising this awesome tune. Huge fun, indeed - "plaisir", should I rather say... - with the first two sections, and even struggling with the Em G C D chords in the low frets, it sounds great with proper rythm ! So sweet harmonies :) Regarding the solo, this new step will have to wait until I have mastered the main part of the song... ;-) and I'll also have to let my left hand be resting for a while. Fantastic work, Justin ! Thank you... Cheers !
Hello Justin and thanks for all your work (i like specially all your work around Neil Young) . I follow you since a long time and with your help i try to learn more and more. Sorry for my bad english (i'am an old french). I am not sure (because i don't understand all) but if you propose to make a tuto for the solos of this song ...i say YES !!! Thank's for all Yannick

Great playing Justin. Having a hard time getting that G chord to ring out on the dusty end there. Any insight into your action on the low/high e at 12th fret on your acoustics?
How many awesome lessons have you been putting out lately? This is another killer song. Cheers Justin!
I'm glad you dig the lessons! :) Cheers! Enjoy your weekend.

I’ve learned all my Frusciante, John Mayer, and Neil young from you Justin! Thank you a lot, just added another to the books. You rock 🤘🤙
my god this intro is just heart-warming. not only is your singing on point but you're also nailing the vocals. all hail the frusciante! :D
