Thanks for showing this! I've been so curious since you first showed/explained it. I hope you get a chance to share what it looks like after it's been cleaned out!
That is SO interresting!!! I really hope to see it again after you have removed some of the mud! Thank you for sharing your farming activities. Your channel is my main source of zen ;-)
This is so exciting Martin! You have found the mother subterranean spring for your qanat?! Where is it located? Can you make a simple map showing the road to Portugal and the location of the shafts? Did you discover this chamber when you were digging with the Giraffe in preparation for your new canal? The last I knew, there was a cistern and 2 shafts. The tunnel uphill of the top (deepest) shaft was filled with rubble and not passable. I imagine you will have a nice increase in water flow when the fountain chamber is cleaned and the cistern chamber is repointed and sealed. Given that it is August, I suppose you can now conclude there is more than enough water in the qanat to supply all of your irrigation (and pond refilling 😉) needs! So exciting and SO many questions. I could not be happier for Suerte del Molino! ♥
@@stevejohnstonbaugh9171 Thank you for sharing joy Steve. This is just above the second shaft, before one gets to the rubble. I've been there before but never looked up. The discovery was made after I located the person who cleaned the qanat 10 years ago. Keep asking and keep walking Steve.
@@SuerteDelMolinoFarm My pleasure Martin! Thank you for including us. When you start cleaning, if you could please walk us from the vault to the rubble? I'm confused about how that connects to the vault. Congratulations 😊
🤩WOW...knowing that rainwater soaking into the ground is what feeds this qanat makes it more imperative to make as many swales & ponds on your land as possible.
