- 50th Anniversary Royal train to the NYMR and Pickering 12/06/23 with KING CHARLES III seen on the Esk Valley line and across the NYMR.
King Charles lll on his walk through the streets of Pickering meeting the crowds that line the streets.
It’s cool that he generally seems to like meeting people
fantastic stuff...Royal train, King Charles III AND Flying scotsman in Pickering......Haa.....
Very good that The King shakes hands with so many.
Congrats to NYMR as even though I'm in Australia, I've travelled on it (and other preserved ones in the UK.
Onya, mate!
Thanks, Robert, for those great images. Can you believe it's already been 50 years since the then Prince Charles was on the footplate at the NYMR!
I can’t believe I went two days before this I wanted to see Scotsman😭😭
just incredible video thank you I like our king and what he does. Long live our king
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Nice to see the white topped cab roof. A true railway enthusiast will know what that signifies!!!
i am an austrian train enthusiast so please explain
@@nokiadestroyer8085it signifies a royal train
@@puma2334 oh ok Thank you
Excellent video and the weather couldn't have been better.
Good video. Really like the high up shot at Newbridge
Thank you Iain. Bin a long edit. Bed now lols
Thank you !👍
Nice footage, thanks for sharing
Great video . I hope the royal train is fitted with retention toilets
very nice thankyou
The only steam loco that has been south of Grosmont in a month and it was flying scotsman and royal train how special!
Lovely!
Odd to see a DB logo on the diesel, and still carrying "Queen's Messenger" and the EiiR crest.
Why is it odd. He is a German :-D
@@melanierhianna Yup! I knew that, thought they might have wanted to keep it quiet. Still puzzled about the engine name and EiiR still being there. Maybe still mourning period? Last time I saw DB locomotives in person, they were steam!
Many years ago I found a genuine EiiR crest badge at an antique store, probably off a police helmet. (I'm in the US). Displayed proudly. I watched her coronation, and her lifelong devotion.
I should imagine it is a tribute to his much loved mother and the King will be the one who says when that comes off.
He is part German nothing to be ashamed of there.
Great vid work . I enjoyed great pleasure of seeing Scotsman in Portsmouth on sat (17th) and was truly a grand sight. Thanks for sharing you vid work
Excellent 👍
What a life !!!!!!!
Nice
Scottie looks great. Shame about the support coach though. Must be due for a re-paint soon. Thanks for the video.
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🛒 Royal Train
Hmmm, he'll be wanting the royal yacht Britania back again
That’s been decommissioned 🙄🙄🙄🙄 try a steam paddler
How does it fit? The Diesel-engine wears the DB - logo under the front windows. DB is "Deutsche Bahn" - working for the King? Modern times...😀
What’s with the white roof on Scotsman?
Cabs on steam engines are painted white to designate they are on 'Royal Duties'.
@@davidwatts1871 ah okay thank you 😁
Means it’s carrying a senior royal king or queen
what is nymr?
Hault by DB - german railway... haha
Типа "Детская железная дорога" только "Королевская железная дорога"😊
Great vid, thanks for sharing. One question and I may be wrong but should the Scotsman have 4 lamps? Do the 3 lamps mean something else?? Answers on a postcard please.
Hope Charlie enjoyed it. NYMR or harry. Which would bring a smile to your face?
Steam loco WAY BETTER amazing video
DB doesnt own the train by the way...
Did he really need the whole royal trainset?
Stop whinging
YES !!! Stop moaning
King Charles goes by train, Harry goes by private jet….
he is a steam buff
I doubt the royal train would be much good for transatlantic travel and, for internal UK journeys, a jet is probably a bit cheaper.
Anyone got the numbers of the rolling stock? Looks like Ol'Big Ears is still using his train and not his Mum & Dad's coaches!
ARE WE BEING CONNED ???
So King Charles III arrives hauled by a German State Railway (Deutsche Budesbahn DB owned) locomotive. And the profit made by DB for this journey goes back into the German Railway network, to offset the cost to the GERMAN taxpayer. Something is seriously wrong, with still allowing Foreign State Railway organisations to cream money from the profits they make out of Britain's rail system. Time they were thrown out in my opinion !!!!
It’s hard to believe any profit is being made here
OH GROW UP SERIOUSLY 😒 ITS A POXY TRAIN JESUS
So! Charles is on that train! And why may I ask is Flying Scotsman being dragged around like a dish rag at the back? Is 'his majesty' ashamed to have the world's favourite steam locomotive pull his train! Shame on him!!!!
you obviously do not understand how railways work!
One likes one’s train to be hauled by a diesel, with plenty of thrash, clag and tones.
Oh dear me!
I will try to explain for you. Flying Scotsman hauled the rain from York. At Battersby the line forms a Y One line comes from York and the other side of the Y goes to Whitby and the bottom of the Y is now the end of the line so from here Flying Scotsman came in towards the bottom of the Y and was then dragged out on the other line to wards Whitby. At Grosmont there is the same thing >- so Flying Scotsman came on the top line and then hauled the train onto the NYMR on the bottom line as far as Pickering. Out of the whole journey only a few miles were diesel hauled.
@@cedarcam I don't the railway has a turntable
People really baffle me at times. At about 6:27 - 6:40, the old lady playing with her phone when the King is stood in front of her.
She was trying to get the photo mode on.
@@richardhelliwell1210 Forget the photo. Curtsy and shake his hand. Then ask if a person close by got the photo or video.
