I have a good recommendation for you! A long while back you introduced us to Mindistry, and it’s changed a LOT since then. What you introduced isn’t even the main game now, it’s called the ‘classic’ versions I believe. It’s now on Steam and when 6.0 releases you should check it out again. It’s getting a large overhaul to several parts of the game. Mindustry is genuinely one of my favorite games and I’m so glad you showed it off!
This really needs at least a second episode. I felt this the last time you checked out this game - the beginning is pretty standard stuff, but the interlocking power system is what makes it stand out. Unfortunately you are just getting started with that, it would be great to see more.
The beaver that died was working out of range of the water. The other workers went to build the water supply so they drank. The dead beaver may have survived if he was commanded NOT to work. OR maybe you'd have to cancel ALL tree cutting so he'd wise up. Oh well.
Beaver: The Old World will burn in the fires of industry, the forests will fall. We will drive the machine of production with the axe and the carver and the Iron Fist of the Beaver
As someone who really enjoys Banished, although admittedly with mods to add more roads, buildings, ect for aesthetic purposes, I have to say that this game looks quite fun! Although, just like with Banished, I would really like to see more variations in structures. The thing that appeals to me about modded Banished is trying to balance actually taking care of my people's needs and trying to make something aesthetically pleasing to look at, over time. I feel like this is especially important for games of this niche that have no real enemies.
This is the same as any other city building game except with beavers. They're trying to appease the younger crowd. "Oh look, cute little beavers" "Can I buy this game Daddy?"
I find it strange how the devs decided to have so much land and so little water. Instead of buying area expansion, it would be a big project to dam rivers to cause large wetland/lake formation. You'd also be able to build different styled lodges instead of regular old land buildings.
Nice video as always, thank you. This game perfectly represents the state of the game industry right now: every genre has been beaten to death and now we're at the bottom of the barrel. They phoned this one in too: the roads, farms and buildings have very little to do with beavers thematically. You could replace the beavers with little people and it would be yet another remake of an insanely tired format. When I first saw it had beavers I thought "WOW, the damning up of rivers and flooding of thousands of acres could be a really fun game mechanic!". But nope. Nope. You don't get that. You get this regurgitated tripe instead. They do get one point for the shafts/mechanical power though.
You can't even make dams. Yet? But come on. What is the one thing beavers are known for? What is their one most important defining trait? Beavers eat wood, don't they? Of course apes eat leaves and humans don't so maybe there's something like that going on here.
I agree, I think it's a good concept, but I think it could have been just as easily been implemented with human peons. The beavers don't really add any thing, and there's definitely that missed opportunity for an actual beaver simulator. The first thing I think everyone thinks of when you say beavers is damming rivers. Plenty of opportunity for a really engaging, genre-defying game.
So, I just learned that Aavak has an 'after dark' channel where he dumps twitch vods. I would love if Splat did the same, since my employer blocks Twitch but not UA-cam.
A beaver city builder that doesn't allow you to build dams? They should be required damnit, the labour house should be a dam! Beavers without dams is like ants without anthills. It's an integral part of everything that makes a beaver.
I really need a project zomboid kinda of survival with more strategy and base-building to get a whole community in the apocalypse with everyone having their own skills and strengths, welp dreaming is free
Reviewers getting a free Steam key is standard practice in the industry. That's got nothing to do with getting paid to play a game. If he was paid, he would put "sponsored" in the title, but he's not.
Me, a canadian: "Beaver town-building game? Yes, please!"
Queue de castor avec ça ? xD
I know! I love the beavers. =]
Canada simulator
Me, a beaver: a human townbuilding game?!
you know, as many games as there are that are Kinda like this, i never really stop liking them.
"nice beaver!"
"thank you! i just had it stuffed."

MindUstry. Cool game
This game is adorable. Loving the concept, visual style and little animations. I want this game so bad now

That's a pretty respectable amount of progress for 6 months of time, I'm glad you revisited this game it looks even cooler, thanks Splatt'

Dev's give splattercat a game to enjoy, they give it to spiffing to break and finally to Dodger to go weeeee
Love your channel splat

The game we always needed without knowing we were needing it
I feel proud of myself for not letting my OCD ruin this video. I enjoyed it :)
This is basically just the tribal stage of spore, love it
just love a bit of Beaver
I don't know if you know but once you get the stairs and pathways you can actually stack the beaver houses, and I think that's just cool
Just like daddy used to say... "You can lead a beaver to the mountain, but you can't make them drink the dew."
If there was action animation like eating tree for timber or something, that would make it really cool.
This is the same as any other city building game except with beavers. They're trying to appease the younger crowd. "Oh look, cute little beavers" "Can I buy this game Daddy?"
did you really just do that to us!! 12:35
Did I just? *rubs his eyes* Did I just read "woodpunk"? :D

You had my attention at 'humanoid beavers'

The creators are planning on implementing more beaver qualities, such as having them live on water. Its very much in development right now

You won't see this but it's called an Archimedes Screw. ^-^
Splattercat: NOT a beaver.
This video reminds me why I put ice in my Mt. Dew.

would love to see more of this one. ...
Looks very cool the game so far :o
i think the labor building has a range with which it works and anything outside of it wont be worked
Oooo this looks great
5:54
I see you are a graduate of the 'quick maffs' school, eh?
Incorrect quick maffs more like it, he only needed 4 lodges.
You can lead a jackass to water but can't make him drink it...only so much you can do😂
You should attempt the death world in factorio
Splatty try out The Slormancer!
Well I guess you can lead a Beaver to water but you can't make him drink....... Yeah I'll see my way out.

They need a Nightmare mode, say, a Quivering Beaver?
I want more beaver...
This is like depraved

Beaver Science is not unlike Bird Law
Rest in power makes no sense to be honest, because those in power have to work to maintain it, while those seeking peace need merely embrace it.
This game oddly reminds me of kingdom & castles
Beaver God! 🤣
You rang?.... Oh wait.
Dinkster
🖤
this just looks like Stonehearth
AAAAAaaaaaAAAAAAnnngryyyyy Beeverrrrs!
Tell them to add animations where they whap with their tails to build :B
The gaming beaver watching this 👁👄👁
need more dam building
The 4 people who downvoted were probably hardcore OCD, they probably got triggered by that out of place house.
Hey splat hope you're doing well
starting building SHOULD be a dam.
Love this but your building placement is killing my OCD
I wonder if they're going to allow this to be on console
I'm here
sooooo Banished with beavers?
why are beavers living in houses?
:D
What do you get payed to play? Don't just say you got a steam key!
Reviewers getting a free Steam key is standard practice in the industry. That's got nothing to do with getting paid to play a game. If he was paid, he would put "sponsored" in the title, but he's not.
I hope you can build a dam.
first?

Nice vid like always . The games not that great though . Rippoff with bibers on 2 legs . To many games out there doin it better .
Cute but missed opportunity to do something interesting. Didn't even put the main house in a lake.
Fourth?
third?
Why would I go to twitch? That's build for SSI children who smoke blunts and drop out of school to pursue alcoholism!
sec?
False advertising! This is not the beavers i expected...
Looks like banished copy😐
Fourth?
