    I just started with the juggernautAI program today after following your channel. It’s a 60/40 split with a little more focus on powerlifting. I’m 30 now and been lifting for about a year now consistently after being on and off for a number of years. Always thought that I just wanted to get big but never had a plan or a follow through so naturally it’s never happened. Recently though I’ve found I really enjoy the powerlifting aspect and just getting stronger. Very basic numbers to start, 310,235,295. My “meet date” is 200 days out and I’m super pumped to see where I can get to. Love the channel and content you put out keep it up! Also super jealous of your basement and hopefully one day I can start upgrading my super basic and budget home gym myself

    • @BasementBrandon

      Those are some solid numbers. Please let me know if I can help at all with any questions!

    Great effort man! Glad you went for it - lately I’m trying to look at max efforts without concern. Jedi mind trick myself into seeing it as just another week. I thought it was RPE 8.5 myself (easier armchair quarterbacking than judging my own RPE 😂). Certainly looking stronger my dude! 💪🏽

      Thanks man! Yeah I've found PRs are nice and all, but in the longer term undershooting it and having my mind and body riding that high of enthusiasm is a big win.

    Great motivation! I just got back into lifting and have garage gym for 2-3 months. I'm older than you but good motivation that while progress takes time us older guys can still lift heavy and keep going for PRs. I'm slowly getting my strength back hit 275lbs for 2 deep squats last week so have a long weight to catch you. :-)

      Thanks was working out every day and definitely overtraining switched back to DC "Dogcrapp" training which for me lets me gain strength fast did second Leg A day and went from 255x5 to 265x6 today. (Leg B day is belt squats using barbell and henny strap hung from spotter arms to prevent knee shear). Got the Bells of Steel leg curl/extension when on sale and it works with my Rep Athena cable system for continuous resistance (use Henny Straps as they are easier to connect the cable to the weight peg). Pretty excited to do hamstrings at home now great product for

    This is what will set this channel apart. Otherwise it's just another review channel like garage gym or Gluck. Training videos are key.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  7 місяців тому

      Appreciate the feedback. TBH I just make videos I feel like making. I'm pretty set on my gym so I don't feel I need to do a bunch of reviews, but at the same time recording training does take away from my focus while doing so, so while they're nice on occasion for me, ain't nobody got time fo dat!

    How would you describe your breathing technique? Are you holding you breath at the bottom? Trying to figure out myself what helps me with heavier sets.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 місяців тому +1

      Try to utlize the valsalva maneuver. Helps with bracing and output. Big breath at the top with forcing air into my belt. Try to hold this through the rep.

    Moving some heavvvy weight. Nicely done. Looking forward to what u can smash next comp. Can jug modify if ur using 45s or does it only visually display the 55 plate selections?

    • @BasementBrandon

      You can go in and put the plates you own in. I was doing DL recently and had all my 55s loaded in. Whoops.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 місяців тому +1

      I think it depends on why you’re buying them. If intent is just to help better position for squat, I’d go 10.

    How often do you squat pr week ? Me myself 50 years old, only squats 1 pr week now. When i was 40 ish i could squat 3 times a week. 1 heavy, 1 medium and 1 light. But getting older and not tolerate so much wolume anymore, so training less helps me still going strong. My max in squat is 250 kg.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 місяців тому +1

      250kg is a great number, congrats! It varies for me depending on where I am in training. Right now it is 2x per week, but when I'm further out from comp it may be 3x. Key for me has been finding the balance with volume and intensity.

    RPE 10 squats sound terrifying as someone who has only gone up to 8/8.5 for a few blocks 😮

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 місяців тому +1

      In theory it should be a hard set, but one you're still capable of. Even in cases like these, you can undershoot and still get in the work with the backoffs. In the opposite scenario and if I could only do 2 reps, I'd still mark that as a 10 and I'd get prescribed the right back off sets. Always should have a spotter, or in my case something there to keep you safe.
