- Dominique Ansel, maker of the Cronut, intrigued Americans with his latest creation: the Cookie Shot, a chocolate chip cookie cup filled with vanilla milk. While the Cookie Shot is only available at his New York City bakery, we've hacked the concept so you can sip out of and chomp on the edible cookie cups at home.

Instead of pouring the chocolate into a separate bowl just pour it into the next cookie...
She does that so any crumbs from the previous cookie cup won't get into the chocolate and make it bumpy. She wants it smooth. :)

Amanda Hart The agitation from pour should be enough to enrobe the crumbs with chocolate. Therefore, there would not be any bumps. Furthermore, I don't think any one would seriously look into the cookie cup and say, "Look at these bumps!" as well as pouring milk in the cups will hide imperfections, if any.
Well, I DO believe that someone would try to make their creation look as neat as possible before posting a video to UA-cam. Making desserts is very much about the appearance of the final product, especially in tutorials. I'm sure she was able to use the chocolate in the bowl for another purpose. :)

If you dip your cookie in milk and then eat it you are having both cookie and milk at the same time ._. With thiese shots if you try to take milk and cookie at the same time you will probably spill it all over. Hm.

if you don't dip the whole thing in chocolate or something, it's probably going to get soggy quick. Otherwise, why not. Try it
You might be able to use a melon baller, to ball up the ice cream small enough for it. It may work out GREAT! You just have to try it, to see.

All of that effort for 4 shots of milk and 4 cups of cookies tbh I would rather go to my cupboard, get a pack of cookies and a glass of milk and sit there devouring that instead of fussing around with making these but cool idea

Maybe instead of milk you could use cream , make the shot glass / container smaller ( bite size ) . So just pop it in your mouth . Yum .

This is a great desert DIY for the kids to do and for special occasions or just for the fun of it. OMG love it!!
I don't have time to make this at home, but I would totally get one of these at a cafe!
Jesus. All together, this would take about half a day to prepare. No wonder there's that sterotype of women spending all their time in the kitchen. Ladies, you _could_ do this, or you just spend about 1/9th the time and make regular chocolate chip cookies and dip them in milk manually. This amount of prep time is just not worth the end result.

Let's recap and tally up all the work and prep time involved in this, shall we? This recipe will make FOUR cookies. four. not two dozen, not even a dozen. Four.
gather your ingredients and ensure they're all room temperature. Even assuming you don't have to go shopping for this stuff and you already have it all in your home, meeting that second requirement means waiting.
combine everything together (let's say, 25 minutes to mix this stuff by hand as she did)
jam the dough into tiny shotglasses (lets say 10 minutes)
put in fridge for half an hour
bake them for 20 minutes
wait for 20 minutes
somehow get a copious amount melted chocolate (mysteriously this amount of prep time is not mentioned)
put them back into the fridge again, Maybe the presenter assumes people just have melted chocolate at the ready at all times)
pour the melted chocolate in the cups, spread around and then dump out. Repeat for the other three cookies (let's say prep time 10 minutes)
let set AGAIN in the fridge for 20 minutes
add vanilla to milk, pour milk into cookies
the amount of prep work there is at the bare minimum two and a half hours.
To make four cookies.
This recipe is ludicrous compared to making a full batch of normal chocolate chip cookies that can be done from start to finish in half an hour.
If women want to waste their time doing things like this that's up to them, but wow is this a whole lot of effort for payoff that will be almost instantly eaten. It's doubtful most men would even pay any close attention and just eat them as-is without pouring milk into them. Amazing amount of wasted effort here.

But it doesn't make four. If you watch the video again, you can see that when she's finished filling the glasses, she has a lot more cookie dough in the bowl. Besides, melting chocolate takes like, 2 minutes and chocolate sets really quickly, probably only 5-8 minutes judging by how thin that chocolate coating looks. Honestly, I've no idea why she said 20 minutes.

I tried this recipe and i found that the cookie for me was way to dry and when i used normal melted chocolate (not tempered) the chocolate would just melted about 3 minutes after it came out of the freezer.
or coat the outside of the shot cookie if you want the cookie to be soaked with milk

Try and see youtube for what it is these days; it's big business and there's huge money backing a lot of the bigger channels (like this one). TV and Business Executives are running these things because there's a lot of money to be made out of people who still think these kinds of youtubers are just your girl or boy next door trying to 'make it' from their bedroom ....

Kevin O'Connell I do. I also think that people can instinctively tell when others are insincere. You look at all the top 'from home' youtubers. The most successful ones are the most 'real' (whether you like them or not) and the absolute biggest have no person fronting them at all!.
Channels like this one will always stay in middle ground because of the format and insincerity. Doesn't mean they don't make money or that people won't fall for it. But people are smarter than you think, even if it only manifests on an intuitive level.
BUT that doesn't mean that haters don't need to hate.
Just look at Alliser Thorne - perfect example! (Sorry - a bit left field that one! x])
Nothing you can do about haters except feel sorry for them (and don't let them kill you)!
